"I'm surprised to see so many dissatisfied reviews for Buy.com! I've been shopping with them since 2001 or so, and have always got GREAT deals from them! I can't even begin to remember how many products I've gotten from them at ridiculous prices. My experiences have been good, there are no bad experience to report on. I'm not too crazy about the more recent BUY.com which seems more and more like Amazon.com, but there are still good deals to be had. My last order with them was for a PCI-E 1x USB expansion card, around $43 after Google checkout with destroys everyone else price for the same product (averages $54-$65 everywhere else). I ordered on 12/12/06, received the item via USPS by 12/18/06, free shipping of course. I will continue to use them."

"The worst shopping experience I’v had on the net. Bought 7 books on Dec, 4th. On Dec 5 I received an email stating the books had shipped. 12 days later the books had not came so I went to their website to track my package. Well it turns out they did not ship my package on the 5 like they stated but actually shipped it on the 15th 10 days AFTER they had said the shipped the product."

"Ordered an Antec TruePower Trio via Google Check on November 28th. Request change of shipment method from 3 days standard to free shipping the same day I placed the order. Did not receive package until December 18th. Got email from them saying the package mailed out on Dec. 14, so it is 3 days shipping, tough luck. Took them over two weeks to ship my order. Rather rotten service I say."

"Lousy lousy customer service and lousy price match policy. I had to waste 5 days talking to various customer service representatives who had no clue what they were talking about. Also, their promotions and offers are misleading.

I would never buy from them again.

"I ordered iOmega 320 GB harddisk online but immediately after 15 minutes tried to cancel the order because it was coming along power adaptor & i did not want to take that & since then i am suffering a lot of hell activities in co-ordinating with them, First of all they did not cancel my request but confirmed that the order is in shipping status, strange i selected 7-10 days standard shipping but they instead shipped on the same day, ironically i bought another harddisk from the same site same day but it could not went into shipping state until 3-4 days after.

Moreover now i need to return this but no one responds to my mail from BUY.COM, I have mailed them atleast 4 times but could not get response. This is the worst experience i ever had in my life.

"I have used Buy.com in the past (See Below) and my previous transaction was flawless so when I saw the MoGo Bluetooth Adapter for $10 I purchased it on the 11th of Aug and my PayPal account was immediately charged. The item was backordered with an estimated ship date of 1-2 weeks. I was disappointed but for $10 I figured I could wait. Yesterday the 9th of Sep Buy.com initiated a refund of my 10 dollars with the explanation that the product was no longer available. I had requested to be notified when the item was available from the product web page and received that email the same day stating the MoGo Bluetooth Adapter was now available. The email stated “This item is in stock but hurry, pricing and availability are subject to change.” I clicked on the link in the email and the same product is now $29.24. This is a very sorry work practice for the web retailer… What is most upsetting is that Buy.com used my money for almost a month and that will not happen again. I have gotten a bad taste with this practice of taking the customers money and not producing the goods. Is this practice legal? How can they hold their head up when they treat customers this way?

First time buying from Buy.com. Got a really good deal using Google Checkout and a rebate on a web cam. Ordered on Thu. and it was delivered on Sat. I am very happy with this transaction. Will use this online merchant again in the future.

"buy.com has always been reasonable. good prices, fast shipping..

On dec 10th, i ordered 4 items. 3 with budget shipping, 1 with standard paid shipping..

i received one of my budget shipping items [book] only 2 days after order.. i was optimistic that hte rest of my order would appear.

now 5 days later, i can understand that my 2 other budget shipping items have not appeared. but, i am disgusted that my PAID standard shipping item [xbox live 12-month card] has not appeared.. it claimed to have been shipped a few days ago, and it should have been here by now.

i am disappointed at this, and all attempts to contact buy.com have been failures

"Item was ordered and was suppose to be delivered. After checking status of package through fedex wondering why it was still not being delivered. I called fedex and than went to my local facility where it was last at and try to pick it up. Fedex agent told me that the package was lost and couldn't track where it is at. They told me to call buy.com and ask them to send a duplicate order and file a lost claim with them. I went home and searched for about 30 mins for thier number because they don't post it anywhere on thiere website. finally found it on your site and called buy.com they were unwilling to send out a duplicate order and file a claim for me. Told me to wait another week even though I told them that the package was already lost by FedEx. Asked them to call FedEx and talk to them but the buy.com customer service representative would not. I told them that I needed them to ship me another one soon because I needed to fill out a rebate that was offered by them for the product I ordered since it had a early postmark date. Buy.com representative unwilling to help me at all and told me he could not do anything about it at this time. Asked them to cancel the order and refund me but the representative said he could not do that since it was shipped. I repeated once again that it was lost and he said he can't do anything about that. Asked to talk to a manager they put me on hold for an hour and hangs up on me. Seems like they didn't want me to get the rebate. Horrible service"

"I placed an order for a tv on 12/7/07. On 12/11/06 Buy.com said the item has been shipped. I contacted FedEx and they stated that only labels have been printed and they were never called to pick up the package. I called customer support (after searching 2 hours for a number) and got no help from the India based service. I decided to look up the corporate office. Took some time but I loacted the "unlisted" number. I was asssured on 12/13/06 that my order will be looked into and I would get a call back personally from corporate. On 12/14/06 I did get a call back stating my order has been shipped and all the info was Emailed to me. On 12/15/06, I called FedEx again and got the same response, labels generated but no scheduled pickup!!! I called the corporate office again, and got the run around. I cant say this comapny is bad, but I am very waery of their methods and more than likely cancel my order through corporate on 12/18/06 if I dont get percise info from them. I will also be contacting the FTC telling them of Buy.coms run around practices. I highly reccomend a search for their corportae office number, because you will get nowhere through their customer support service. Perhaps if corporate gets enough phone calls with the same complaints they will change their ways."

"Aplle nano through google cart charged my card right away.

The failure from buy.com was not sending an e-mail when it was found to be on backorder, and the CSR did not have the ability to really proactively help me (couldn't search for like items, to check stock, only sku).
Buy.com will have to offer some incentive if they want me back, I got hassled and got nothing out of the experience.

"Yet another HORRIBLE experience with Buy.com. Canceled my order with zero contact to me and now I am left to again most likely wait for weeks upon weeks for a refund. They took my money immediately though....hmmmmm.

I was a fool to think Buy.com has corrected their shady business practices.

STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY LIKE THE PLAGUE!!!! REGARDLESS OF WHAT YOU THINK YOU WILL SAVE MONEY WISE. YOU ARE BETTER TO GO WITH A REPUTABLE AND RESPECTED COMPANY LIKE NEWEGG.

"Nothing but headaches with Buy.com; their website works sometimes and not others, they never answer their customer service emails, etc. This order snafu happened when they informed me that a package had been shipped, and then, apparently, the package was lost. I don't know how FedEx lost a package when the only thing that had happened was that the package data had been sent to them online, but happen it did. I emailed customer service 3 times about the issue with no reply. I finally googled the customer service number and called and got someone on the phone (who had a pretty pronounced accent--is their call center in India, perhaps?), who informed me that I could only place a new order for the item (a harddrive that I really need and want) AFTER the lost package claim had gone through, which takes 3-5 days, and they couldn't promise that the item I wanted would be in stock anyway, so I was out of luck. I will never shop there again. "

"Item was shown in stock, credit card was blocked and has stayed blocked for the order amount since the order was placed. The order has not shipped, emails are not answered, the phone number for customer support gets disconnected after 5 mins of being on hold. Terrible experience."
