"Buy.com seems change. It was very good before but it has been terrible since I don't know when. Their customer service never carefully read your message and never answer what you are asking. This is the story:
1. I placed an order with my account which had not been used for a while so the address was the old address before I moved. (This is my fault since I didn't carefully review the detail of the order before I placed it.)
2. Since the billing address was wrong, buy.com couldn't match my billing address and send me an email asking me to provide correct address or call my credit card company to solve this issue. (This is fine)
3. I noticed this is due to the old account I used which should've been updated. So I went to the website and changed both billing and shipping addresses. And then I replied their email including the correct billing address. To avoid them forgetting to change my shipping address as well, I capitalized several letters and remind them to ship the order to this new address. (I thought it should be good enough, if they do change the billing address, they should change the shipping address as well)
4. Got an email from buy.com saying the order is on its way. (But the format makes me feel uncomfortable since it looks like the fixed format to every customer without mentioning whether they changed the shipping address or not)
5. After a few days, I checked the tracking number buy.com provided and found that the item has arrived but been refused by the recipient and is on its way back to buy.com. WTH!! I called fedex and they verify me the address is the old one. (I am very angry since buy.com did know to change the billing address but simply ignored the same email I remind them several times to change the shipping address)
6. I emailed buy.com again with the fedex tracking result, which shows that the order is re-routed back to the shipper. (asking them what to do next)
7. Got an reply telling me my order will be arrived on the date listed on fedex website, which is in fact the date it will go back to buy.com.
I guess they simply think I am the customer who is not patient enough to get my order. So they go track on my order and find the estimated delivery date and tell me. They also provide the tracking number and tell me I can track it by myself.
How careless and slovenly this customer service is? They just don't read what you said carefully and answer your question on this casual way.
I think this is the customer service ppl should avoid. (This simple problem is not solved yet...)"

"I've never had worse service from this type of large, well known, general retailer. They have lost a customer. I ordered 3 pieces of DDR memory. 2 of the pieces came with a manufacturer rebate and I purchased them for that reason. I need the memory quickly, so I payed for 2-day shipping. The order was shipped in two seperate shippments on 3/17, tracking numbers were provided with each. The first order, containing 1 piece of memory arrived on 3/19. On 3/24 I checked the second tracking number and FedEx reported no such tracking number. I contacted Buy.com customer support and was assured in email that it had shipped and would arrive shortly. Two weeks later, I filed a lost shipment claim, which was approved on 4/15. They then issued a new order for 1, yes 1, piece of memory - which was now backordered. I've now contacted Customer support again asking to have the order cancelled and refunded for 2 pieces of memory. I will also be disputing the charge with my credit card company.
I can't see how buy.com will be in business for much longer with this level of incompetance."

"Here's the complete scoop on buy.com. 95% of my purchases (and probably yours) will be like heaven. But, for the other 5%, it will be like hell. For my latest order, on Dec 2 for an item that they had on sale, I received s status of shipment and a FedEx tracking number within a couple of days. They, like every other company is fully automated. All it should take (at most) is for a person to click on a button to issue my refund. Meanwhile, I wait and wait. They've had my money for over a month without shipping my order to me. This is the definition of hell."
"They were cheaper than Amazon and had free shipping, so I thought I try buy.com, since it's been years since I bought anything from them. Wow this company has changed. They use a shipping company APX that has a website under construction with tracking problems. APX customer service was polite, but had trouble knowing how to find my package.
I called buy.com at two different times and spoke to two separate person from India (I believe), they seem to have a cued response and didn't care much if finding my package. Since the package was shipped from only a couple of cities away, it should have been delivered in a day, it's already almost two weeks. The first person I spoke to wasn't polite at all and it seems to me that buy.com customer service only cares about repeating pre-defined responses they read word for word...pretty futile to even call buy.com customer service.
I should have checked with resellerratings.com before placing my order with buy.com, it seems they are really different company than 2 or 3 years back. Customer service from out of the country with people that don't care about helping you and long delays with receiving items seems like a common theme from reading all the reviews.

