"Update 8/14 - believe it or not, the clowns actually issued a credit for the proper amount! I must say I'm surprised. But doesn't change the fact that they're crooks.

Update 8/5/2002 - these sleazebuckets charged my credit card account, then a week later I get a mail message saying they're cancelling my order because they can't ship in a timely fashion. Wanna bet the promised credit to my account never materializes?

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THESE CRETINS.

I placed an order last night through the EMS website and have received no e-mail confirmation of my order. When I tried to call their customer service phone number, I got a recording saying they're moving to a new office and therefore won't answer phones "during the following week" (no actual date given). I e-mailed their customer service and sales addresses and got autoreplies saying:

"Due to an overwhelming response to our free shipping promotion, we are experiencing a delay in our email replies. We have received your email, and are working around the clock to ensure all inquiries are answered as soon as possible in the order in which they were received. We appreciate your patience. Thank you for choosing EMS Computing, and have a great day."

Sure wish I'd known about resellerratings.com before ordering... after getting their e-mail reply I started searching for reviews on the company and found this site and the comments others have filed about recent problems dealing with EMS. At least it looks like people have been getting their merchandise, eventually. I'll post another message if things go further downhill from here.

My advice at this point would be to avoid this reseller at least until they start answering their phones.

"Not the greatest experience in the world. I put my order in on the 18th, but I never recieved tracking number. For a week. After two e-mails without a response, one good e-mail, one bad, I called the office. They were quite good on that end. I got my tracking number and found out that my order shipped yesterday (July 23). Quite a few days past the "1-2 business days" that they state, but at least I know now. All I need is the e-mail with the tracking numbers and I'll be all set. It was too much of a hassle, though, and I won't be buying from EMS again any time soon."

"July 14 2002: Placed order

Credit card was charged immediately.

July 16: Sent email to ****@**** asking for tracking number or expected shipping date.

July 19 afternoon: Sent email asking to cancel order and have charge refunded.

July-19 evening: Received email in response to July-16 email, indicating order had shipped July-19. Tracking numbers not included in email.

July-22: Received automated email with fedex tracking numbers.

July-23: Received email in response to July-19 email (cancellation request) - said order was shipped

July-24: Received order with everything included.

Both emails took 3 days to get a response, but they did respond. Order took 5 business days to ship.

I'm used to having orders shipped the same day (usually) or the next day (sometimes) from buy.com and newegg.

If I wasn't concerned about how long it took, I might consider EMS again.

"EMS IS THE W O R S T. I shop a lot online for computer accessories. It arrived a MONTH after I ordered, even tho they said my item was in stock. There was NO way to contact EMS by phone. I tried ALL their extensions. I honestly thought that they had gone out of business.

I WOULD NEVER BUY FROM THEM AGAIN. POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. HUGE DELAY IN RECEIPT OF MY ORDER.

"Worst. Reseller. Ever. I ordered a simple PC card dongle on 07/04/02, and recieved the someone else's order on the 07/08/02. I immediately called them and asked me to send the correct part (after they did not respond to my email), but still have not heard anything, but a confirmation that I have the wrong part, and it is now 7/18/02"

"I received what I ordered when I expected it, in good condition.

I ordered three 8 mm tapes for my tape drive on the morning of the 9th, to be shipped by ground transportation to an address other than my billing address. On the morning of the 11th I saw an update to the status of my order - it had been shipped, and there was a FedEx tracking number. But no information available on where the package was coming from, or when it would arrive. The next day (the 12th) FedEx did finally show this data. Statusing could have been better in my mind.

The package arrived about 4 PM on the 16th, 5 1/2 business days after the order was placed. And 1 day before FedEx's estimated delivery date.

My credit card was charged on the day of the order, a day before package information was transmitted to FedEx. I think they cheated on their implied promise that the card would be charged "after notification that your order is scheduled to ship".

"Although I experienced very similar problems as a lot of these recent posts (8 days to ship), I think we should give EMS computing a chance to redeem themselves. I purchased many items from them in May, and I received the items the day after ordering, in fact it was around the same time I got my tracking number. I wasn't even prepared to get those items. June 24th I ordered some Logitech z-560's and I didn't hear anything about the order in a week, read some of these posts, and I decided to cancel it. I canceled it this past Monday, but they shipped out the items on Monday anyway via Fedex (all previous orders were shipped UPS). Unfortunately I reordered from Newegg, and yesterday I received the speakers from EMS computing, while another set on the way from Newegg. Fortunately I called Newegg and they said I could refuse shipment and they would fully reimburse me. They are unbelievable when it comes to customer service. Anyhow, lets hope EMS computing has their "problems" fixed and they return to the quality service they once had. I think they have some of the best shipping rates on large items like monitors.

"Here is my experience with EMS Computing.

Tuesday, 6/18 – Ordered Samsung 955DF 19” monitor and Enlight 7101AM case and immediately received confirmation of my order.

Monday, 6/24 – Hadn’t heard anything so sent them an e-mail requesting the status my order.

Tuesday, 6/25 – Received the “we are experiencing technical issues on our back end” e-mail.

Thursday, 6/27 – Sent another e-mail asking if they were still in business and for a realistic estimate of ship date.

Friday, 6/28 – Received reply stating that their problems had been fixed and most items were shipping that day, but that they wouldn’t be caught up on shipping until Tuesday. Also received a second e-mail stating “EMS would personally like to thank you for your recent purchase. Your trust, in no small part, has catapulted our recent growth and forced us to implement a new system to better the services we offer….”

Tuesday, 7/02 – Finally received tracking numbers for my order after two weeks!

Wednesday, 7/03 – Items arrived at my home in rural Iowa via FedEx.

I’m satisfied with the products and the prices were the best I could find, but shipping time was horrendous. This was my first time ordering from them. Up until a couple weeks ago their feedback was pretty good. I will only order from them again if their rating GREATLY improves. Hopefully they have their act together again!

"Something funny is going on... I checked out their reseller rating on 06-24-2002 before placing the order, and they didn't seem to have any negative feedback. Now, it's a week later. My monitor still hasn't shipped, and both resellerratings.com and bizrate.com have nothing but bad feedback for everything after June 24. It's like pod people have taken them over. I can't reach anyone via telephone, their web chat interface is not active, but I did get this message when I sent an inquiry via email:

I apologize for the delays in your order. In all honesty, we have been experiencing technical issues on our back end. Our development team has worked around the clock to ensure we correct this issue as soon as possible. Our software upgrades allow us to better serve you, and we appreciate your patience. I guess they're still having these problems as my order has not shipped yet. I'm beginning to suspect these problems with their "back end" might be that their heads are lodged up it.

If I don't receive shipping info from them tonight, I'm going to cancel the order and get it from someplace that seems to still be an operating business of some sort.

"DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS COMPANY!

New or prospective shoppers, consider this a warning. Do not let the "Overall" rating for this company fool you. I read through the comments on this site before ordering, and thought that they seemed ok. I was wrong!

I placed an order on 6/24, and my credit card was charged on the same day. I have called and tried to speak with anyone in sales or customer service every day, but have not succeeded. Either option leads you to a recording and an answering machine. I have also tried emailing them, but have not received any replies!

This company sucks! It is not worth your time or money. If you want to save a dollar or two and avoid the headaches and the frustation of dealing with these idiots, then try a decent company such as newegg, monarch, z-buy or l-buy.

EMS sucks and should be investigated by the proper authorities!
