"Actually I have had two orders that Buy.com has messed up. The first one they sent me the wrong product and I had to send it back with an RMA#. I have yet to receive a refund and it has been over a month. Once sending that item back they said it would be quicker to just reorder and wait on the refund so I did and the next time they sent me a refurbished item for a new price. I offered to keep the item at a reduced price and they declined. So I had to send that item back also. I finally did receive that refund yesterday 12/11/08 but have not received the 104.99 refund from the first order they messed up. This is a very unreliable company to do business with from my experience. I gave them several chances to make it right till I have had to sick my credit card company on them to get my refunds back. They DO NOT care about customer service issues and they will keep your money as long as they can to make the interest off of you till they HAVE to send you the refund by force. BUYERS BEWARE!!!!"
"Said order shipped on 12/01/08. On 12/11/08 the tracking number still shows record. Sent 5 emails and received only one responce unrelated to my email. My order before this i had to preorder. when the item shipped they charged the old higher price and not the new lower price."

Showed an item as available, I ordered it. Nothing much happened with the order and it showed as processing for 10 days (The listing said ships within 1 - 2 business days). I tried enailing them and got no response. I found a customercare number on this page, called them only to find my order was internally backordered and this information does not show on the website. They could not promise me any shipping timetable. I was never sent any email regarding the status of my order. I finally had to 'request' a cancellation on my order.
I'll never buy from these folks again."
"Buy.com is apparently the online tool of "All sales final" merchants who choose to be deceptive about that policy. They claim you can return items but do not include the necessary contact info, invoice or reference numbers. It takes a minimum of three contacts to get any reply and the third one has to be a little snotty. I will NOT use this site again."
"DO NOT USE BUY.COM !!!! I tried to place a order 2 times through pay pal with no success so I went and ordered it through Buy.com. A few hours later I get 3 emails confirming my sales for 3 of the same items. I tried to email the company to cancel my order, by the the time the responded they told me it was to late it was already being shipped. WOW record time less than 12 hours. "I ordered a laptop from Buy.com on 11/29/08. The item was through a third party seller,(Datavis.com), although it was shown as being in stock, and would ship in 1-2 business days.
I soon received an email confirmation of my order, and a temporary authorization was placed on my credit card.
On 12/2/08, I received an email from Datavis.com, advising me that my item was not in stock, but may be available to ship the following week. The email also advised that they did have in stock a more expensive model that could ship immediately, which read suspiciously like a bait and switch tactic to me.
I responded with an email advising, that if the item I had purchased was not available to ship within the 1-2 business days as stated on Buy.com's website, to cancel my order and refund my credit card. To date I have had no further response from Datavis.com.
On 12/3/08, I received an email from Buy.com advising me that my order had been cancelled.
I searched and learned from various online sources that Datavis.com is apparently well known for this method of selling, so I emailed Buy.com and advised them of my treatment, and asked them to expedite the removal of the temporary authorization from my credit card.
On 12/6/08, still having had no response, I again emailed Buy.com and requested that they close my account and remove my address from their mailing list.
I have purchased several items from Buy.com over the past couple of years, and this is the first time I have had any problems, or had to correspond with their customer service department.
Their apparent lack of concern for their customers, their total lack of response to my emails, and their indifference regarding their third party sellers, caused me to close down my account, and I will never purchase from them again.
Oh, and the temporary authorization is still tying up the available funds on my credit card..."

I will and will always purchase from buy.com. the only hiccup was when i paid with one of those visa giftcards because my order did not match the billing address. One phone call fixed it immediately and i still received my products within a more than acceptable time frame"
"Ordered TRENDnet n-series router and two 802.11n wireless network cards. All three arrived in seperate boxes via FedEx less than a week later. Packaged well (Glad to see no Styrofoam peanuts used). You can track your package by checking your account online. They do not email the tracking# to you but do tell you when your order ships. Items were exactly as I ordered & so far, I've used the router and one card. Both work flawlessly. Shipping the items separately seems wasteful, but shipping was free, so I cannot complain. I will buy from them again. Before you buy, Google for "Buy.com coupon codes"; it can save you a dollar or two. It worked for me."

"Buy.com 'could' be a good source for buying things. However they are only a broker and don't actually warehouse any inventory themselves. That's not a bad thing, but it probably means there's more red tape involved. My order started out with stunning speed. Immediately the wheels were turning. I rec'd a confirmation email that I my Paypal account was charged, then soon after that, confirmation that my product would ship. Unfortunately my Paypal account uses a PO Box, and Buy.com doesn't ship to a box. But they did anyway. After searching for a phone number, their customer service said that they can't change the shipping address. FedEx finally agreed to re-route the box. The product was defective (not Buy.com's fault). The return process was ok (7 days after receiving it back seems long but. . .). Then I emailed them and said would they correct the address on the return product? Nope. Has to stay the same as the original order. Man, like pulling teeth. Customer service are nice enough but you get the feeling something isn't working right. It's just not Newegg if you know what I mean.
Yeah, it was free shipping and the price was briefly another $10 cheaper on a webcam than anywhere else, but the headaches. Ugh! The replacement was on backorder too, so I called (on my dime) and cancelled. Still waiting to see if the credit goes through.
Sometimes saving a few bucks isn't really saving anything at all.
Update (12/15/08) It's now been almost 2 weeks waiting on my credit to go through and still nothing. The customer service person sounded like a parrot. She just kept repeating some company line over and over without really being able to do anything. I've now had to file a complaint with my credit card company. Yeah, nice. You may fit through the crack and have a good experience but do you really want to roll the dice?"
"I bought through Buy.com and Electronic Expo is one of their "Market Place" dealers. Confirmation was promised within two business days but after four days not a word. I finally called them after my email was not answered and was told it "will ship today" but no tracking numbers yet. I've shipped through UPS and the tracking number is generated instantly so this told me it was only being shipped today because I called. Poor customer service and slow shipping! I have had good experiences with Buy.com in the past but will not buy anything through their Market Place merchants again."
