"I ordered 2) 1GB memory sticks for my Lenovo X61T Laptop PC. Only 1 piece was in the shipment, I had sent 5 e-mails to BUY.COM before I finally received a reply that was not computer generated. They want me to purchase another memory card and change my claim from "replace" to "reimburse". They should sell used cars at BUY.COM because that is the type of strategy they seem to use.
This is not the first time this has happened, about six weeks prior, I ordered 2) Kingston 2 GB thumb drives and only 1 shipped. They sent the second one after 3 e-mails (2 weeks later).
I will feel very lucky if this most recent error is resolved, if it is not, I will miss purchasing from BUY.COM because the prices are hard to beat on most of the sale items. I refuse to do business with a dishonest company.
There are a few "very satisfied" ratings here and I would have been one of them (had I known about this website) for over a year. I had between 6 and 8 transactions with Buy.com before and all of them were quite satisfactory. Until the last two. They corrected one prior error but the last one is still being disputed through paypal.

"You can add me to the long list of customers that have been shafted by this company. They charged my credit card and sent me a message that my order had been sent by FedEx and even gave me a tracking number. However, after a week I called FedEx who never received a package from them. "

"Orderd on Dec 7th paid for 3-5 day shipping. As of 12/15 item not due to arrive until 12/21. Attempted to call buy.com and waited over 70 minutes on hold and finally hung up. Emailed to get to refund of shipping and the price of the item is also $10 lower now. So I had to email to get my $16.87 back. I dont plan to deal with a company that cant answer an email or phone call within 70 minutes. I buy a lot from Amazon and have excelent experiance with them. Done with buy.com

Update as of 12/18/07 The tracking information that buy.fu.com provides is a lie. It showed the item as if it was being sent FedEx but FedEx has no record when I called as of today, it shows the item as being delivered by USPS (post office) and the shipping number now crosses over to USPS but with no info available only that it was entered. I was able to get through to CSR within 2 minutes (gasp) she checked the shipping info and could not provide any answer as to why it is being shipped by USPS but now it shows a in home date for tomorrow???? Huh...ok...she said she would refund my shipping cost. I Then asked about the fact the price was $10 lower since last week and for a refund. I was told I was not able to get the lower price since the item has shipped...WTF?? I said your own policy states that "You are eligible for a refund if your request meets the following conditions:

So I am printing out the gurantee page..and disputing the charge on my CC and making a complaint with the WA State Attoney Generals Office. Buy.fu.com can kiss my butt...

Please no one buy from them...they lie cheat and steal.

"Just remember: no deal is a good one if you don't get the product you bought. In the future I'll spend the few extra bucks and go with a reputable supplier.

I ordered my 4GB card from buy.com on December 2.

Tracking shows that, because I got free shipping, it was sent by US Post via UPS. They have some kind of arrangement.

The post office here in Chicago got it on December 3rd and I was like, wow!

Then it never arrived.

Buy.com told me by phone today that I can't file a claim until tomorrow since shipping this way is 7-9 days.

Pretty obvious that a package that landed at a Chicago post office that doesn't get to a Chicago address in 10 calendar days ain't coming.

Buy.com is saying that I can file a claim with them tomorrow and then they will file a claim with the post office and I'll have to wait 5 days to hear something.

"Ordered an mp3 player and instead of free shipping I paid $20 extra for 2 day delivery. A day later I was notified that they don't have any. This is unacceptable! Can't they count how many they have and ONLY SELL MERCHANDISE THAT EXISTS???? I'm very disappointed and will likely never buy from them again.

"They have the worst customer service and make it virtually impossible to find their phone number. Thankfully, other people on the internet have sussed it out! Poor response and can't really answer your questions beyond saying, "It'll take 3-5 business days" - for anything. They're terrible."

"Ya, I ordered many times from them. Thought they were good until I had a problem. I order two items that said free shipping. On the final invoice I immediately noticed I was charged shipping! I forgot about their unscrupulous policy which they automatically choose the paid delivery option for you.

I immediately tried to call. (no phone number anywhere) I left an email. 2 hours later, no response. so, I tried to cancel the order. I also left my cell number for them to call me.

The next day I get an email saying "sorry, your order has already been shipped". (if I'm lucky to catch) the UPS guy I can deny shipment or else I will have to get an RMA and ship the product back AT MY COST. No phone call.

When I looked up status, it says 2 of 4 of my items shipped. The other is still in Cancel Pending state. So, I leave another email. Do you think you can call me back, perhaps ship out the other two items at the free shipping rate??? This would reduce the cost of shipping in half.

Yes, I should have been quick enough to catch their shipping scam. But, the fact that there is NO quality customer service is ridiculous.

I also read how many times people did not receive their items and get told TOUGH LUCK!

I bet you they still charge the customer for insurance and pocket that money for themselves!

Update 12/22

The other two items where arrived today! This after calling, emailing, over and over. A couple emails they did respond to never actually addressed the questions I had, just, "stated I can reject the package of delivery or obtain an RMA then ship it back at MY COST". The problem was, according to item status, it HAD NOT SHIPPED YET!

In summary: Buy.com has some really good deals and they try to deliver. Make sure you check that the FREE SHIPPING is selected if that is what you want. And, make sure you say your prayers that nothing is wrong with the order because I highly doubt you will get a hold of anyone in customer service to resolve the problem.

Good place to order if you like to gamble.

"I've ordered a lot of things from Buy.com over the past couple of years and from what I've read here, I guess I have to consider myself one of the lucky ones. So far, I've never had a problem with them. This is actually the first time I'm rating them (didn't know about this site before last month) but thought that I should. I placed my order YESTERDAY. I used Google checkout and got $10 off my order for an Ergotron Neo-Flex HD Wall Mount Pivot - Silver. I was SHOCKED to receive it today. I don't think I've gotten anything from them this fast before. In all the times I have purchased from them I've only had to call Customer Service once and as I remember, they answered my questions satisfactorily. This experience was definitely my best from them, though."

We do understand you have reported non-receipt of your order and apologize for the inconvenience. However, although we always try to do everything in our power to resolve every customer issue, unfortunately at this point we are unable to assist you further in this matter.

Per company policy: "Title to goods passes to you upon delivery to the common carrier." (http://www.buy.com/corp/legal.asp). Basically this says that once a product is in transit via the shipping carrier, the ownership and responsibility of the product has passed from Buy.com to the customer. It is the customer's responsibility from this point forward to make sure someone is at the delivery address provided to accept the package. If no one is available at this address at the time of delivery, the carrier is authorized to leave the package at the door and the order is considered completed at that time. Basically, the security of the delivery location provided by the customer falls under the responsibility of the customer.

"Ordered a laptop bag on sale. After the order was processed, I got no further communication from buy.com about the order's status.

After a week has passed and I haven't received either an e-mail or my package, I went to check on my account and noticed that after 7 days it was still shown as "Sent to Warehouse". Today, that notification changed to "On Order", once again without any communication from Buy.com or an estimated restock of the item ordered.

They didn't have any problems charging my credit card, but they certainly have problems actually getting the item ordered out the door or even communicating about the reasons for delays.

I had similar problems with buy.com a few years ago where an item listed in stock ended up not in stock after I was already charged for it and I had to go through the hassle of canceling (not a fun process with this company) and this reaffirms why I should I never buy from them again.
