"I purchased the item "Connect3D 2GB USB Drive" and sent in the mail in rebate for $50 on 2/6/07.
As of today, 7/14/2007, I still have not received this rebate. The company involved (Connect3D) has apparently gone out of business and Buy.com is refusing to honor these rebates despite several requests. As per an FTC ruling, the responsibility for these rebates should ultimately fall on the retailer advertising the rebate to the consumer.

"Ordered Panasonic RP-HC500 Noise Canceling Headphones that was advertised as "in stock". Buy.com immediately charged my credit card. After a week I don't hear from them I email them to ask what's going on. Got an email back they "discovered" the item is not in stock. Using their web interface I asked to cancel my order. Company's response is that they'll *try* to cancel my order. So far no refund nor cancellation and forget about the product. Buyers beware!"

"I will never buy from this company again. They advertised a product with manufacturer rebates from a manufacturer that went into bankruptcy. Unlike other retailers, they refused to honor those rebates when this happened. So, if you plan to purchase products with rebates from buy.com, you should be prepared not to get your rebate money back. The ridiculous thing is that the manufacturer is bankrupted, buy.com boosted their sales, and customers lost their money."

"I purchased some Energizer Er-D320 batteries which were supposedly compatible with my camera. I had them shipped next day air cuz I needed them. Turns out they were mis-represented by buy.com and the manufacturer. I returned the batteries and buy.com only issued a partial refund. Not even the price of the actual product. I expected a full refund including shipping cuz it wasnt my fault that they were falsely advertised. "

"I purchased a Toshiba Laptop P205-S6287 on July 2nd with free shipping and received it on July 6th which was very quick. I have purchased several other items from Buy.com and have always received them quickly and in good condition. This time the laptop had no sound. I checked device manager and it said no audio device. I called Toshiba Tech support and they told me to reinstall the software. I did but halfway through the reinstall there was an error on the DVD and it wouldn't complete and so now I had a dead computer. Called Toshiba again and they said take it to an authorized repair location and they in the meantime would send be new disks. Took it to the repair place and they said they could fix it but would have to charge me to install any software. They suggested I return it to where I bought it. Read Buy.com's return policy. I had written on the toshiba case #'s on one of the pieces of documentation, I had obviously opened the disk and I had inadvertantly left the packing slip at the repair place. I started emailing Buy.com customer service to see if any of these things would disqualify a return. 3 days later after a couple of non-helpful emails I finally called them. Here I learned that they wouldn't give me a refund only a replacement. Of course they won't send a replacement until they get your machine so that means another two weeks before I can get the computer I should have had a week ago. I was thinking refund so that I could go ahead and buy another computer someplace else while I was waiting for the credit. Now I am thinking to just get it repaired as I really don't want to have anything to do with Buy.com ever again. There return policy definitely shows that they don't care about customer satisfaction. Given their feedback rating I don't think they are long for this world.
7-16-07 update - received an email from Buy.com indicating that they would give me a refund if that is what I wanted. However, they didn't tell me if the issues I listed would disqualify a refund. In the mean time, Toshiba had sent me a new recovery disk. I loaded the disk which worked and it also fixed the sound issue. So I have decided to keep the compter ater all.

"After seeing the low ratings on this site, I almost canceled my order for a VIZIO 32" refurbished TV. Am I glad I didn't. The order was filled promptly with good feedback telling me where it was in Federal Express Ground service. I received a $30 credit for opening a Buy.com Chase credit card and I am thrilled with the TV. It is in perfect shape and actually arrived 4 days early. I also had spoken with Buy.com shortly after I ordered the unit to clarify some questions and the rep was very helpful and gave me his name and phone number if I had any problems. Would definitely buy from them again."

"Horible support. Customer service people lied about not having supervisors available. Received 33 emails from them for 2 items I was wanting to return. Both items were being returned because their website indicated they would work for my iPod, but didn't. I have a 5.5 generation 80GB iPod I purchased from another vendor and when trying to get a case a protective sleeves that would fit it, the products I purchased from buy.com were not as advertised. One of the items came damaged in shipping and they refused to return it for a refund because the packaging, which they damaged, was not in order. Finally called their corporate office ***-***-**** after reading someone else's comments on another site, and was able to get both items returned and a shipping label sent to me after speaking with someone for about 4 minutes. I will never buy from buy.com again unless I know what the product is that I'm getting and don't intend on returning it."

"DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM BUY.COM. I cannot emphasize this enough. I decided to order an Acer 9300 laptop from Buy.com. After doing some further research about Buy.com, I decided to to cancel my order and purchase a laptop from a different reseller. I canceled my order before it 'went to warehouse' which means that it should not have been shipped out. According to Buy.com, they shipped the laptop to me anyway, NOT requiring a signature by Fedex for a $900 laptop. Fedex says that the package was dropped of outside my apartment. However, I never received the package and never signed for anything. Buy.com refuses to work this out with Fedex, I have been on hold with customer service for hours and hours. Customer service refuses to let me talk to their management (they are always 'in a meeting'). What a joke. Now I am out $900 for a product that I never received. When I e-mail their claims department, I get an auto-generated e-mail. I am filing complaints with the BBB, Attorney General, and who ever else I can find. I suggest you all do the same as this store f**ing s*cks."

"I was satisfy with this company until they give me false advertisement about the rebate for 3D Connect rebate. I E-Mail customer service 3 times with no response. Also I called customer service twice but no help. Very disappointed at Buy.com. Hope that they can re-earn the TRUST from their customer.
