"First, let me say I really like these guys and have bought a number of items from them over the years. My most recent experience was not good, however. I ordered a spider arm for my Samsung washer and paid extra for expedited shipping. The part arrived promptly the next day, but the first thing I noticed was that one of the arms of the product, which is bulky and heavy, was protruding several inches out the side of the box. Upon closer inspection, I saw that it was damaged. When I opened the box, I saw that there was no cushioning or packing material in the box, just the bare part in an oversize box. That lack of care allowed plenty of movement during shipping as evidenced by the numerous signs of damage inside the box and the eventual puncture of the box. I immediately called APP and requested (1) a replacement be sent, again with next day delivery and (2) that the part be better packed to reduce the chances for damage in transit. Although l spoke to a very courteous customer service rep and supervisor, neither request was accommodated. I was told that, since it was Friday, the earliest that I could get a replacement was Monday, since APP’s contract with FedEx did not offer Saturday delivery. I pushed back since, of course, FedEx does deliver on Saturday, but was told that there was nothing they could do apart from refunding the shipping cost. As far as better packaging, although the customer service rep did request that the replacement part be better protected, it was not. When it arrived on the following Monday, there were 2 holes in the box where the arm had broken through in transit and even more noticeable damage to the inside of the box. Unlike the first shipment, the two holes had been covered with clear packing tape at some point and the part did not show any signs of damage. Again, I have had a good experience in the past with APP, and appreciate their very professional video tutorials. This experience, though, leaves me reluctant to order anything from them in the future that is bulky, heavy or susceptible to damage in transit."
