"This purchase was a nightmare. I bought a hard drive and controller card from buy.com which was misaddressed on their end. They neglected to enter one of the fields that I had put in my shipping address, which caused me hours of trouble. Dealing with their customer support was unbearable, and it took months for me to get my rightful refund. They put the onus on the customer to do all of the work, and because of that I will never purchase from them again. They have great prices, but good luck if soemthing goes wrong with your order. In dealing with Amazon or Newegg in these kinds of situations I've always been very pleased with how they were handled. Buy.com is the complete opposite."

"Never ever again will I buy from this incompetent vendor.

Ordered some Etymotic headphones on the 12th. Said they shipped the 13th. USPS got the package on the 18th. Then it sat there for a week because (I find out after) that Buy.com put an old address on the package even though the order showed the correct one.

I call to get my money back. I'm told I have to wait 15 days so they can "process" the package.

Gd bunch of theifs is what they are.

"I purchased 3 items on 2 orders (Hawking technology, antenna, booster, and adaptor). First of all it took forever for the antenna and booster to come, but when they showed up, there was no adaptor. With out the adaptor the antenna and booster are useless to me. I waited a few more days for the adaptor to show up, and it never has. I returned the other 2 items to buy.com, and filed a claim for the missing item. After many e-mails I was credited for the items I returned, but buy.com refuses to credit me for the postage to ship the items back to them. Furthermore I have yet to be credited for the missing item. - I was a good buy.com customer and made many purchases from them, but since they can't even give me a store credit for $15 (my shipping cost to return the items)I think they don't want my continued business."

"Purchased EZ Switch 8505T for $46.99. Item was in stock. Order got to warehouse where it now sits showing "on order" or basically out of stock. On 1/8/05 buy.com sends me an e-mail telling me the item is in stock. I wait & wait and still no shipment. Contact support via e-mail (Useless effort) and told to cancell the order and reorder. Since November they raised the price 4 times. It now sells for $64.79. No wonde they want me to cancel and reorder. Forget it. I want my order shipped."

"Purchased Altec Lansing Speakers (XA 3021)on 1/6/05 (Thur)and speakers were delivered on 1/10/05 (Mon). The product box was properly packaged into a larger box with peanuts, which was good because the outside box had slight damage on one corner. The speakers were not damaged at all. Overall my shopping experience was quite excellent. This has been my second or third purchase from Buy.com, and as far as I can remember, all of my purchases have been completed without any problems."

"Ordered a ethernet drive and next day got an email that said, "on backorder" with no idea when it would ship. Item showed "in stock" when I ordered. Same email asked if I wanted to "cancel order". I waited until 1/21 and it continued to show "sent to warehouse". If they ask you if you want to cancel, you better cancel and go to your next supplier. "

"I have only placed three orders with this company. I ordered a LCD monitor because of a sale ad in my e-mail. I also purchased the 2-yr warrantee. My order summary states "E-mailed on 12/17/2004 to (Please allow 4 days for e-mail delivery)" I never received the e-mail. What takes so long for an e-mail? I placed a claim with Buy.Com and was told to wait 10-15 business days. I never heard from that. I called Customer "Support" on 1/14/05 and got an overseas call center. The person told me they would escalate the claim to the "Concern Department" (whatever that is!) and to wait 3-5 days and they MUST respond within that time. Still haven't heard from them so today I called to see what the holdup is and was told that they escalated it to a "supervisor" and to wait an additional 2-3 business days. I would NEVER buy from them again and dread the thoughts of trying to use the warrantee if it ever gets here. STAY AWAY FROM THESE PEOPLE!!!"

"I ordered an AOC LM520 LCD and requested to cancel it within 2 minutes of placing the order b/c wrong credit card was used. I then purchased another one with the correct card which arrived promptly. The first package was then mailed to somebody in Fontana, CA and delivered the next day and signed by ROLANDO.

There policy says I must wait 16 days before I can file a lost package claim which takes another 10-17 days to process.

There is NO reason it should take a month for them to look at this problem and issue a claim, if my bank can do it in 3-4 days with them being alot smaller of a company,then they shouldn't have any problem.

"BUYER BEWARE! I ordered Dell speakers. I received a broken package and one of the pieces was missing. It was a Christmas present for my son and I notified the company on the 26th. "1st order: Bought a USB thumbdrive. I live in Oregon, they shipped it to California. USPS tracking showed an obvious mistake on their part, but they wouldn't ship me a new item or refund my money without making me wait 21 days (their policy).

2nd order: Bought a Rio Carbon with a coupon, changed my mind and requested order cancellation about 8 hours later. They cancelled my coupon, and shipped the order anyways to charge me full price. Now I have to pay to ship it back since they didn't ship UPS with signature requirement.

"They have changed. In the "old" days I never had problem with this merchant. Now, it has gotten worse. They list an item I ordered in stock for over 2 weeks but they don't ship it. It has been sitting as "sent to warehouse" for over a week and nothing happens...

I emailed their support to find out what is going on, but just got a 'standard' response to be patient.

Based on most recent reviews, I am not alone here to say that buy.com should be avoided.

"I've seen a lot companies cross the line, but Buy.com seriously lost their mind. I'm talking about being completely bonkers. I'm a college student that made the biggest mistake of my life dealing with them. I'm even losing sleep over this because they have my money tied up.
I ordered an item OCTOBER 9th 2004 because of a deal they were offering. I bought 2 lexar jump drives. Somehow, it gets backordered within a few hours. First I email them to cancel my order within 2 days because of the out of stock issue. I get no response within a week so I call them to make sure the item is canceled and sure enough, the CSR tells me it's been canceled. DECEMBER 16th, 2004 -- I get package from buy.com on my doorstep. I don't even waste my time opening it -- i refuse package. They recieve package on Decemember 22nd and now it's January 20th and I still haven't gotten my money back -- 160 dollars and to a college student like myself, that's a fortune! I've called numerous times and Indian folks refuse to help me. They keep telling me to wait 3 to 5 business days and by my count, i've waited over 20 business days already. First of all I dont understand why i takes 7 business days to get an approval for cancelation. Second, I don't understand why I had to wait a set number of days after they recieved the item before i can make a credit claim. Third, who's running this circus? If any of you know how I can fix this problem and get my money back as soon as possible, I would so appreciate the help. E-mail me or PM me. Twenty-Two years on this Earth and I'm certain of two things: 50 clowns coming out of a trunk of a hatchback isn't magic and buy.com is out of control.
