"These people are complete losers, they are actually not allowing a return of an unopened box(wrong model) the day after Christmas, they say it is after their 14 day return period from date of shipment, never buy from here if you are giving a gift, like most of the other ratings say, buy at your own risk, there is no customer service and likely little customer satisfaction.
Further information, I did finally get an RMA, sent the product back, got a delivery confirmation from my shipper, buy.com acknowledged receipt by email, but never issued the refund, it is impossible to contact anyone by phone or email directly, these people are not a real business, it is fake, they are crooks, put pressure on Google, do not buy!!!!!!"
"I purchased three Connect-3D items in January & February 2007 that were supposed to be free after the $50, $50 and $30 rebates. The rebate company went out of business, so I was out the $130. Buy.com gave me a gift certificate for $65 (half the amount) this month, which was a nice good-faith effort."
"Buyer beware, especially when they don't even have a PICTURE of the item you're purchasing. I can't believe Google.com checkout would affiliate themselves with this disreputable site. I ordered the item on Dec. 18th. It was listed as in stock and usually ships 1-2 business days. When it didn't ship out on the second business day I sent them an email but received no reply. I sent emails to no avail until they finally responded with a phone number. Called their customer service, and they said that my order was escalated but that I couldn't personally talk to that department. (Maybe because it doesn't really exist??) My item still hasn't even shipped 6 days after I ordered it, and they will not refund what I paid extra for faster shipping, either. I am now in the process of cancelling the order and disputing the charge with my excellent credit card company. They charged my credit card the SAME DAY I ordered. I expected better service than this, especially when I paid extra for it. I wish I would've checked ratings BEFORE purchasing. At least I have the pivilege of steering my friends and any future purchases away from Buy.com, one of the shoddiest companies I've ever delt with."

There is no warehouse for buy.com. They are a virtual reseller. Once they get your order they find the cheapest source- they don't care if a sellers products' are fake refurbished or broken. It's not their problem. If they can't find a source they will sit on your money and issue a fake fed ex or USPS tracking number. Buy.com keeps your money until you do a reverse credit card charge. Unbelievable as it may seem, some individuals never complain and Buy.com keeps their money. It is a dishonest company and doesn't care about you. Their call center is in India and they are paid to lie. Also, they have a scam on rebates: they never issue them. They don't exist. Why waste hours of your time or days as in my case with this disreputable scam outfit. STAY AWAY: YOU WILL BE SCREWED.

"I ordered a refurbished Zune from buy.com on November 24. According to their tracking information, my package ended up in a "sortation center" where it has remained for several weeks. I called customer service after nearly two weeks and they confirmed the item appeared to be lost and would "file a claim". After another five days I sent an e-mail and was advised to cancel the order and re-order. The item was not available for re-order at the original price I paid. I canceled my original order and requested a refund. I've been waiting for my refund now for a week. After nearly four weeks I have neither the item I ordered, nor a refund. I've been ordering items online since 1997 and this is the worst experience I've ever had. Their response to this order is awful. Buyer beware."
"Buy.com has great deals but the customer service is severely lacking. I bought an mp3 player for someone for xmas on 12/4. In the past things shipped out the next day but this didn't ship out until 12/10, which is within their guidelines. However it is 12/21 and i have not received my shipment within the 3-5 days they said it would arrive. I then called USPS to see where my shipment was and they could not exactly say but did tell me that the way it was shipped would take 2-9 days which has the possibility to take 4 days more than what buy.com said. I then emailed customer service twice with no reply. In the past i would get a confirmation email saying they received it and then a reply in a couple of days, I got no email confirmation these past 2 times and no replies. I thought i had bought it with plenty of time to send out for xmas (3 weeks) but obviously not. They have lost me as a customer."
"I ordered an EVGA 8800gt graphics card on Monday from Buy.com, as the shipping deadlines buy.com put on their website said if you ordered by Monday you would get it before Christmas. The product from Monday all the way untill today, Thursday said it was in stock. I recently recieved an email from Buy.com telling me they don't even have the product in their warehouse! Why have the item listed as in stock all week before Christmas if it's not in stock! "I purchased a refurbished ipod from buy.com on December 4th, 2007. When I received it, I discovered that it was broken. I requested assistance from buy.com and was told I had to return it to the manufacturer. Apple informed me that it was an HP iPod, HP has refused to offer any kind of assistance or service.
I have sent multiple emails to buy.com asking for assistance in sorting out the problem and getting the broken ipod replaced with a working one, but all I get is the same canned email telling me to contact the manufacturer.
I will never purchase anyhting from them again."

I ordered a Roomba from buy.com as a Christmas gift and paid for expedited shipping because the the free, and standard shipping said it wasn't recommended for Christmas delivery.
I received an email stating that my billing address did not match that provided by my Credit Card company so I logged in to make the correction. To my surprise, the item was listed as "Sent to Warehouse" and there was nowhere for me to correct my address. I contacted support via their web form asking if I needed to do anything to get the item shipped. Their response was:
"Item #206534653 .has been delayed in the fulfillment process. We do not yet have an estimated shipping date. However, you will receive a shipping confirmation email as soon as your order ships."
I canceled my order immediately after receiving this email and ordered the item from somewhere else. Today I get an email saying the item has already entered the shipping process and they are unable to cancel it. Now I'm stuck eating both the expedited shipping charges as well as the return shipping costs (not cheap for a 15lb package). Terrible communication. "

"Avoid anything that could involve their customer service and do not buy their warranties, unless you want to hang onto the phone for several minutes and get the most inefficient service!
In my case they did not answer my customer service emails. When they did it was full of nonsense. I then had to email them for a phone number. I called and someone in the Philippines answered. My problem was that I bought a warranty through a link on their site for a buy.com product. I canceled the product order and then tried canceling the warranty. I never could. My bank statement identified the merchant as Buy.com but the transaction did not appear on my buy.com account as the company handling the warranty is Warrantech, a buy.com subsidiary. Warrntech claims buy.com should refund the money and buy.com claims Warrantech should. After the run around, I just gave up!
I have ordered products after this distressing experience in situations where the risk of a bad customer service will not be a huge risk.
