"Their return policy is unacceptable, especially concerning Christmas gift giving. On my billing statement there is a 14 day return policy stated even though the original terms of agreement leads one to believe that there is a 30 day policy. The refurbished MP3 product I ordered turns out to be defective as it will not hold a charge. Being as the gift was opened after the 14 day period (before time to tell if it actually worded) the company is refusing to consider a return."

My first order they sent me the wrong item. I e-mailed them the same day that I received the item. I then got a computer generated e-mail back giving me another address to e-mail if that e-mail did "solve my problem". This went on for some time, and by the time I finally got a person to read my e-mail, it had been 14 days since I ordered the item and they refused to deal with it since it was past the 14 day return period.
Second time I ordered from them was because the item was suppose to be free with a mail in rebate from Buy.com. I mailed in the rebate with all required forms via certified mail, but never received the rebate. Every time I contact Buy.com they said it was coming and just wait a few more weeks, until finally I received and e-mail stating that rebates for the item I ordered would not be issued. This is clearly fraudulent, and I never would have placed that second order if I had not received and e-mail from Buy.com specifically advertising the free item with rebate.
Buy.com stole my money twice. Please learn from my mistakes, don't do business with these people."
"NEVER EVER buy anything from Buy.com. This company is absolutely unscrupulous. If you try to contact them via e-mail, all you get is a rote reply (I don't think they even read my e-mail). If you can locate their phone number (not on their website), you will sit on hold for HOURS.
I ordered a Lenovo thinkpad, which was sent without the battery (supposed to be included). Buy.com just says it is not their responsibility and to contact the manufacturer. The manufacturer says that because the computer was purchased through Buy.com, they are not responsible either. I now have to spend over $150 more to purchase the battery separately.
I will never EVER purchase anything from Buy.com again."
"Bought book "1984". Description was in english and nothing in the descrition said Spanish. Received spanish version of the book. They refused to allow return. Nothing gave a clue that it was in spanish. Other sellers have same book but label clearly "Spanish" and some give description in spanish.
Customer service is via their web-site only. No phone number and you get a different person on every contact. They all basically tell you to drop dead and go away since they already have your money. This site is awful."

"Never thought I'd be doing this, I've bought a ton of stuff from Buy.com over the last 5 years, and everything has been to my satisfaction up until now.
Placed an order for a printer and camera, had a combined $75 rebate on it. Soon after I place the order, I see that the camera has gone on backorder. So, I request to cancel the camera and request an RMA for the printer. Next day, I receive an email from Buy.com saying that the camera has been shipped. Since I can now get the rebate, I don't send the printer back.
Yesterday, I get the camera in the mail. It's not the Polaroid T737 I ordered, it's a Kodak V803 (I saw someone else ran into the same thing). Not only that, the camera box is damaged.
Sent an email to Buy.com saying that I need the RMA for the printer extended - I didn't send it back on the original RMA because they told me the camera shipped, then it's the wrong one, so I still can't get the rebate. Buy.com has a 14 day return policy. Today I get a form letter email talking about an RMA for the camera, it's like they didn't even read the email I sent them. Requested a phone number I can call so I can talk to an actual person about this, we'll see what happens.
Guess the best way to sum it up - Buy.com is usually an excellent company, but if ANYTHING goes wrong with your order, it will be a long and painful process to getting anything resolved."
"I bought a camera from buy.com on dec 16th and forgoed the free shipping so i could receive it on time for christmas (an extra nine dollars)
A full week later, I checked on the status, and it had not even been shipped yet. I called them, after some stress trying to find their customer service number. I was placed on hold for 34 minutes until
i hung up. Over the next several days I tried calling with no luck of actually speaking to someone, just being put on hold. Finally, my order updated with a fedex tracking number. AFTER CHRISTMAS. I called again, and spoke to someone who didn't even speak english that well. She REFUSED to refund my extra shipping i paid to ensure christmas delivery, because she said it was in the "time frame" that they allow! I wanted to speak to a manager. She put me on hold again for 25 minutes and then hung up!
It arrived DEC. 29th. 13 days after I paid 3 day shipping for it. GUESS WHAT
THE WRONG CAMERA CAME. I ordered a polaroid, not a kodak!
I can't even get ahold of anyone or request an RMA online , as there is no way to select the order. I HATE BUY.COM"

"I ordered an item on December 14th that stated it was in stock and choose a delivery option that said it would be here for Christmas. My credit card was charged right away. I was sent an email letting me know it was shipped on December 18th with a tracking number that had no information. I then checked Buy.com's website and that stated it was shipped on December 21st! I have sent them numerous emails and get a generic response. I just checked the tracking number again today and it shows it sat in Dallas Texas for 10 days now. I finally called them today and after extremely long hold times was told it wasn't going to be here now until January 5th or later. They were not willing to do anything to compensate me for all the trouble and told me that there is no way to refund my money until after I refuse delivery and they get it back in their warehouse. I will never shop here again, the customer definitely comes last and they just don't care."

