"I have had great luck with Essential Computers over the years. They send your order well packed, promptly (usually takes two to three business days), and are quick to respond to questions and problems. I will order from them in the future, and will reccomend them to anyone who needs a great PC parts source!!
The one and only real problem that I have experienced (REPEATEDLY) is that the people you contact via phone speak broken English at best. Communicating with their people is very difficult and does not leave one feeling very confident that a full understanding was reached. They need to get a native technically trained English speaker to support their phone and email help/support."

"I just recieved my Asus A7V8X motherboard from them, got it for a reasonable price and received it within two business days of my order. Very clean web site, and good prices (I previously purchased my Leadtek GeForce4 Ti4400 from them, and a DVI adapter separately). However, their pre-sales support staff seems to be less than knowledgeable about their products. I had e-mailed them asking whether the particular board I was going to order (the US$125 model A7V8X, there's also a US$112 model) had gigabit ethernet, and they told me it did. However, upon receiving it, I discovered it did NOT. I've sent them an e-mail regarding this error, and will post an update with their response when I receive it. Other than this mix-up, I give Essential Computer two thumbs up.

Apparently Asus discontinued the gigabit LAN without notifying their resellers, leaving Essential in a tight spot. They responded to my inquiry with incredible speed, and even though it wasn't their error they gave me a $5 coupon, and have already updated their page to reflect that it only has 10/100 LAN. Three thumbs up to these guys! :]"

"I purchased several items from them. The motherboard I bought (the MSI KT4 Ultra) is a new version.
After dealing with MSI technical technical support they said that the board had a bug.
I talked with several people at Essential Computers (all spoke broken english) and they said that they would have a "certified Microsoft technician" (Microsoft of course doesn't offer certifications in PC repair) look at it. If he deems it is okay then they will charge a 15% restocking fee.
He did not want to work with me on it unless I wanted to "upgrade" to another board. Ya, I really wanted to give him more of my money. He said he would fight me on it (understand, the restocking fee on a $100 board was about $15) and he would win. He said that all his technician had to do was say the board was okay and American Express would side with him.
I'm never buying from these people again. Why would I spend $30 on shipping just to spend another $10 to return an item and then spend another 15% of my purchase to get a refund on a defective item?!?!? Or, maybe I would have gotten lucky and the "certified" technician would have followed my instructions, used the same hardware I did, and discovered the same problem so that they would not take another $15 from me. Ya right.
I rather deal with MSI directly rather than these jerks.
If you buy from these people just pray you don't receive a defective item."
