"Placed an order for an aircard. They e-mailed that it had been shipped and provided a tracking number. A check of the tracking number indicated that no package was associated with the number. When I brought it to their attention, they said that they would not ship another and would not credit my credit card until three weeks after the projected date that I would receive the item. I kept trying to point out to them that the carrier had no record of the shipment, but all I got in return was boilerplate automatic e-mail responses. I had been a small but consistent customer for years, but apparently my business was not important enough to follow up on. They finally e-mailed that they were crediting my card more than a month after the order. They lost me as a customer and apparently did not care."

"Yeah I know, you've found an item on buy.com that has a "Great Price" and you've read all the bad reviews, but you still want to belive that your experience will be different. That's what I thought when I put my order in for a radar detector that buy.com stated was "In stock" (supposed to ship 1-2 days. Well after 2 days I emailed buy.com to find out what the status of my order was. I received a canned email stating "Were working on processing your order". I emailed back a couple of times asking for more specifics and I received more canned emails not telling me anything useful. Well now I received the "We're sorry but your item is on backorder" email so I emailed back asking for more specifics..When will you be getting more? Again, canned email stating they "dont know", but will email me when the order ships (Oh goody, how thoughtful of them).
So its Monday June 13th now and I am going to cancel my order because they tell me the item is backordered, when what do you know, my radar detector showed up at my door. I received an email later that day saying that my item had shipped.
Overall Experience: When you purchase something at Buy.com it will probably take longer than expected. I excptected 1-2 days shipping because the item was stated as "In Stock", but it took a few days more. The radar detector was New and nicely packaged. Not a big deal, but the problem is communication. Buy.com doesn't seem to be able to give you accurate information on what is in stock and when it will ship, so if you can wait a little longer and deal with the unknown, buy.com is the place for you."

I finally broke and ordered replasement batteries for my now infamous Panasonic cordless phone. This battivorous phone has gone through 3 NiCd batteries in a year.
I recieved my batteries in Newegg time. I ordered them at the same time as a Newegg item. They came by USPS in my regular mail. Package sizes were comparable. Fees were comparable in favor of Newegg's FedX SuperSaver.
If not for the SPAM and endless IE popups I may more enthusiastically recommend Buy.com. This review is meant to show a renewed interest in their site as a preferred vendor in my list."

"I ordered a Connect3D 2GB Secure Digital Card that was advertised for FREE after rebate. The company is bankrupt and I never got the rebate. Buy.com is fully aware of the situation. Buy.com chose to use this supplier (after doing their due diligence) but, as of now, is not taking the responsibility for dealing with crooks in this rebate scam. I am curious how many people got ripped off. If enough people got rip off, a class action law suit against buy.com and its top executives might make sense. Then they have to waste a lot of time and money defending themselves. "

"I have been doing business with Buy.com for years now, and I was shocked to see that their average review rating here was only in the 5's. My latest purchase, a SanDisk 512 Ultra II CompactFlash card, arrived in perfect condition (via free shipping) in 5 days. Buy.com's prices are good, they spell out rebate information clearly, and I have never once in 12 purchases had a problem, even when I had to cancel an order. I have bought things ranging in price from expensive computer equipment (hard drives) to wireless network components to digital memory cards. I will continue to do business with Buy.com and hope that some of the concerns other people raise are resolved for them."
"Bought Sharp T150 phone on May 3rd. It was a free phone with two rebates $75 & $50 on their website. But when the shipment came it had only rebate of $50. Showed them all the proofs from different websites as an evidence of what they advertised but to of no use. They refused to honor their own rebate on the phone and advertisement. I challenged them to produce "the correct deal for that day" on their website but they can't. But they won't give $75 rebate either. Their view is customer should be responsible but they can't. Even though these rebates were displayed for days afterward with new prices for the same phone, their attitude was "we never had any problem, it's you". The burden of proof is on the customer. The worst shopping experience ever. The word logic, reason, corroboration, evidence means nothing to these folks. If something goes wrong, it's all along customers' fault.

"Order was cancelled without any notification. This was the second time this has happened. 4 out of 11 orders were cancelled. The status of one shows completed. I have to click on the tracking to see that it was cancelled. The one-time coupon was used though. "
"After several assurances that I would receive the (promotional) wireless notebook adapter that was advertised when I placed this order, buy.com reversed itself and told me it would not be shipping the promised adapter. I filed a dispute with my credit card issuer and received a $20 refund to cover the costs of purchasing the same adapter elsewhere.
I would not recommend buy.com as they are not trustworthy, their support is outsourced to rude and apathetic Indians, and they continue to shamelessly engage in fraudulent business practices."
