emailed at least 6 times to find out what was happening, no response.

called and complained, which was useless.
found out they charged my credit card twice for the camera, once for the memory card.
phoned credit card company to report fraud.in short, avoid buy.com, they really do suck.

"I ordered a digital camera because of the good price. I paid for next-day shipping because I hoped to have the camera in time for a trip my family was taking. 4 days later the camera still hadn't even shipped. I called their "support" number which I had to find through google and all the rep (in India) could tell me was exactly what the order status page at buy.com told me.
I then checked their website again to find that now the camera was listed as out of stock. I took that to mean that my camera wouldn't ship anytime soon and cancelled.
In short, don't get suckered by a low price. Their customer service is all but useless, and they didn't bother to tell me that my item was backordered. I never would have payed extra for fast shipping if I'd known they didn't even have the camera. The rep I talked to was polite, but ultimately clueless about what the real status of my order was. I don't think they have any way of finding the information, which isn't suprising considering they're on the other side of the planet."
"One of the worst online stores I've had to deal with. After they screwed up my previous order, I decided to give them one last chance, and they screw it up once again. I needed to have my purchase shipped quickly and be received in about a week, which I believe is reasonable. Instead even though the item was "in stock" they informed me it was on backorder and I had to opportunity to cancel, which I did. Instead, they filled a cancelation request, which will be processed in a few business days. Obviously what happened was that in a few days, my order finally shipped and by then it was already too late. AVOID THIS STORE, I am never going to buy from them again. I hope they go out of business with their disreputable business tactics"
"Ordered an iPod photo 3 weeks ago. They claimed it's shipped but the shipper (FedEx) said Buy.com never sent them the item. Then i called buy.com cust service. It seems like their cust supports are outsourced - weird English. I told the gal my problem and i could feel that she just read a standard answer back to me. Basically, she told me to wait 11 working days before they can do anything. It's clearly a lost shipment.
This is not the only time I have trouble with them. In those cases, I wasn't getting any useful help neither."
"Ordered 2 NB-2LH batteries and only 1 was shipped. Invoice said it shipped 2, but only 1 was in the package. Filled a claim online and then it said 10-15 days to research the claim. Found their support number online (since it's no where on their web site), and they just reiterated what they emailed me..."10-15 days". I said I needed it ASAP, and they said for me to order another battery and then they will credit me the original missing battery. Problem is, I would have to pay full price, when I initially got 2 becasue they were on sale! They then said that they would give me the sale price. Not going to trust that if I can't even trust them to send me a complete order. I'm never shopping with buy.com again."
"I have placed about 20 orders with these guys and I am just about done with them. I cancel order and hour after placing and the next day they just ship it anyway even after I called New Delhi to confirm the cancellation. When i called back after they charged my card the fella on the phone didn't even understand english enough to know I was mad. I wasn't worked up enough to yell or anything but it was like he was answering questions someone else was asking him. On top of the at I was told a supervisor is only available 'between the 9 and the 5 of the PST'. WOW! I'm over them."
"I'm surprised to see so many dissatisfied customers. I have placed about 20 orders through Buy.com for disk drives, a scanner, books, CDs, software, a network card, and CD cases. I have never had any problems with them. Their prices are competitive, and usually my order arrives before the date promised. Sometimes I get items within 2-3 days even with "budget" shipping. The only time I dealt with customer service was for a backordered camera. They told me when it would be in stock, and since I needed it sooner, I cancelled the order. I haven't had any problems with them for business or personal purchases."
"This is my first and LAST experience with buy.com.
I placed an order on 4/19 4 items all which were listed in stock. Within 3 (not 2) business days 3 of the 4 items were shipped. Buy.com has no customer support phone # listed, so I used their email system to ask why my last item was not shipped. All I got back was some generic auto generated email. After searching buy.com for some sort of contact #, I finally found a # for cell phone support. Upon calling that number an option in the auto-menu mentioned that their billing # was 1-***-***-****.
I called this number and was greeted with a support agent with an extremely heavy Indian accent. I asked about my order status, and the support agent was completely useless. It was like talking to a brick wall. It appears that they do not have access to anymore information that I did on the web site.
I continued to call every day for the next week, always the same answer, "we do not know when this item will ship and it will ship as soon as possible" "Can I talk to someone who DOES know when it will be shipped or why it is not shipped?" "No, I am sorry sir I do not have access to that information" "will you give me the number of someone I can call who knows whats going on? Maybe the warehouse?" "No, I am sorry sir, I do not have that information"
So I decided to cancel the order on 4/28. I was told that I would be contacted within 1 business days to let me know if the order could be canceled. It is now 5/2, no response from buy.com.
Worst customer service I have ever experienced from an online realtor, and I order a lot of stuff."
"I ordered SD card using google checkout, which unfortunately had wrong shipping address. I contacted buy.com immediately (within minutes) to change the address. Buy.com refused to change the shipping address, or cancel my order. They claim I received the item even though I obviously did not (I had moved from that address long time ago).
This was a total letdown, no more buying from buy.com"
"Do us all a favor and do not buy from this company. I had nothing but problems with dealing with customer service and even was insulted by petty name calling from a customer service rep (unreal). I could have been a life long customer but there business is not at all geared for retaining customers and because of how they act I will never do biz with again. I agree with all other neg posters because a little bit of each one of their stories happened to me.
Saving 10 dollars will not be worth it if you have a problem. If you are not a believer about how bad this company is they go ahead and try them."

"I ordered a buffalo 54g router advertised with a free 54g notebook adapter. Two weeks later, when the router arrived without the adapter, I emailed them, to which they responded that the adapter would be mailed separately within two to three weeks. Now, three and a half months later, they say that they will not send the adapter, because it was a limited promotion. I've sent them about half a dozen emails, to which they responded to only two, the first within a few days (telling me I would receive the adapter), and the last only after two weeks (received today, telling me "no adapter"). The BBB and American Express are investigating on my behalf."
"I ordered two items because of a huge mail-in rebate, a 512 MB SD card and a USB 2.0 SD card reader. The shipped the reader, but after two weeks of the other half of my order having the status "sent to shipping", they canceled my order. It shouldn't take two weeks to figure out they don't have something in stock. Takes several days for them to respond to emails, and no telephone number at all! If they make it impossible to talk to a real person, that's a sign of a really bad company. I will never buy (or attempt to buy) from them again, no matter the price.
On the half of the order that got shipped, they never provided a shipping tracking number, and the website didn't show that the item had shipped until I had already recieved it. Overall, Buy.com feels like a company run out of someone's garage, and extremely unprofessional."
"No problems with first order. Purchased discounted Memorex DVD-R and put free ship (7-9 days) and got them in 4. Good deal, good service.
Second order is even better. Paid for item, Netgear router (with rebate) and put free 7 day shipping and recieved it the NEXT MORNING! Router works great and netgear rebate seems to still work. Buy.com has not let me down. Hopefully, (after reading the other reviews)the rebate will work and i wont need to contact Indian customer support.
