"I placed an order with Dell for a Vizio 47-inch E470VA 1080p LCD HDTV on 11/29/2010 during their advertised Cyber Monday special. I had debated between buying this special or one on Amazon but went with Dell. That was a major mistake on my part as I have never had a problem with Amazon and shop with them all the time.

I received my order acknowledgment from Dell (Dell Purchase ID: 2002922681782)on 11/30/2010. After a few days I started to become concerned when my order status was not updated and contacted Dell support.

When I called, the support rep said I would have to call the next day because their system tools were down. On 12/6/2010 I finally received a cancellation notice with the following text:

"This is to inform you that a technical error occurred during processing that resulted in our inability to gather the information necessary to fulfill your recent order. As a result, we have cancelled the order. You have not been charged for this order."

"The fastest way to reinstate your order is for you to visit www.dell.com and place a new order."

Of course by this time I had missed out on an opportunity to get a good deal and they have raised the price on this TV back to their regular price. I have purchased hundreds of items online over the years and have never had an order confirmed and then "lost". This is supposed to be a huge technical company.

I have since been in contact with their order support team and they will not honor the original purchase price from Cyber Monday.

I highly recommend you stay away from them as their customer support is the worst I have ever seen especially with a company as big as theirs.

"I placed an order for the Studio14 for $599. The product did not ship for 3 weeks. Suddenly I got a notification saying the order has been cancelled. I called DELL support, and was told a component was missing. Interestingly the same laptop was now available for $899. I got myself to a guy called Vini who claimed he was the manager. He said he could give me a discount on the $899 price. I was astonished that they first cancelled the order for no reason and now were offering me a higher price as a "special discount' for me. When I said I wanted the original price, the manager complained to me that I was 'looking at things from my perspective'. He was apparently not liking my desire to get the product for the price I had ordered. I hung up, and now its been a week and my credit card has not been redunded.

Do business with DELL at your own risk. You will be dealing with weird sales people in some outsourced location who are not happy you are bothering them with order issues.

"Dell provided the worst possible customer service ever. They love to keep you on the phone or on chat. Each Dell Rep I spoke to will only give me vague answers. No aplogies for delayed delivery but they claimed they "understood". I bought a TV to be delivered by December 2nd but it was shipped on December 5th. When I call any dell rep, they don't know what the status is.

If you want peace of mind, skip purchasing from Dell Period. By the way, this is the first poor review I have given any person or company I purchased any Item from.

"Absolutely apalling. they wouldn't quote a delivery date without placing an order. they then gave a delivery date pre Christmas but placed the order and confirmed a delivery date in the new year. I cancelled the order before production began but they ignored my mail for a day then said it couldn't be cancelled because it was in production. I 've used them before but this is as bad as telephone sales gets!!!!!!!!!!!"

"Michael Dell Michael Dell....you used to be a good company and now look at how well you're rated after you've raked in a lot of cash. The more popular your brand is, the more "careless" you are to customer's satisfaction? I purchased a laptop and paid $$$$$ for overnight shipping. What you considered overnight is....to contact the customer the NEXT WEEK and say it's going to be delayed for another week. Then later on sent another email saying it's going to take another month? WTF is wrong with your "In stock" and "Next Day Shipping" label? Take the #$%^@! thing offfff your site and put it as "Built & Delivered in 1 year!!!" instead !!!!"

"It's unfortunate that what use to be a very good company to deal with has gone down hill so much. Over the years I've order thousands of computers but I can no longer deal with Dell. They don't ship anywhere on time. They now have a practice of slipping in charges on things that they must know will never be used like "wireless setup for 30 days" for 29.00. This is just an add on charge they while perhaps less than 1% might want it is automatically included in the price of the laptop I just purchased. They also add in a $54.00 "mail-in" service after remote service. What most don't know is that they will run you around the block a few hundred times "remotely" before they will ever even consider letting you mail it in.
I'm more disappointed that what was a once great company to deal with has become impossible to deal with now. Any simple call will get you transferred several times until they wear you down (I'm sure it designed that way).
Really what a shame?

"Dell CS is the absolute worst ever!!! I ordered a laptop bag on 9/28 and kept giving permission for an order delay and finally gave them continued permission for an order delay. It was a great deal.

I e-mailed CS on 11/4 inquiring about the continued delay. The next day I get a form letter e-mail stating my order had been canceled because I did not give permission for the delay with 24 hours! I never received a response to any e-mails from Dell, much less another automated e-mail advising of another delay.

If you are looking for an automated run around, then Dell is just the place an extreme ride!

"The Dell Inspiron 580 with Intell 5i processor has been great. I had a problem with Windows 7 for older games but Dell support sovled the probem
and I was satisfied. I called again on best way for connecting my gaming system and this time service was terrible! the person was hard to understand and after being on hold they could not tell me! after some reading it was very simple.
I could not believe ther tech support could not answere such a simple question. I was told to call the game manufacture. They just happen to sell this product but it seems with little or no knowlege of the product. Mybe theyshould train ther people a little better on product knowlege.

"Dell bill me for thing I did not received and promised refund within a week , it been almost a month H(D)ELLl has yet refunded me.

What they are doing is a fraud.

I would never do business with D(H)ELL. over promised and fail to keep deliver. Gone are the days where you trust a person word.

(H)DELL of shore cheap labor with no honors of gentlemen agreement, or proper customer service.

"I bought a high-end desktop from Dell on October 3. Everything went without a hitch. I have had mixed success with Dell in the past, but their prices for what you get are much better than most competitors. I was very happy with this purchase. Word of note: If you do the live chat with one of their customer service representatives when purchasing a computer, you can usually swing some additional savings on the cost of the computer. I saved an additional 10% on my computer by just asking the customer service rep (including free shipping!). "

"I bought a E5500 laptop from Dell and I'm really pleased with my purchase.

Their product configurator on the website is really good because you can customize your laptop so that it has the spec you want.

The only drawback is that delivery can be slow (2 weeks or so) if you make any customizations.

"Over the years, I have bought five Dell systems but my next will no longer be Dell. Both their service and hardware has significantly deteriorated: when requesting assistance with a laptop that stopped working, Dell staff could not find a solution even after a reset of the computer, told me that some senior technician would contact me, which he never did, but charged their normal service fees. The non-Dell computer repair person I consulted thereafter reinstalled the laptop within twenty minutes for less than the fee charged by Dell. With the last system I purchased, the Dell SX2210 monitor is not height adjustable and their wireless keyboard has no light to indicate that CAPS lock (or anything else, for that matter) is on, which is not only a nuisance when typing passwords. But the most unpleasant surprise was to learn that it is company policy that individual items cannot be returned, but only the whole order. "
