"Horrible, Horrible business. Stay far away. Buyer pays for buy.com's mistakes. Not a customer is always right type of place. Placed an order for a video card and they charged my card then waited almost 7 days to tell me that the order had been canceled because they mucked up the price. Is that my fault??? Then they give me a 5 dollar gift certificate for holding my 250 bucks in purgatory for a week and still counting. Never again, EVER."

"I placed an order, only to find something else I want 2 min later. I went to cancel my order, but it's not there - it say it can take up to 5 min for it to show up. I come back 20 min later and the order is there, but no "cancel order" button, as it promises. I call them up after finding their number via google (since they don't list it on their website) and they tell me that they remove the "cancel order" button after 15 min. Yes, that's right, you only have a 10 min window between 5 min after you place an order to 15 min after you place an order. After complaining, they agree to place a "cancel order request" and I was told they'd email me within 24hrs on the status. After 48hrs, I heard nothing. I call them back only to be told that it takes 3-5days for that request to process. If the order is shipped before it's processed, there's nothing I can do. I've never heard of such preposterous cancellation policy. It's amazing how hard they make to contact customer support. It's even more amazing how completely unhelpful and unreasonable they are once you do get a hold of them. I'll never buy from them again and I encourage everyone else to do the same. Their price may be reasonable but their policies are extremely unfriendly to the consumer."

"TERRIBLE customer service. I bought a graphics card last week. I waited 5 days and my order is still "processing". Later I find out that buy.com never intended to honor the deal and my order was canceled. DO NOT BUY FROM THESE INCOMPETENT PEOPLE THEY ARE DISHONEST. "

"This is the second time that I have made a purchased from Buy.com and had the same results. The item shows in stock. I order, the purchase is confirmed , an email is sent confirming the order and is now in the "processing" stage. 5 days later the item is now backordered . That's were my first order stopped. It stayed in the "processing" mode for months. I finally had to cancelled my order and made the purchase from a more reliable source. Now I have attempted at making another purchase from Buy.com. This order was for two computer video cards. Again same results as the first purchase. This time I paid with Paypal. Sorry I did. Buy.com has been paid in full and I have nothing. There is no place on their site to cancel my order. I will now have to dispute the purchase with Paypal. NEVER again will Buy.com get my buisness. Their Bate and Switch will cost them. STAY AWAY!!!!"

"I bought a video card from them while their page says in stock. 5 days later it's still processing. Holds my money and doesn't even contact to tell me the statues of my order. Buy.com have terrible customer service. They don't have anything in stock. If it is it's some over priced junk nobody wants. I advice not to shop from this company. If it has a good price it won't be honored. They will just take your money and hold it long as possible and not ship items."

"HORRIBLE customer support, traded email six times with them about a product I had paid for but the order was canceled on me, FOR NO REASON! After the sixth email they began IGNORING ALL MY EMAILS! Called Customer Support which forced me to wait a day while they "investigate" this order. Unethical business conduct, wish I never bought from them and will never even take another look at them again"

"Do not buy from these guys, BIG WARNING*. They label items as new, ended up receiving refurbished products. They are unethical. I returned the merchandise to them and to this day it's been a month, still no refund. Tracking number states returned. Their customer service are non-existent. STAY AWAY FROM BUY.COM."

"Never fails,hind sight is 20/20,as I should have researched here on resellerratings.com first before ordering and I had a sense "to not buy" from this merchant.
It's been over a week since ordering and my order is still in the processing mode.
Stated it would be shipped in 1 to 2 days.
I have requested a refund and will look elsewhere for this product.
I will keep this post updated.

Also I have purchased this product from eBay.

buy.com is or seems to be a drop ship type of merchant,using 3rd. party sellers.

and resolved this issue to my satisfaction.

"I had 4 packages stolen off of my porch on Wednesday the 17th of Dec, one of which was from buy.com. After contacting Fedex and the local authorities, I began contacting the vendors. However, Buy.com does NOT have a contact phone number any where on their site. They do indeed have a support number, but you have to google to high and hell to find it. And when you call it, you'll know why they don't post the number. I was on hold for 2 hours before I gave up. The next day I tried again and after a mere 1.5 hours this time, I got a hold of someone who clearly barely spoke English and told me they couldn't help me and to go back to the website to submit a claim. So I did. The day after Christmas I got an automated response saying they would look into my claim, and then late the same night another email saying they would refund the purchase. It took about a week to post to my credit card. And while I am happy that I didn't lose out on any money or have to dispute anything with Visa, however the email-only customer service, them not offering to reship or provide a comparable product, and being brushed off by their phone support have taught me a lesson. Buy.com is not for me. "

"BE WARNED, BUY.COM is simply a drop shipper, very strict return policies, not worht he headache STAY AWAY !!

I fairness .. here is the situation .. I bought $924 worth of Creative Zen X-FI 16MB wireless devices at a great price in late Nov 2008. I determined I only needed 4 and Buy.Com id an awesome job processing a return for 1 unit. We opened the other 4 units on Xmas (well beyond the 14 day return window) and 1 of the units was defective ! After calling Buy.Com Customer Service at 1-***-***-**** they would not accept the defective device as they had already accepted a return outside the 14 day return window. The FACT that the device was DEFECTIVE did not matter. I offered to pay shipping and accept a replacement unit (ie, no refund)Buy.Coms' answer was NO .. so much for their stated Satisfaction Guaranteed Policy !

so please be aware of the return policy, open all items as soon as you get them, test them and if you have a defective unit, expect to pay the 15% RESTOCKING FEE and get 85% OF WHAT YOU PAID BACK !! WHAT A DEAL .. STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY

"AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! Pure and simple FRAUD. This company is in the business of defrauding the unsuspecting. Did you know you have 14 days from the order date (and they determine the date) to file an RMA! Did you know it takes them 3 days to prepare the shipment and 9 days to "ship" the product from CA to the east coast? You basically have a day to file an RMA. Send an email to customer service and you get an automated email directing you to..... SEND AN EMAIL TO CUSTOMER SERVICE. AVOID! AVOID! AVOID! Go with Newegg or Amazon. Don't reward these crooks!"

"STAY AWAY from this unethical merchant. Read below.

I placed an order for an Nvidia GTX 260 video card. I then received an email saying they cannot authorize the charge on my card and they gave me a link to update cc details.

I went online and carefully checked all details. I've also checked with CC issuing bank. I've successfully ordered with that card from BuyNow (Buy.com face there) on Amazon and card was accepted.

After a couple of attempts to authorize payment on their web page, they've canceled the order.

I went online and the price was increased with about 30 USD and none were in stock. Where was my canceled order item?

Either way, I managed to locate a phone number to contact their customer support. This number is 1-***-***-****. After some good minutes, I got a customer service rep on the phone.

She didn't know how to help me and she forwarded my call to the sales department. After 20 minutes of waiting on hold, I got a hold of a rep there. The rep was puzzled as he didn't know how to handle this situation. He forwarded my call again to the Canceled orders department.

Here (after other 15-20 minutes of waiting) a person named Nichole (she said she is the only Nichole there) promised me she would send an email the same business day (December 31st) with details on CC denied payment - she suggested that my bank was blocking Buy.com requests and I wanted to take this issue to my bank (CitiBank). She did not send this email (I've checked the bulk and spam folders and I receive emails from other parties).

buy.com denies purchases even if the order was placed if the advertised price is too low.

Prices on 2 video cards same type were "boosted" with at least 30 USD to up to 100 USD in a matter of 2 days.

Avoid buy.com and make your purchase at a reputable reseller. You'll save time and headaches dealing with a company that SHOULD NOT be around with their deceptive business practices.
