"Add me to the very dissatisfied list. I have the same experiences as most everyone else here: returns requiring multiple requests before being credited, canned customer service responses, and reps with poor English skills offering no help. The latest? I ordered an in stock item 9 days ago and it supposedly shipped a week ago from 25 miles away from my house (they use some company called APX). No one has seen it in 4 days and Buy.com tells me I have to wait another week because ground shipping takes 11-13 days. Steer clear of this company.
UPDATE: Received the package 12 days after ordering. USPS said APX hadn't given it to them, and APX said Buy.com hadn't transferred it to them, even though it said it shipped (with tracking info) from day 1. Needless to say someone is giving bad information (appears to be Buy.com) and I won't be ordering from them again."
"I felt the need to defend buy.com from the negative rap here on reseller ratings. I have purchased numerous times through this company and have only had a problem once where UPS lost the package and buy.com (AFTER THEIR STATED SHIPPING WAIT TIME) resent the item, which I received in a few days. "The product I ordered did ship on time, but for some reason FedEx returned it undelivered. While I don't blame them for FedEx's mistake, It took a phone call and an email to establish that they would be unable to reship the item unless I re-ordered it. Then it took another 3 emails and two months of waiting before they issued the credit.

Customer support cannot help as the wireless department handles the calls.
The wireless department number does not connect to a real person

I have been calling them (main support) for a week and a half, each time they say it has been escalated to senior support, please wait 3-5 business days.
They have no number for managers, support in wireless, supervisors in wireless, the people they sent it to. Only response is please wait.
They also cannot change shipping options, refund, etc.

"Summary: Buy.com may competitive prices on certain items but takes too long to fulfill orders, does not cancel their orders even though the item wasn't shipped until several days later. Customer service repeated told me to wait for the 15 day processing time, even thought it has been over a month since the shipment was refused and returned.
I placed an order for a Sandisk Mp3 Flash Player, but later realized I wanted a bigger capacity player, so, in less than 24 hours after placing the order, (I placed the order around 4pm, and tried cancelling it online the next morning) I made a request to cancel the order online. So for the next three days, my order status says "cancellation requested," and then it says order shipped on the third day. Ridiculous, so Buy.com took three days before they shipped my item, and yet in that time they still did not cancel it.
So I called their phone support number and told them that they shipped my item days after I had cancelled it, and they told me to refuse the item, so I did, and it got shipped backed. They told me it would take up to 15 days before I would get my refund.
So over the course of the month, I've been checking my statement to see if the refund had been processed and the charge refunded back to my account. I've called them several times and they repeatedly told me the same thing, that it takes up to 15 days for the refund to process after they have received the item in their warehouse. Even after a month since I've refused the delivery of the item, I've called them and their customer service staff told me to wait 15 days, and that they haven't received still haven't received the item in their warehouse, even thought it has been a month after the delivery has been refused and returned.
As of this writing, I still haven't seen the charge refunded on my account.
Summary:
Buy.com did not cancel my order, even though I had requested the cancellation several days before they shipped it. Even after a month after I refused and returned the shipment, they claimed they haven't received it back in their warehouse, even though it says on the tracking number that the shipment was refused and returned to the selling a month ago. What a ridiculous hassle it is to try and get my money back on an item that they could've easily cancelled in the first place. It is a time consuming and painful experience dealing with Buy.com on something as simple as getting my money refunded on a cancelled order."
"They have Terrible Sevice. They never ship their order to you and then just tell you to cancel it because they can't fulfill it. They just use computer generated responses. Don't trust this company or buy anything if you need it. They just tie up your money and waste your valuable time."

I placed an order for Viking 512MB compact flash on 1/23. The order was marked "shipped" on 1/25. Today 1/31, I still have NOT received it.
I checked the USPS website for the tracking number, and USPS does not have information about this shipment. It is like USPS was never informed about this shipment.
I am not an idiot. I have used USPS for many-many times, and all of my shipments always shown up to date on USPS website. Sending package from Boston to San Fransisco (coast to coast) with regular USPS first class mail only took about 4 days.
BUY.COM must be running some kind of REBATE SCAM!
This Viking 512MB compact flash comes with $15 mailin rebate, which I must submit 30 days after the date of purchace.
I called the customer service, and the customer representative had problem speaking English.

"Never buy from this company! I placed some orders late in 2004. On one of the orders, I received a defective DVD. I received it in November, but since it was a Christmas gift, it was not opened until 12/26. Since it did not fall in their silly 20 day return policy, I contacted them by email at first, to see if they could help me. I received an email back 3 days later, telling me that I needed to forward them specific information, which, by the way, I had already included in my first email.(You can see that they had totally not read my first email). After I sent them a second email with the same information, they told me that because of the "20 days" return policy, they couldn't help me. I then called, spoke to a rep and they told me they would escalate the matter to management, who in turn would call or email me in 3 days. One and a half weeks later, I called again because I had not been contacted. The rep I spoke to told me the same thing and swore up and down that I would get contacted. Another week and a half later, I called again because I had not been contacted. This time I spoke with a rep who AGAIN told me the same story, so I asked to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor told me "she would handle this herself" and that I would get an RMA within a week. How much faith do I have in that? NONE.....don't buy from these incompetent fools!"
