"Folks, the best way to get at these people is to go to the Better Business Bureau web site at www.bbb.org. If the BBB gets several complaints they will take some action. Give it a try. I have with other scumbag online retailers and did get some results."

"Same problem as everyone else, I ordered this monitor and they canceled my order and raised the price by about $100. I hope I get my money back. I am going to file a complaint with the BBB too and I would recomend that everyone else does too."

"I had placed an order for an Antec case & side panel (they were in stock at the time of order). Their policy said they ship in a couple of days unless the item was out of stock. After not receiving any shipment details after the required period of time, I tried to contact them via email on several occassions to obtain a shipment status, and only received their "auto-reply" message saying they received my email and that a rep would get back to me (never happened). When I tried their phone, is was either busy, or I was directed to contact them via email. A week after I placed the order, I got an email from them stating they could not ship the order in a timely manner and that it was cancelled. The prices were good, but everything else was bad."

"-= EMS Computing utilized the most poor business practices by ignoring customers' emails and leaving their company completely inaccessible by phone.

-=All customers placing orders around this time period were left to wonder what would come of their orders after they were charged and had no way of communicating with EMS Computing about the status of their order.

-=They breached their own agreement for orders by charging our credit cards before the item even shipped.

-=I will avoid them for the rest of my days and hope everyone else does the same.

"I got the same song and dance as everyone else...... This is what I sent them...

EMS computing,

I have placed orders with you in good faith that they will be filled. I have not received any confirmation email with tracking numbers yet. The two order numbers are shown below. I received an email on 8/4/02 stating that "the orders could not be filled in a timely fashion, and therefore were cancelled.......and in the unlikely event that your credit card was charged.....a refund will be issued" This is not real good business practices. I did not authorize these orders to be cancelled, and since you have already charged my credit card, expect them to be shipped as soon as possible. I also noticed that on your website you have raised prices (about $100 for the monitor I was trying to purchase). I also see that you are registered at the NE Florida branch of the Better Business Bureau. I am carbon copying the BB Bureau (Jacksonville Branch) so they are also going to be aware of this as well.

I am also providing a link to the resellerratings.com web sight dedicated for consumers to rate online merchants. I checked yours out prior to me placing an order and the rating was above 7.5, so I felt alright about ordering from you. As you can see, since alot of other unsuspecting customers have had their orders cancelled without their consent within the past couple of weeks, your overall rating has dropped to a 3.6 (as of 2PM on 8/5/02).

"Ordered a case on 7/29. When it hadn't arrived on 8/2, I went to the EMS order status page and found that it had not shipped. I tried to cancel, but emails were answered by autoresponder. On 8/4, I got an email form them saying thay were cancelling the order because they would be unable to ship in a timely manner, but it would take another 3-5 days to credit my account. So they get to use my money for as long as 11 days (or more, I haven't got any refund yet)? Is this legal? "

"Caught up in the same scenario as the masses who have voiced their disgust with this company's recent fiasco. Most of us received the email on 8/4 (working on Sunday?) of the cancellation (which they CAN do, sucks though).
So by my calculation, tons of moola should be rolling back into respective credit and bank accounts by Wednesday thru Friday of this week (3-5 business days as stated in the email). Yeah, makes me feel real confident. NOT!
And will the guy who posted in the same town as EMS and even drove over to see them moving....could you keep tabs on the scene and let us know if they change their name in addition to their location for future reference?

Update: Refund of full amount credited as of today. Charged on 7/31, so 8 days from order placed, 4 days after cancellation email.

"I ordered a monitor on 7/27/02 when they have it on sale and free ground shipping. I got my order confirm. Their check stock shows they have over 1000 in stock. On 8/2, I receive their email apologizes the delays and assures that the matter will be handled to my satisfaction. By now, they increase their price on the monitor by $100 plus $40.99 ground shipping charge. On 8/4, instead of honor my order they cancel it and promise a refund within 3-5 business days. Be aware of this company."
