I wasn't expecting to recieve it for 2 weeks (which is exactly what was described in the free shipping option), but got it in 2 business days. Sweet!

"I want to commend Buy.com for taking care of me on an issue about free shipping. Accidently, the order went through without giving me the free shipping, which was part of the reason I bought from them. I e-mailed back immediately and left instructions to cancel the order and let me re-order or to refund the shipping fee for two day Fedex. They refunded the shipping and made me a satisfied customer, as my argument for the free shipping should have been the default choice, as I had not asked for two-day. They restored my confidence in there being a few good companies out there on the net that want return customers. I am satisfied and want to pass on that they do care about customer satisfaction."
"Ordered a Princeton sl70 monitor on April 16. Advised it was shipped same day by still not arrived as of May 9. Three weeks is simply ridiculous even for budget shipping. No response to my inquiries for status from Buy or their shipping partner APX. The small cost savings on this item was not worth it. Had I ordered the item from Newegg, I would have paid less than $10 more and had the item in 3 business days. Never again."
"Absolutely the WORST experience I have ever had with an online company. I ordered a set of Logitech speakers and two Sandisk 256mb memory cards on 4/22/04. I received a notice that the speakers were being shipped on 4/23. I received the speakers on 5/1 after sitting in some APX truck or warehouse for a few days. Slow delivery for sure, but really no big deal at this point. The Sandisk cards however were not shipped and the status was changed to partial order on its' way. I emailed cust support at buy.com and asked what was the delay? After two days a reply came that the items were now on backorder. Their website at that time DID show the cards in stock but at a higher price....can you say bait and switch? I then cancelled the order for the memory cards on Tuesday, May 4, 2204 via their website. (BTW,ordered 2 cards via Newegg on 5/4 and were received on 5/7) I received no reply from buy.com until this morning 5/8/04 that stated the memory cards had been shipped on 5/7/04. Unbelievable!! I will either refuse delivery if I'm home when they get here or will RMA and of course have to pay return shipping. Stay far, far away from this outfit! Absolutely the worst customer "service" ever and their shipping sucks to say the least. "

"I have purchased a scanner (MicroTek X6el), video card (AIW 7500), sound card (Audigy2 ZS Platinum) CF card and several other items over the past 4 years from Buy.com and have been more than impressed. They have always been prompt and followed through with everything as expected. Compared with all my other online experiences, regarding service only Amazon can compete. My scanner was actually DOA and once I figured that out, I called Cust. Svc. at 11:30 on a Friday night and they made arrangements for me to return it. They then shipped out a new one which has worked fine for 3+ years now, no questions asked. They have great deals, often with no shipping, and in fact with a buy.com rebate and Special Of The Day, I just saved >$85 on my $200 soundcard compared to local retail prices. And don't forget to go through ebates.com for even more savings."
"This is by far the worst experience I've had with any reseller thus far. I placed an order for Gen2 Portable Speakers, the item was later shipped according to an e-mail notification I was sent. The item was completely untrackeable, and for more than 2 weeks I was completely clueless as to where my package was. The package was delivered to my workplace which has a receiving area, so any delivery attempt made cannot fail because the receiving dept. is always there to accept any and all courier packages. Upon looking through my checking account I found that I was credited back the price of the speakers, and I was not even notified. I was not credited back the S/H. Buy.com has yet to inform me of any problems with the shipment, and I can't even report any problems with the order yet because 13 business days (2 1/2 weeks) must pass since the shipment date of the order before I can file any claim. The website does not have any sort of e-mail for me to contact them about this order. So basically I have paid money to this company for nothing."

"TERRIBLE shipping times. when you use free shipping 7-9 business days means more like 10-12, which in reality, means you'll get it in 3 weeks. COMPLETELY unacceptable, amazon's free shipping can be at your door by the end of the week. In short, APX blows, buy.com shouldn't have signed that contract, its obvious they provide terrible service. The tracking numbers they provide do not work, although the status says "shipped" it just means they shipped it to AP/USPS to rot in a corner somewhere. "Buy.com sent me a 10% off coupon via e-mail. I haven't bought there in a while and they wanted me back. I was in need of a Compact Flash for my new digital camera so I thought they deserved a look. I found a SanDisk 1Gb card for a good price so I ordered it. Two days later, Buy.com sends me an e-mail to say they have cancelled my order...no reason, just cancelled. I was miffed, so I contacted the support dept via e-mail and received a reply stating that the order was cancelled at my request. No, no quite. I searched their website for a phone number so I could call them...no luck. A quick Yahoo search provided me with a number. The woman who helped me said my order was cancelled because the item was out of stock and their supplier could not supply any more. So why did their website list the item as ships in 1-2 days? And why did it take them 2 days to tell me? I asked Buy.com to answer these questions...they have not."
"I purchased a Yamaha ap-u70 sound card. But my $50 rebate was denied, for no reason.
It was my first and last purhcase with buy.com. I frequently shop at amazon, and frankly, buy.com offers no motivation for me to shop there. I am amazed that this company hasn't gone bankrupt.
Also, the fact that they dont have phone costumer support is really frustrating. Overall, i would stay away from buy.com just because their Costumer support is impossible via phone."
"I ordered a Palm Tungsten C on April 6th, Buy.com claimed to have shipped on April 7th (and billed my credit card on April 8th). But as of April 26th, I have not received my order. On April 14th, when I inquired about the tracking number NOT working, I was sent an email from a third-party carrier (APX) stating that all they did was give the buy.com packages to the USPS and the tracking numbers they sent me was non-functional. In other words, buy.com is clueless where my package is/was. When I looked around buy.com's website for a phone number, I couldn't find one so was forced to use their email system (again) to submit a lost shipment claim. According to the website, I will not receive a credit (or reply) for another 14 days! In other words, by the time I receive (if ever) my order, I can't return it because of their 30 day return policy (from when buy.com ships, not from when I receive it).
Anyways, my credit card company will be helping in disputing the charge.
Buy.com's service is much worse than last year (last year buy.com had a "hidden" shipping & handling surcharge but were claiming "free" shipping) AND there is NO (easily located) PHONE NUMBER for customer service ... it is all email now.
Buy.com's prices are not much better than Amazon.com or Newegg.com - the other two companies have better customer services than buy.com."

"I ordered a Logitech Cordless Optical Trackman through Buy.com. They had the lowest price, not to mention free shipping! Some person below griped about the free shipping, but it plainly says on the Buy.com site that the free shipping takes 7 to 9 business days.
Anyways, I ordered the item with free shipping on 04/20/04, and it arrived today 04/23/04! I am very impressed at the speed of the shipping and with Buy.com overall. I have ordered from them before and will again. My experience was completely unlike some of the other Buy.com reviews that I have read on this site.
I ordered a replacement toner cartridge for my Samsung ML-1750 Laser printer on 04/21/04 from Buy.com, so I will post how that went once I receive the item.
UPDATE: I received my replacement toner cartridge today, 04/26/04, well ahead of schedule. Again, I am very pleased with the service and speed of Buy.com. I will continue to purchase from them.
UPDATE (04/13/05): I have made several additional orders from Buy.com in the past year. Every one has went almost flawlessly, and I have received each and every product that I have ordered in a timely manner."
