"Bought a 47" LG LCD HDTV. Great price and item was shipped on 11/26, two days after I placed the order. Received the TV four business days later using their free budget shipping option. Seems like a lot of horror stories here but my experience was good with them. They did take 2-3 business days to reply to my emails but that's the amount of time they said it would take on their website. Order tracking also wasn't available for my shipment, which they also said may not be with the budget shipping option. I got this TV for about $500 less than I could've anywhere else though. Judging by some of these reviews, I got lucky it was still in stock (even though it said it was) and it shipped quickly. I have to say, the day after I placed my order, the status went from "In Stock" to "Very Limited Stock" and then "Out of Stock" a day after that. Also, the price jumped $450 more so I got very lucky with the timing of my purchase."
"I have recently ordered Breville 800ESXL Commercial 15-Bar Triple-Priming Die-Cast Espresso Machine with a free (5-7 days) delivery. Instead of machine I got generic email with a refund note seven days later. The item was no longer available and I was out of luck. I will get refund in one to two cycles. Ha? What kind of amateur operation are they running there? In this day and age they should not sell, especially on line, items they do not have available."
"I ordered an Eye-Fi SD card from Buy.com on 11/28/08, which was delivered on 12/03. I received an order confirmation from them as well as a tracking number. I also received confirmation of my payment from PayPal. My order information also was posted on my account page on Buy.com.
Upon checking my PayPal Activity Report today I was charged twice from Buy.com, once for the item that I ordered ($65.26) and another invoice (Transaction ID XXM99802FC648620G) for $55.77 - the item price minus shipping.
I did not receive any email notifications of this order from Buy.com or PayPal nor is the transaction posted on my account page on Buy.com.
An exhaustive search on the Buy.com website yielded no customer service telephone number but I was able to find one using Google ***-***-****).
I spoke to Don in CS who told me I must have ordered the item twice and if the second one shows up I should refuse delivery and contact USPS. Note, the item I did receive came via FedEx. Don was rude and after 15 or 20 minutes we were 'disconnected'.
I called back and spoke to Raven, a different CS Rep who took my information and told me he would forward it to the Accounting Dept and I should hear from them within 48 hours. Raven also told me that there is a glitch in the Buy.com software which sometimes results in double billing using PayPal.
Let me repeat that:
RAVEN, A BUY.COM CUSTOMER SERVICE REP, TOLD ME THERE IS A GLITCH IN THE BUY.COM SOFTWARE WHICH SOMETIMES RESULTS IN DOUBLE BILLING USING PAYPAL.
I wonder how many of these go undetected by the account holder and also wonder how many people just give up after trying to get results using email, the only way on their site to contact Buy.com
I should have checked Reseller Ratings first and I would never have ordered from a store with a 3 of 10 rating. I am lucky that I caught this double billing on a busy PayPal business account.
Based on reviews here, I can anticipate a long, hard journey to get Buy.com to straighten out this fraud.
BEWARE - saving a few dollars on an order is not worth the potential problems. Avoid Buy.com

Bought this item and it came without owners manual or software. I found manual on line, but software "file not found". Tried to email buy,com/support and email wouldn't submit due to "valid receipt not entered"??? No explanation of what that means, or box available for receipt to be typed into if I had one.

