"My story is a little different. I ordered a Viewsonic G90F-2 on July 26th, before the free shipping offer, so I paid for shipping. My credit card was ofcourse charged right away. I did not get any e-mail confirmation or cancellation notices, just silence and no monitor. As the rest, I can not contact the company. The credit card will take 4 to 8 weeks to process the refund request."
"Attempted to place an order for a Black Samsung 19" Monitor model # 955DF for $202.00 on 07/28/2002 taking advantage of their free shipping promotion. At time of order, their online stock checking system was showing 3 in stock. A few days after placing the order, I check the stock again, showing there was about 47 in stock. I sent an EMail that went unresponded to asking if I was going to get one of the original three. I sent another EMail asking for a status check, which also went unresponded to.
A few days pass and I received an EMail explaining they couldn't ship the product to me due to lack of shipping within a reasonable time and that a refund of the $202 would be given. I respond explaining that I don't want the order canceled, and their Terms and Conditions don't give them any right to cancel the order for any reason (they don't give themselves this kind of "out" in their Terms and Conditions). Days later, frustrated, I attempted to call and received a phone recording saying they were relocating to a new facility and would be back open on Thursday (08/08/2002).
Calling on that Thursday, I learn that their phone systems do not offer an option to speak to a live person -- they only give reference to their website and EMail systems (that have thus far all gone unresponded to). I file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau out of Florida who tells me they are getting similar complaints about this company, and I contact an attorney. My attorney says I have the right to sue for damages if I order the same monitor -- but only if I pay more. Damages could include the difference in their price vs. the price I had to pay with the other company, lost wages, and legal fees. After reading all of these poor reviews, I decide not to file a case for now -- who's to say they would actually listen for one -- and for two who's to say they would be a reliable source to receive money from that was rewarded in court. They probably wouldn't even show up anyway."
"UPDATE, 9-28-02. Before leaving for a 3 week vacation (about 5 weeks after order was placed) I filed complaints on EMS Computing with the Gainesville Chamber of Commerce, Gainesville BBB, and through Pricewatch.
Upon returning the other day, we finally have a resolution of the matter with EMS after TWO months. Frank (who placed the order) finally received credit back to his account for the $104 they had charged him with no product ever shipped, and after all those complaints a Herb Jones from EMS contacted him, explaining they were moving to new location and computers were messed up for a time, and has said he would honor the no shipping deal on any other item Frank would like to order from the company.
Basically, this is all one can expect as a resolution of the problem, but I believe that does not alter the incident in terms of leaving a bad rating for the company. We were charged for the item within two days of placing the order, and it took just shy of two months to get the money credited back.
Least things are finished tho.
----------------------------------
Same as rest of you for last few weeks - ordered an Antec case with free shipping on 7/28, credit card charged (actually a friend's order through my computer), no emails or anything, then got email on 8/4 with the cannot ship in timely manner, order cancelled, will refund credit card within 3-5 business days.
Sent them an email stating that we wanted to know what was going on, and wanted our order rather than a refund, on 8/15-ish.
Got back duplicate email that our order was cancelled and credit would be refunded within 3-5 days (it was already 10 days later!)
Still no credit and no order, folks (8/20/02), no responses of any kind from EMS except form letter email about order cancellation....
Stinks. Going to credit card company to see what they will do for us......
Stinks, did I mention that?
P.S. At time of ordering, EMS had higher (but not great) rating here at Resellerratings.com, unfortunately, or we would not have done business with them.

"I looked into ordering an Hitachi monitor from CNET.COM EMS Computing was rated as a 3 star retailer with the lowest price. Upon placing the order, the charge was imediately on my credit card. It was 2 weeks before I was able to get a reply. The phone system went completely automated guiding you to use the email. Wrote several emails and a week later getting an automated email back saying they couldn't deliver and would credit the account. I'm still waiting for the credit. I'm waiting the 30 days before contacting my credit to go after these guys. Nice web-site, offers the world, but doesn't deliver!"
"This company is absolutely WORTHLESS! I ordered a Samsung 955DF monitor from these crooks, and recieved an invoice for it saying I would be emailed a tracking number. 2 weeks later, nothing. Don't reply to email. Don't reply to phone calls. DON'T order from this legalized criminal institution"
"Yes, this company is a FRAUD!!
