"It is apparent that Buy.com does not want to pay the $50.00 rebate that they offered in their dealmac.com advertisement.
They received my Visa payment ( they were paid by Visa on 1/27/07) for the Connect3D2GB USB Drive and and made a profit from the sale and I feel it is now their responsiblility after 7 months to pay me the $50.00.

When I sent in the rebate it came back as not valid because the rebate was for purchases at Tiger Direct only. I contacted the company and they sent me the $30. "Worst online experience ever. Pre-ordered a game and it never came. I requested help from customer support. "Customer support" basically pasted some template reply back and said I was crap-out-of-luck. I called the support hotline (1-***-***-****) and spoke with a really rude rep who said she would request another review and I still haven't heard back from them.

I bought two Kingston memory USB drives on two different days from Buy.com, and the memory came with full rebates. The company sent the products by some carrier that uses U.S. Mail for its final delivery. The rebates had to be posted within a short period of time. Amazingly, both shipments got lost. After many calls, Buy.com finally offered to send replacements, but by then the rebate postmark deadlines had past. I told them to give me refunds instead.
I was also one of the 48,000+ people who were stiffed on the Connect3D fiasco. Buy.com advertised a $50 rebate on their 2GB USB drive. When people didn't receive their rebates and complained, Buy.com said they weren't responsible for paying it and that it was their vendor's responsibility to send the checks. Buy.com didn't return phone calls or e-mails. One customer service rep told me I would receive a $50 credit to my credit card, but it was never paid. One of the 48,000 customers decided to sue Buy.com. The law firm involved specializes in class action lawsuits, and after speaking with the firm I expect to be included in the class. By advertising "free after rebate" but then ducking responsibility when customers don't get paid, in my opinion Buy.com engages in unfair and deceptive marketing practices. I will never buy from them again."
"On 1/26/07 I purchased a Connect3D 2 gigabyte USB drive from Buy.com for $50.00. This purchase was made contingent upon a $50 manufacturer’s rebate, which should have been issued in April, 2007. Buy.com represented that the rebate was to be made, and even provided a link to the rebate form on their website.
After numerous attempts by phone, mail, and e-mail to both the manufacturer and Buy.com, no action has been taken. I have been informed that Connect3D is now out of business, and as I understand the FTC rules regarding rebates (the CompUSA case in particular) Buy.com is liable for the rebate payment to me.
To date, after many attempts buy phone and e-mail, Buy.com has not paid me, but has offered a $10 coupon. I view their actions as despicable. As I understand it, several other vendors were caught when Connect3D closed business, and they stood by their customers.

"Nightmare experience with first buy.com purchase. Web site coupon actually increased cost of item. Then, when customer service tried to correct it, they ordered my item, a gift, to be sent without a message despite my constantly asking about the message. The customer support in Manila said that she couldn't check the message until she placed the order, then said that there was none after the order was placed. She then went on to tell me that she could not add a message to an order that had already been placed. How maddening. Then, the order shipped late and I still have no tracking information six days after my order was placed. I called customer support (in Manila) again, only to get the runaround again
I will never use buy.com again. Shop elsewhere!!

"I placed order # 33810607 on June 2, 2007.
Ten minutes later, I found the same items $ 30 cheaper each on Amazon. I tried to cancel the order, but I was on hold by buy.com for about 32 minutes. When someone did answer, I was told that it was too late to cancel. They told me to refuse acceptance of the package and it would be returned to buy.com and I would get a refund.
I've already had things stolen from on top of the mailbox, so I got a buy.com RMA number and placed it into a USPS regular mailbox on June 8 or 9.
I've been calling buy.com trying to find if the package has been received, but I have found that it has been returned to the shipper and the shipper does not timely notify buy.com of returns.
It has been between 5 and 6 weeks and I call buy.com every 3 days hoping to be told that the shipper has notified buy.com of my return package.
I have been told by one buy.com customer support rep that only Supervisors can contact the shipper to find out about returns. Another support rep told me this can not be done.
I have been told by another support rep that I must call the USPS post office and get a tracking number. Since I did not pay for the return and did not get a tracking number, I BEGGED the support rep to contact the shipper and not have me waste more time contacting the USPS. The buy.com support rep told me the buy.com policy is that they can not do anything until the USPS gives them a tracking number. I can not get a tracking number.
I went to the local Post Office asked about the package and they looked on the return shelves. They could not find the package.

Please, please, please, contact the shipper and find out when the package was received. I am sure it has been received over 3 weeks ago, but the shipper has not notified buy.com so a refund can be processed.
Please do not have me contact the USPS for a tracking number.
I will continue to call and try to find out the status on my returned package.

"I made my initial purchase in December of 2006 - 2 Nintendo DS games - both in stock with GCO. The first game shipped a few days later, and the second went OOS during fulfillment. Ok, no problem I am willing to wait a few weeks if needed. February 2007, no updates, no shipment. I contacted customer service -- and received canned responses each time saying the item was delayed because of a problem with the supplier or due to popular demand. After repeated attempts over the next few months to try to get an expected ship date I gave up. We're talking about Mr. Driller how popular could it be.. Long story short my credit card was charged for the full amount for a product that I did not get. Worst retailer/customer service ever. Not the first time I've had problems with them. Buy.com has no integrity don't expect much from them."
