"This rating concerns my latest order (512MB SD card), but in general I've always had good luck with them, even if they aren't the cheapest thing around.
This order was placed Tuesday, and Thursday I had the part. They sent a FedEx tracking number quickly as well. They also point you right to the rebate forms so you have everything up front. They ship extremely fast.
On one occasion in the past, I stupidly ordered SD when I meant to order Compact Flash. They took the item back, no questions for a full refund.
So, I like them. And, I've ordered more than a dozen times from them and not had a problem.

"False and intentionally misleading stock quantity and poor customer service and support.
Very disappointed in the service. I ordered them in the early morning (7am Eastern) on March 3rd (Thursday). When I ordered the digital camera and extra battery, the interface told me they were in stock and listed both as "Usually ships in 1 to 2 days".
On Friday (March 4), I received an email of partial shippment (the battery), but the camera status was "At the warehouse".
Monday, March 7 -- still no shippment. I sent an email and received a reply stating they update quantities on their website every 24 hours so I could have seen they had them in stock when actually they didn't.
I tried to add it again to my shopping cart and sure enough -- their website said the camera was in stock. False information. No response to my second email.
I cancelled the order and bought from local dealer for same price (was on sale).
I will never buy from Buy.com again."
"Ordered a printer, toner and usb cables. Big box with toner and cables showed up, but no printer.
Had to wait 2 weeks for claim to be accepted, and they finally credited my account.

"Overall the transaction was great. Price was the lowest on the Net at the time of order. Very confusing about if it would ship or not ship. Customer Service had no idea if it would ship and just gave the party line of it's out of stock and we don't know when it will ship. All the time my order status showed Sent to Warehouse. When questioned specifically why it said that they continued to say they were backordered and were not sure when it would ship. Only after I received the automated email saying the item shipped did Customer Service know what was going on.
The Epson P-2000 though is awsome! I've only had very little time so far to play with it but it is exactly what I need and more for my digital photography needs!"

Ordered a Epson CX4600 printer on Feb 14 2005 and the wesite is showing order was shipped on Feb 15 2005 through some third rated shipping menthod. "I've had a few purchases with Buy.com and have not been disappointed with their service and speed of delivery. Accurate sale information as well as a tracking number were forthcoming within 24 hours. This purchase was a Netgear WG511T card for a Macintosh laptop...not an essay combination to configure.
If I had to grouse about anything, however, it would be with FedEx as a delivery service. For two consecutive deliveries they delivered to the wrong residence, a house many streets away.
All in all, I wouldn't hestitate to shop with Buy.com again."
"Ordered Nero Ultra Edition at Buy.com (a $50 MIR was included which was an excellent deal!), FREE shipping option. Four business days later the Nero retail box was here, even though they said it could take up to 9 days... This was my 2nd buy at Buy.com and I am very satisfied."
"Purchased an iPod on 2/25 which buy.com says was shipped on 2/25. However 3 days later the tracking number they provided is not found in USPS tracking system. After contacting buy.com Customer Service I was told that the item was shipped via APX and more than likely would not be trackable. They say to wait 7-10 days and if I don't receive anything to fill out a lost order claim on their web site. When asking what service (1st Class, 3rd Class, 2-day, etc) was used to ship my iPod they say they don't know. They say I need to contact the shipper to find out but cannot tell me a phone number for the shipper? You must have patience if you're going to order from buy.com. I'm crossing my fingers.

"Horrible! Purchased camera online. Item availability was 1-2 business days. Two weeks later received email stating that the item was back ordered. Cust Serv rep said that the item must of went on back-order status in the 24 hours it takes to process the order. I called them several times in the past 4 months I've been waiting for the camera and was quickly told that I could cancel the order at any time. Sure they didn't bill my card but FOUR MONTHS???? They made ZERO effort to retain my business. I see their rating is going down the tubes.. I'll take my business elsewhere from now on!"

"Ordered a PS2 video game from them on the 19th. Website stated it would ship in 1-2 business days. On the 23rd, I received an email saying "We are still working on shipping the following item(s)..." I called customer service and they said the item is on backorder and should be shipped within 2 weeks. I asked them to cancel order and the customer service agent responded, "It is cancelled and you will receive a confirmation email within 24 hours." 48 hours passed and the next thing I know is that they charge my credit card. I called again and they said it shipped on the 24th, which does me no good since I bought the item locally after the order was cancelled. They have absolutely no control over their inventory and shipping system. It is the 2nd time in the past few months that they have bitten me like this. Pay the extra few cents and get it from somewhere that can provide the service you need with representatives who can speak better English."
"I purchased a cell phone/service plan with 2 advertised rebates, one for $50, one for $75. "You make $125". When order arrived it only included a $50 rebate form. Buy.com have stalled and ignored my complaints for 6 weeks, today I'm finally told that there is no $75 rebate unless I can prove it. Unfortunately I don't take screen caps of web pages I make orders from. Thanks to their stalling it is also too late to return my order without incurring a huge early termination fee from the network provider. I certainly wont be using buy.com again."
"This store Sucks. I placed my order for a single In-Stock item wich said ships in 1-2 days. It took them 2 days for my order status to change from 'processing' to 'sent to warehouse'. So I called customer service and they told me that once the order is 'sent to the warehouse' it takes 1-2 business days to ship it out. So, essentially it is going to take them 4 business days to process and ship a single item. That is just not acceptable. When I explained this to the Indian-accented customer service rep, he only repeated over and over that my order will ship in 1-2 days and offered no other explaination.
I will never order from them again. What poor service! "
