"I replaced the rollers, belt, and tension pulley/roller in my dryer for less than $100, which would have been the service charge alone to have a professional do it. At the same time, I was able to learn about the dryer, clean up excess lint and dust inside the unit, and replace aged weather stripping (get from hardware store ~$3) to make everything airtight again. The video was great, although the specifics of my machine varied of course. Dryer was out for a week waiting for parts and time availability, but the full revamp was probably less than 4 hours of time."

"I ordered a part for my microwave which wasn't heating anything. The parts list said it was a fix for that problem. The part was delivered in about a week and the price was reasonable, but it didn't fix it. I wish they posted their return policy when you add an item to your shopping cart, because it wasn't until after I tried the new part and wanted to return it, that I read the fine print on the return form that says you can't return any electrical or gas parts. I double checked with their support and they confirmed that. If I had known that I never would have ordered the part. And the tech support person suggested I try another part which was $140. (non-returnable) to see if that would work. I said no. The cost of the 2 parts would have cost me almost as much as a new microwave. So I'm now out $30. and ended up having to buy a new microwave anyway."
