"Caught by false advertising. I ordered something based on the picture and description. After I ordered, I looked closer only to see I was getting an accessory of the original item, not the original item. I quickly called (within 15 minutes of order... no responses as they said they were moving offices.) I then e-mailed, asking them to cancel my order, only receiving automated responses that someone would get back to me. Received the package today, now I am going to AMEX to dispute it. Not recommended."

"Ordered a set of speakers, HD, IDE and sound card on 7/29 and the credit card was charged on 7/30. Then got an e-mail on 8/4 from them saying that they were unable to ship my order in a timely manner and they cancelled the order. They did credit the charge back to the card, but it shouldn't have even been charged until the order was ready to ship. Trying to get someone on the phone seems to be an impossibility. About the only thing they've got going for them is the low prices and free shipping, which if they would follow through on would make them an excellent retailer.

Follow up: After reading other responses, I get the impression that the "timely shipping" was an excuse they used to avoid paying shipping costs on the heavy/bulky items like cases and speakers. When I checked the site a couple of days after the cancellation e-mail, I also noticed that the price of the speakers I ordered had gone up but free shipping was still in effect. Today (8/12/02) the speaker price has gone back down, but free shipping is no longer available. Talk about deceptive advertising practices.

"I recently purchased an Sony LCD Monitor from ems. After days without shipping, I emailed them a complaint. They said they would ship ASAP, and they "guaranteed" my satisfaction.

Three days later they emailed me saying that they cancelled my order (even though their website still claimed to have them in stock). I checked the price of the LCD on ems that day, and they had raised it by $200! This is rediculous.

I checked the home page under specials, and they had that same LCD for the price I had bought it, but when I added it to the cart, it was added at the $200 higher price! Unbelievable! They still have not refunded my account (beyond their promise of 3-5 days)

Do not buy from this company. Please.

"Same story here as with the rest. Ordered an Antec case and a few other items with the order being subsequently cancelled.

I am pleased to say that a credit was finally issued today to my charge card. To those that may be concerned, these folks seem to have bitten off more than they could chew but at least they aren't thieves.

"i ordered an antec case from these guys. luckily (from what i've read elsewhere on here) i actually GOT my case. however, it's got a manufacturing defect. EMS issued a call tag to have it shipped back to them, but UPS hasn't picked up my defective case. i'm thinking now i'll go to antec and utilize their warranty for the manufacturing defect. i'm through with dealing with EMS. NO EMAILS RESPONDED TO. no way to contact them through their phone numbers now. it's just a bunch of recordings. then it hangs up on you. don't order from these people. the $10 savings isn't worth it."

"This company does not know how to do business professionally. Purchase item on 7/29/02, get cancellation on 8/04/02 yet the item i ordered according to their site "is available to ship in 1 to 2 business days". The kicker? The price of the item i ordered (Antec SX630ii) was jacked up!

Would i do business with them again? NO!

"I'm in the same boat as everyone else!
Placed 2 orders during their 'Free Shipping' promotion. Both were charged to my card the day after placing the order. Received an email confirmation for the order, for 'in-stock' items - but they have not been shipped. Not able to talk to anyone on the phone, nor get an email response.

I contacted the FL BBB and filed a complaint. The next thing to do is Fax ***-***-****) EMS since they won't answer their phone or emails. Looks like these guys will either be out of business or in jail soon.

"DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!!!! POOR BUSINESS PRACTICES AND FRAUDULANT ACTIVITY!!!

Ordered on 7/30/02, charged on 8/2/02. Order cancelled by them, no email, no contact, no nothing. Put me a week behind (plus more as I have to order elsewhere and await shipment) Offered free delivery, but did not delivered. Policy states they will not charge until they ship, however, they charged multiple customers and then never shipped.

"DO NOT ORDER FROM THIS COMPANY!!! THEY ARE FRAUDS!!!

After placing my online order, they immediatly charged my credit card for the $63 that was on the invoice. I waited a week for a notice that the product had been shipped, but I never got one. After sending them an e-mail to ask about the status of the order, they e-mailed back and told me that they had canceled the order because they couldn't ship it out in a timely fassion. It has been another 4 days and I haven't seen a credit on my charge card. I'm still trying to get my money back and I'm not sure if I ever will. Do not do businees with these people!!!

"This company confirmed my order and debited my account and then the next day emailed me and said that since they could not ship the printer in a timely manner the sales would be voided and my money refunded. I rechecked their website and the printers are higher priced now and they have 800 in stock ready to be shipped."

"Has anyone received their credit from EMS???

I'm in the same boat as everyone else.

Bought an Antec case during their free shipping promotion and then got an email a few days later saying they wouldn't be able to fulfill my order and that my credit card would be credited.

So far I have not received a credit.