I ordered a Logitech optical keyboard and mouse from them on July 26, 2002 and still haven't heard anything from them yet. It's now August 17, 2002. I heard nothing from them so far. None. Nada. Nothing whatsoever. No emails. No confirmation messages, nothing. No one is there. I recently requested a cancellation on it telling them that they did not ship it in a timely manner. Still no confirmation. They even charged my credit card already!! I called my credit card to investigate on this and hopefully I can get my money back. That's all I want. Please, please, do NOT order anything from this company. Take my word for it. Don't go through what I have gone through. It's very frustrating."
"Same story as the rest...
Paid $236.06 for the ViewSonic p75f+ monitor there...1.5 weeks later, I get an e-mail that the order was cancelled and will be refunded within 3-5 days.
TWO WEEKS LATER! I HAVE STILL NOT BEEN REFUNDED. I WOULD LOVE TO CLAIM FRAUD!
"FRAUD!"
DO NOT order from this company. SImply they are liars, fraudulent, fake, and full of complete bull****.
A few days prior to my order, I sent an e-mail to them and got a response within 4 minutes. This made me trust them.
After the problems with my order, I have e-mailed them at least 8 times...no reply! The telephone service is disappoint..it simply instructs you on how to use the website and use the contact information to get..um...nothing.
PURE CRAP!
At least I have the e-mail staing they would refund saved...so I can fight with the credit company back. If anyone here lives near this place (Gainsville, FL)..please go blow it up.
I would. Thank you."
"Same story as many others. I feel fortunate to have gotten my CC credit from them within the 3-5 days."
"I purchased almost $700.00 worth of supplies with this company. They sent me an e-mail canceling my order on August 4th. The e-mail promised that I would be refunded in 4 days. That has not happened. I call, no answer, I e-mail no response. I have been on serveral complaint websites, and have found that they have done this to many people. I have disputed the charge with my credit card, but it has been very difficult. I am a small business and I have to have open capital to work with, I not only had to resubmit my order with another company, but my money is still tied up with EMS Computing. I have a wedding to shoot with my photography business, and I need to order a camera but can not. Since, I am not the only one I think this company has done this on purpose. DO NOT ORDER FROM EMS COMPUTING."
"I ordered Logitech Z560 speakers at the listed price of $122 with FREE shipping. My credit card was charged the same day, but no shipping confirmation was sent. Over the next 12 days, I sent 10 e-mails, 3 voice mails, a fax, and 3 attempts at their "live chat" option all with no response. I was another of their "bait and cancel" victims. I have made several online purchases over the past few years, and this is without a doubt the worst company I have ever dealt with. I have learned that the lowest price is not the same as the best deal... "
"I was involved in the shipping bait and switch scam. Ordered a UPS for 99, got the 'timely fashion order cancel' email. The day I received the email the price of the UPS jumped to 124.99 (to cover the "free" shipping perhaps?).
So instead I will go down to best buy and pay $150 over dealing with this company."
"I ordered a NEC monitor from this company. The monitor was on backorder for 2 months. However, they charged my credit card when I ordered it. After contacting them several times to have the charge removed, it still has not been removed. I have since canceled the order and the have taken up the matter with my credit card company. Also, there is not longer an option to talk to an actual person when calling their toll free number."
"No clue what happened to these guys, they just dropped off the face of the earth. Email goes unanswered, phone is useless (and they removed references to their 1-800 number even though it still works for the time being, see a post further down). The fact that they seem to have refunded everyone tells me they didn't plan all of this, but the absolute lack of comment is frustrating to say the least. If they keep this up much longer I doubt they'll be in business anymore..."
"Like what everyone else said. Ordered my Sony monitor. I got a confirmation email, but nothing afterwards. Called my credit card company and found out they charged me on the day I bought it, and then refunded me 6 days later. So I ended up paying a bit more at Bestbuy. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy.."
"Order placed, never shipped, no tracking number, no response to e-mails, not able to contact human at contact numbers, recordings only."
