BestBuy Reward Certificate SCAM

"I am a Best Buy Elite member, and my rewards points were incorrectly issued as 2x $65 Reward Certificates rather than being "banked". On December 31, I talked to the Customer Service Manager in-store in Tucson AZ to save my rewards, and he called MyBestBuy Rewards with me to have my reward certificates saved. I listened to him on speakerphone CONFIRM that I could call back in to activate my Reward Certificates.

Today, I was going to BestBuy for my next purchase, and I called to activate my points. The Mexico City service rep told me my points had already been re-issued as Reward Certificates, which had expired a week or two ago. This is incorrect - the Customer Service Manager in-store verified I would be able to use them at this time in the future by calling in. I was escalated to Supervisor Joe L from Rewards Department in Mexico City, who was extremely rude and hung up on me.

SORRY: WE CANNOT TAKE BACK YOUR DEFECTIVE IPAD BECAUSE IT IS DEFECTIVE

"1. 24 February 2020: Purchase Apple Ipad, cover and “forever” (automatic every month) warranty at the store; 2. 24 hours later, start setup at home.; 3. Ipad FREEZES at “Enter Password” (which I had not put a password in at all, so this was pretty frustrating); 4. Spend 1+ hours trying to unfreeze Ipad; 5. Spend 1+ hours trying to contact customer service (telephone and CHAT) to get help; 6. CHAT people cannot help, tell me “just return it and exchange – NO PROBLEM”; 7. Drive back to Best Buy (45 minute drive), politely explain that the Ipad is a dud/frozen, and CHAT said “just return/exchange – NO PROBLEM” and I would like one that works.; 8. (THEM) SORRY – WE CANNOT TAKE THIS BACK BECAUSE IT IS FROZEN. 9. (ME): THAT IS WHY I AM RETURNING THIS – IT IS FROZEN, I NEVER PUT IN A PASSWORD THAT IT NOW REQUESTS, SO I CANNOT USE IT.; 9. (THEM) SORRY (REPEAT WORDS); 10. ME: getting upset, (THEM) Repeat “NO” multiple times, zero empathy or help until a manager finally (20 minutes?) shows up and said (guess!!!): SORRY – WE CANNOT RETURN THIS. IT IS FROZEN. YOU HAVE TO TELL US THE PASSWORD.; 11. (ME) SO BASICALLY YOU ARE TELLING ME “TOUGH TOENAILS”; 12. (THEM) YES. ; 13. Get a lecture about being a NASTY customer and they are trying to “help” (???)

After much back and forth, the manager actually TRIED to return the Ipad using the actual buy/sell/return computer. IT WORKED!

Got the refund, went back to the floor, eventually had a salesperson come, and finally said “screw it” and went home without the Ipad. I now have to drive back to return the cover ($39.99).

FINAL HURRAH = STAPLES HAS IT DFOR $30.00 LESS.

Poor phone manners

"I called the Best Buy in Bowie Md. to speak to someone in the Geek Squad. Ms Brianna answered the phone rudely, honestly she was the down side of the experience because the young man from the Geek Squad was really nice, polite, helpful and he really tried to help me. Brianna, you need to take a few/many lessons on mannerism from that young man. Rudeness gets you no where."

Bad Customer Service

"I had purchased a HP computer monitor at Best Buy Harlem Irving store. When I picked up the monitor to install the screen cracked. Best Buy Harlem Irving store manager Muhammad Mavrik refused exchange. You would think with the completion they have, Best Buy would be more customer focused. I mean it was only a $100 monitor that I didn’t get to use. So I guess I’ll go to Best Buy, look at what they have, then buy from Amazon. I will never buy from Best Buy again. All for a stupid $100 monitor they wouldn’t exchange. More for principle than the money. It’s obvious they didn’t care. I guess that’s why Amazon is so successful. "

"Rude lying manger Cole in Las Vegas Rainbow store and delaying digital shipping online 48 hours after BestBuy has my money. Then transferred to the Philippines and told they just have to wait for the system and they have no control to fix anything. "

customer support not

"This is about the service. It is sorely lacking in several respects: phone systems, customer sales interactions, tech customer interaction, online chatting. Heaven forbid a customer gets caught up in the tentacles of the phone matrix system...it is indeed a matrix of horror: dropped calls, calls sent to limboland, incomprehensible speech; etc.
A note about the in home agents that evaluate the home for theater installs etc: THEY WORK FOR THE COMPANY NOT THE CUSTOMER! They will convince you to buy stuff you do not need. BE CAREFUL AND BE WELL.

