"I placed an order on DealExtreme on 4/1/2014 and have not received my item by 4/21/2014. I noticed that they have lowered the price of the item by $12 since I placed my order. Since I have not received my item, I believe that I should receive a credit of the difference (I base this belief on the practices of companies like Amazon, who will credit your account if you have a similar situation). I opened a live chat with a DX customer service rep and received some rather poor service from him. He told me that this would not happen, but then asked me if I would be willing to send them a check for items on a prior order that had gone up in price. I thought this was ludicrous as that order had already been received (I also thought it a bit rude). My whole point is that I believe price protection on an undelivered order is not too much to ask. As it is, I will not buy anything from them in the future and will work to convince others to do the same...my orders alone would have been for more than $12.
**** REVISED: I received a response from DX and they obviously missed the point of my rating....I was not complaining about the shipping time, but rather the fact that they dropped the price before I even received the item. In my opinion, this appears typical for their responses...they respond to something other than the issue raised by the rater as a way to deflect criticism. I am still not happy and will still refrain from buying anything else from them. I encourage everyone to fully consider NOT making a purchase from DealExtreme. ****"

I have been ordering many years now and many things, had a little break at some point when they had troubles after a certain Chinese Newyear and renewing their website but they came back much better.
I've been ordering this flashgun for instance that is $184,-- USD which I would normally never just order anywhere. I trusted DX with it as for the years some stuff came over broken and they always replaced it.
For me they are more reliable then some of the stores in the neighborhood if it comes to service!!! I'm in The Netherlands and DX is on the other side of the world!"

"I was able to place orders in the past. Sure, the lead time is rather long, but that is a given.
Lately, dx.com could not complete any orders. Items marked as "in stock" became unavailable a few weeks after I placed my order. Even the US-based branch can not deliver: my order was not shipped, and no info was given to my account. I had to call in for service to find out my item was out of stock, a week after I placed my order. That item is still marked as "in stock" on dx catalog, by the way.
Bottom line, there are alternatives to dx.com, and I will use those from now on."