Back in February, I purchased a set of Sony headphones for my new MP3 player. I liked the headphones so much, in April I placed an order for the same headphones for my wife. This time, however, the shipping charge differed on an identical order with identical shipping (Standard 3-5 day). The shipping increase wasn't much, but I was curious why shipping went up. So I wrote another e-mail to ask why my question, which is based exactly off the chart the agent referred to, can't be answered. I asked again for a clarification, and (I'm not making this up) I received the very same e-mail reply.
Buy.com did issue, on its own initiative, a $3 gift certificate to apologize for my poor experience with customer support, but I've yet to receive an answer about the shipping charge. In addition, if I decide not to purchase from Buy.com again, a $3 gift certificate is meaningless.
Figuring I might have better luck speaking with someone rather than dealing with e-mail, which might be computer generated, I called customer support and received a nice lady from India. She apologized for the inconvenience but couldn't explain the error in shipping rates. She said it was probably a computer glitch, but she didn't offer to look into or fix the problem. Thinking I might be able to reach a different person, I tried calling back a couple of days later at a different time of day. I received the same lady! Again, she apologized, brought up the $3 gift certificate, didn't understand a gift certificate doesn't answer the question about incorrect shipping rates, and refused to let me speak with a supervisor!
I hate to have a bad experience with Buy.com because I've been very happy so far. But this purchasing experience has me scared. How do I know that I won't be charged incorrectly for future orders? How do I know if I have a problem, I'm going to reach someone who can offer a true resolution?
I'd advise caution in placing orders with Buy.com."
"Was trying to get a couple of jerseys of our favorite team before we went to the game. Figured they'd have them to me with plenty of time to spare. After all, I allowed 8 days for them to arrive. Their site showed 1-2 days before shipped, and I picked 2nd day shipping. I should have it with a couple days to spare. Checked every day to see if it shipped. Nope. Then a week later the site states that both jerseys are on order. WHAT? Your site stated it had them in stock! Now I have requested cancellation. We'll see how that goes. I'll update when that comes through.
Update:
They did NOT cancel my order. I received shipment 6 days after the game for which I wanted the jerseys.
The men's jersey is not as pictured on the site. The number is not on the front as the photo shows. Other than that the jersey is nice.
The women's jersey is sized EXTREMELY small. We ordered a large, and the tag showed L, but the jersey looked like an XS. Got a RMA and sent it back at MY cost of $7.95. Still waiting for the refund."
"The service is horrible. Was waiting for an item, then got an e-mail that they can't fulfill because they out of stock (even though their website still says it's in stock). They said I have to cancel my order and place it again (?), which I did. Well, they only canceled my $15 OFF coupon and shipped the item (somehow magically appeared in stock). "I must admit, upon seeing the reviews and score on resellerratings, I was skeptical, if not downright disuaded to order from buy.com. But they had the lowest price on the logitech mx3100 and I decided I'd take the chance.
I must first say that I am immensely impressed. I rarely get orders this quickly from ANY company. I put in an order on Wednesday afternoon and immediately received an order confirmation. It was shipped later that evening, and buy.com notified me of this with another helpful email with my tracking number. It arrived on Friday afternoon without a hitch, brand-new in perfect condition. The packing was good: a new box with plenty of paper padding.
I can't imagine how this order could have gone more smoothly. Again, as this is my first experience with this company, it has left a good impression on me. I'll definitely be using buy.com again when the price is right."

"UPDATE: OK I FINALLY received my SD card today 8 Apr(almost 2 weeks!) I think I discovered the problem, they shipped a 2x2 inch package in an 18 x 13 inch padded envelope! Anyway I am still not impressed with a company as out of control as these guys. If ordering I would say you are taking a chance and I personally would not buy big ticket items from them.

on the 28th the SD card showed shipped via USPS
on the 29th the Antenna showed shipped via UPS
On the 31st the Antenna arrived -YAY!
Still waiting to get the SD card, USPS tracking says "No record of item..."
Called Buy.com and they said wait 13 days, I told him about my concern with the rebate and they said don't worry. Yeah right! Cust service rep was very rude and condescending and absolutely no help!