"Best buy advertised they would install ANY remote start no matter where you bought it. Waited three weeks for my appointment and when I got there on time, They said they couldn't install it.

BEST "NOT" BUY

"We ordered a washer , dryer , refrigerator ,range ,dishwasher ,microwave ,range hood vent plus all the add on items they charge you for . That was Nov 10th . delivery Nov 20th oh no we have to change that to Dec 5th from 7am to 12p that day . That was then changed to Dec 11th same time . We do not live at the house so we show up at 7am . Approximately 8am we get a cancellation call . SAME DAY as delivery. Re-scheduled Dec 13th , call back , oh no has to be the 15th Dec. believe it or not another call changing the delivery to Jan 13th , today , 7a till noon time . We arrive at the home at 7am and yes at 7:20 we get the call that they have to reschedule ……………. lady on the phone was of no help , I have now called the Canton Ga store where the online order went to . Unable to reach anybody and I mean anybody . I call the corporate number listed ,1-***-***-**** absolutely no help no call back /I call the another listed HELP number 1-***-***-**** no answer , yes leave message . I call to try and reach the President Mike Mohan , I'm told he has no line and no secretary. More numbers 1-***-***-**** TJ will call me back .NO CALL BACK !....Corporate help number again try 1-***-***-**** again a phone run around Try ***-***-**** again they will call me back .NO CALL BACK This is absolutely unbelievable .Everyone is shielded from calls or don't call you back .This is our 4th house with appliance packages from best buy , NEVER AGAIN ……………. BEST "NOT" BUY I am tryin"

About right

"2 stars is about right. Can find good deals but, sometimes it might not be worth the hassle. Internet site shows out of stock items with no way I can find to remove them from searches. Will also let you add items to your cart that show in stock but when checking out, will tell you its not available and remove it from your cart. Not sure if they still do the restocking fee crap but, its still plastered on everything I see from them. If this is the case, I would pick one of 20 other online companies that don't charge you and let this company die."

"Son received this model for Christmas. He had been wanting a pc game for his laptop, but it wasn't going to have the horsepower to run it. He absolutely loved it and is playing his brand new pc game he has wanted for the longest time! It is a workhorse and is he puts it, "looks awesome," due to its clear pc chassis! "

Never REFUNDED my return from BestBuy.com STEALING from Customer

"Purchased a pressure cooker from Best Buy.com. Never received and called them, they refunded the amount. The next day the item came and I called to tell them I received it and they recharged my credit card. Opened the item and it was damaged I returned to the store and they said it was already credited. I explained it was re-charged on 12/9 and had to get my credit card company on the phone to prove what I was saying. The store called BestBuy customer service and had to open up a "CASE" to get my refund. I left the item at the store and requested the manager sign something saying I left the item at the store. I was in the store for an HOUR for this return. To date I still do not have the refund and will have to dispute the charge with my credit card company. BTW this is STEALING!!!!!!"

best buy has the worst customer service

"twice now i have tried to order a kitchenaid stand mixer and twice now it has "gotten lost in the mail" and they never believe you even though Canada post confirms it. and they take forever to refund you. refuse to send you a new product, say you just have to wait weeks for a refund and then reorder (at a higher cost since the sale is over). it's actually insane. "

Great Buy

"Just got a IBUYPOWER Desktop - AMD Ryzen 3 3200G - 8GB Memory - NVIDIA GeForce GT 710 - 1TB Hard Drive from Best Buy for under $500. So far, it is working great. My son really wanted it to primarily play on i-racing. He says it runs it smoothly with no glitches. It was, however, missing the remote to change the colors on it, but my son says you can use the keyboard instead, so not too big of a hiccup. All in all, it seems to work great for the price."

"Bought an iBuyPower Gaming PC (BB972) from BestBuy. Got a great holiday deal that made it hard not to buy. There are more expensive prebuilt gaming PCs with lower components. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super has not let me down. I am running games at Ultra High settings without any tearing or other issues. Easy setup right out of the box. Love this PC."