I received my product at my house and found that it was a piece of junk and when I went to return it Buy.com won't give me an RMA for a non-defective open item. Boo. "
"I ordered a digital picture from buy.com because there was a good price on it. I received an email with in a few days saying it had shipped and providing me a tracking number. I was unable to retrieve any tracking information on my package for 7 days. Once I do get the tracking information I see that my package is still sitting in California, and is now coming via the postal service, not the fedex as originally listed. At this point I am annoyed so I contact their company service department and politely express my dissatisfaction. Their response indicates that they shipped my package 3 days after they sent me the shipping confirmation. The message also contained an entire section on how fedex can use usps shipping but your still getting fedex shipping. Apparently they must pull this bait and switch often. This is the worst online shopping experience i have ever had, and i have gone with some pretty fly by night companies in the past to try and save a buck. This is the first company that i feel has out right lied to me and has showing no interest in resolving my dissatisfaction. If you do business with these people and have a problem, expect many canned customer service response with the intent to break your will to complain."
"I purchased some items from buy.com and after 4 days noticed that my items were still in a process status. I called buy.com and was told my order was in some kind of conflict. I told them I knew by my receipt that there was a mistake on my address and could solve the conflict. I was told that I had to wait and there was nothing they could do. Poor customer service. "I'm very sure that after reading my experience you will not do business with buy.com if you haven't already. I ordered a Nokia N82 phone on 11/10/08 which was a Monday. On Thursday, customer service sent me a message saying they needed more information so they could ship the item. They requested that the credit card and driver's license of the cardholder, my mother, be scanned and printed on a form they sent. I became suspicious because, that's remedy for identity theft and so I never complied. It was the Sunday after that I read this email and asked that they cancel my order. They wrote back saying they acknowlegded the request and I was told it would take two business days for the funds to be available on the credit card. Four days passed and still nothing on the card. We had to call customer service again several times and eventually talked to a supervisor who sent the authorization to the bank to realese the funds. My mother called her bank and they told her that that it would take 30 days before the funds would be available, ridiculous. The bank explained that Buy.com is blacklisted as a company they and other's don't trust and that they are involved in gambling. They even mentioned that they have had several bad experiences with Buy.com. I personally feel that 30 days is too long, but I figure the bank has good reason for that time. The phone cost $388.99 and I honestly feel like I've lost it already.
I'm on vacation from Jamaica and intended to buy three items from Newegg.com, the phone was cheaper from Buy.com and that obviously was the only reason doing business with them. Newegg has excellent customer service and they deliver on time and I'm SO sorry I did'nt spend the extra dollars and get the phone from them instead. Furthermore, the SAME information(card # and shipping address) regarding the credit card was used for newegg and I never had a problem with my orders.
I honestly feel this company is lead buy scam artist and should be seriously investigated by the authorities. My experience along with other's clearly indicate that Buy.com should not be doing business. To avoid heartache and unnecessary anxiety....DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING FROM BUY.COM!!!"

Their customer support, tech support, and shipping support are all outsourced to different companies, so, if you have a problem with your order, the matter may remain unresolved for weeks.
On small electronics items, this seller seems to do well; however, if the order is larger than a bread box, they struggle to get it out the door. You will struggle to get someone in charge on the phone. As a result, whatever holiday/birthday you're buying for will be long passed before you receive your order.

"Not the first time I have purchased from buy.com but it will be the last. They had a good sale for the Westinghouse LVM37-W3SE the same TV I bought a few years back that I love. I got it for my parents Christmas gift and in anticipation after my order was placed I started to get the things to go with it. A new stand, I built a HTPC to use ect.
My order when I checked on it 3 days later was still "pending" so I sent them an email asking what the heck was going on. No reply, two days after that I get the automated message that they no longer have the product in stock and my order was canceled!
No need to say that not keeping track of your inventory is a major deal, and then taking so long to notify the customer of the problem is unacceptable. I am adding buy.com to my internet filters so that nobody in the house can even open there page from this point forward.

"I ordered a hard drive on Sept. 24th and paid for it using PayPal. My credit card was charged and the PayPal transaction went through. However, it was out of stock even though it was said to be in stock when I purchased it. So, I waited. I received a courtesy email on Oct. 18th informing me that my order was still out of stock. I received an identical email on Oct. 24th. Still out of stock in spite of what their web site said. So, I waited...
I waited until Nov. 1st when I decided it was time to cancel my order. I received a cancellation request confirmation email. Six more days of waiting. I sent another request on Nov. 7th. Nothing. I tried to file a dispute with PayPal on Nov. 19th. Too late. It had been more than 45 days. Not their problem. I sent another one. Nothing.
I found a phone number to their customer service department (not on their web page). Called it, but it had been changed. Now it is 1 ***-***-****. After talking to a customer service rep, I found that the first two requests had been ignored. Only the last one had been filed even though I received three identical emails confirming my cancellation requests. How would I have known!
I will call back to make sure it goes through. I hope that I get a refund this time. I will never shop with them again. Good luck to those with back-ordered items."