Within 4 days of purchase they lowered the price to $229.97 and I emailed their customer service to get a refund for the price difference. They told me since it was past their 3 days price guarantee period from my date of purchase they could do NOTHING for me. VERY POOR PRICE PROTECTION POLICY !! Well I must say I have been pleased with the service. no calls to service department so I can not relate to the frustration in getting them on the phone nor billing problems. "I order a Zune 30 GB on the day after Thanksgiving. Shortly after (later that day or the next day), Buy.com sent me an email saying that it had been shipped. I waited and waited and waited but it never arrived in the time frame that it was supped to. Yes, it was the free super saver (or whatever Buy.com calls it), but even with that type of shipping it should have arrived by that point.
Eventually, my wife sent an email to Buy.com inquiring about why the Zune hadn't arrived yet. According to the tracking via the Buy.com website, it had been picked up by Fedex. The Buy.com customer service rep give us the typical scripted answers saying that it takes 5-9 business days, etc, etc. They did, however, inform us that it had been shipped via something they call smart ship (or something like that). The way I understand this is that means Fed Ex picks up the package (because Fedex picks up all of Buy.com's packages) but it was then supposed to have been handed off to USPS.
The Buy.com rep asked if we wanted to submit a claim. My wife said yes, she would like to submit a claim. However, my wife said that we would much rather have the Zune if they can figure out where it was. It was agreed upon by us and Buy.com that they(Buy.com) would try to find out what happened to the Zune and that if they were unsuccessful in locating the Zune, they would credit us.
Several days later, there was still nothing new on the Zune front. The tracking status on Buy.com hadn't changed and no new info from Buy.com was sent to my email or via phone call. I called Buy.com and asked if they had any idea as to the location of my Zune. I told them that this thing is a Christmas present for my son. I informed them that we called Fed Ex and Fed Ex said that they never even received the package in the first place. The Buy.com rep gave the same scripted answers as before (5-9 days, blah, blah, blah). By this point, I was getting pretty fed up.
I told the Buy.com rep that I ordered this thing nearly a month ago. According to the Buy.com website tracking, it had been shipped. So I wanted to know why it had not arrived. Finally the Buy.com rep offered up that they were anticipating a new shipment of Zune players next week if I wanted to wait for those. Keep in mind that this conversation was last week. So, the next week to which he was referring would have been right about now. I said that will be too late unless they get them in on Saturday(12/22/07) or Sunday and they over night ship it to me. He said the original order was for the super saver (5-9 day) shipping and that was how they would ship it. I asked if he was trying to tell me that Buy.com wouldn't over night ship something for me that I ordered a month ago that is supposed to have already been shipped(right after I ordered it) and has yet to arrive. He basically said that they could only send it the saver shipping since that is what I originally paid for.
At this point, I decided to give up because this was going nowhere. I just told the Buy.com rep that I would like my money back. I also told the Buy.com rep to be sure to take my email off the Buy.com mailing list. I didn't want to do business with Buy.com any longer if this is how they treat their customers. So, the rep submitted a claim for me to credit my charge card. Again, he said something about this would take a few days to appear on my charge card.
The funniest part of this whole ordeal.........
A day or two later, the package containing the Zune arrived. Apparently, it had been shipped 2 day priority.
P.S. The Buy.com rep that I spoke with the last time had a very heavy middle eastern accent. That just added to my frustration because I kept having to tell him that I didn't understand half of what he said and made him repeat things over again. "
"I ordered and received an MP3 player - except when I opened the box the MP3 player had been removed from it's nesting place. I was in shock. It took an hour to get through to someone but once I did they took all the info and said I would be notified of my claim resolution. The next day my claim was approved and the day after that a replacement was shipped. This one came via a different carrier and was complete. "
