"Do NOT buy from Buy.com period!!!. Good prices don't make it a better deal if you can have trouble getting help. Their customer support, from 1 to 10, is 1. They communicate just trough emails. There is not a phone number you can call. They list products in stock when they really are backordered. I placed an order on 10/17/08 and today 11/18/08 it is still in process because they are still waiting for the product to arrive to their facilities. I tried several times to cancel my order and the instructions on the emails I received from customer support are all wrong. There is no way you can cancel the order. Spend your money some where else. They lost more than 1 customer here. Buy.com is not even registered with Reseller Ratings.com and still you can see they have so bad ratings and reviews. ResellerRatings.com should stop advertising their specials in the Hot Deals Alert emails and get the customers trapped in Buy.com bad customer experience."

"Ordered 2 Xbox 360 Games the previous evening with overnight shipping. The next afternoon it's still on "processing". So now judging from some of the reviews on here I probably won't get it till like next month even though I requested overnight shipping when I placed my order. Very disappointed as I've been told this is a reliable site. Should of just went with Gamestop like I should have and paid the extra couple bucks..at least I know they're reliable when it comes to on time delivery."

"Website stated in stock and would ship in 2 to 3 business days. AFter 10 business days and 3 emails I received an email that said it was not in stock and they could not give me an estimated ship date. I wonder how much money Buy.com is holding for customers who have placed orders and are waiting on orders that never have expected ship dates. Requested to cancel order, received email instructions that were not accurate. Called customer service and they can only request to cancel and "it may take 3 to 5 business days." Credit Card buyers, don't waste your time, call your credit card company and request a chargeback. This will cost Buy.com a chargeback fee and discourage this type of deceptive advertising of "in stock.""

"I finally find the time to write the review after 6 months. To make the long story short for those who wish not to read the whole story, buy.com service was great, the product condition was as claimed and the shipment was prompt. I received the Philips DVDR3576H 4 days after the order. The package is a bit on the weak side (just what looked like a "reconditioned" cardboard) but no harm done .

At the time, the Philips DVDR3576H was just released to replace an older model and it was next to impossible to find one short of the full price until I found it on buy.com for a small discount. I ordered late that night and was shocked to find, the next morning, poor rating at Resellerratings which I check often before any online purchase. I called buy.com to cancel the order 20 hours after the order was made and was kindly told that the order has been shipped! In my mind, I thought that this was a bunch of bull from a bad seller. Shame on me. The order showed up 4 days later and the dvr works well as expected.

I don't doubt the dissatisfied statements about this seller on this site. Just that mine turned out well and I want to share my story. By the way, I also realized that I bought an internet phone more than 1.5 years ago sight unseen and it was also a good experience.

"Buy.com is always my 1st choice for online shopping. The only time I do not buy from them is when another reputable online store got them beat with the price. All else equal, Buy.com is it for me. I recently bought an item that wasn't as I expected it to be though the product description was accurate. However, when I got my hands on it, it was dissapointing. Buy.com quikly took care of the problem and gave me a full refund after they received it back from me.

"Buy.com fraudulently misrepresents and sells products that they cannot deliver.

I ordered a Sansa Sandisk e260 refurbished MP3 player from the Buy.com website. The description of the item clearly stated (and still states) that it supported Audible content and that it supported SDHD memory cards.

When I received the item it was an early version 1 of the product and did not support either Audible content or SDHD memory. I called customer support and returned the item. They sent me another player that also did not support Audible content. I repeated this process 5 times over a 4 month period.

I spoke with customer support, I spoke with supervisors and I mailed letters to them. They finally admitted that they are only a drop ship company and have no control over what is shipped. They admitted that they could not send me a player that supported Audible content.
However, even today, if you order the Sansa e260 player on their website it still says that it supports Audible content even though they have admitted to me that they cannot fulfill this order.

This is fraud. I ordered the product specifically to listen to Audible books. They know that the player does not support this, but they continue to represent that it does.

I had tried sending email through their website, but found that they never replied to it. Since their phone number is not stated anywhere on their website, I thought I would provide it in case anyone else is scammed like me. Buy.com support phone number: ***-***-****.

"I ordered a Belkin Wireless Repeater from Buy.com on 11-5-08. I searched many sites and they not only had the lowest price on the internet but free shipping also.
I purchased the item and it was after several emails from Buy.com acknowledging the order, the item arrived via FedEx on 11-10-08.
Very good service and fast shipping. The item arrived as described and was new sealed in the box.
This is a direct opposite from eCost that ships refurbished items they describe as NEW.

"SCAM ARTISTS! The so-called 'refurbished' (a clearly used iPod Nano that had been clumsily shrink wrapped to a piece of cardboard - no manual, no Apple product information, etc.) iPod Nano that I purchased failed in less than a month.

I've posted 3 messages to their so-called customer service page on the Buy.com website and still no resolution. To add insult to injury, the followup link they provide in their response emails ("Please let us know if this e-mail resolved your question") does not work.

Poor customer service? No, this is consumer fraud, pure and simple!

Avoid this company like the plague!!

"really poor customer service. I have emailed them multiple time and only got computer responses. I asked to get a call because they do not provide a customer service phone #. I had received a broken gps with missing parts. I called the manufacturer and they told me it would be best to just return it. I shipped the broken unit back and buy.com charged me 15% restocking fee for a broken item + shipping. I am out $28 bucks with nothing to show for it other than a huge headache. Will not shop there again!"

"Nothing but a scam, I bought a device from them thinking, ok good price and they seem to be halfway reputable, but was I ever mistaken. They took the money and after 12 days I recieved a broken product, I tried everything I could different computers and software but the device wouldnt not turn on. I contacted them only to get a reply of (Yes we can help just let us know the UPC barcode and what kind of condition the package is in) there is NO reply email, phone number, or anything other form of contact. I attempt to reply to the email they sent only to get denied. I send another help ticket through their site, not email, only this time they say (Note that we cannot honor your request for a return since the 14-day return policy has lapsed) Well WTF it took 12 days to get here and 3 more to contact them cause they didnt reply to my 2 other tickets I sent. So in short they took the money and said F U then ran away, they wont even return me email tickets or phone calls. WHAT A SCAM!"
