"We placed our order on September 4th, but it did not ship until September 27th. During this time, it was nearly impossible to reach customer service. When calling their customer service line, after 20-30 minutes, you still could not reach anyone. The only way to get a response from them was to use their automated e-mail form, which took 3 days to get a response.
When calling their sales line (the only way to get someone on the phone) and ask any questions other than wanting to place an order, I was simply transferred to customer service (put on hold again), or in some cases hung up on or disconnected. When the order finally did ship, it took over a week to arrive, and they were additionally a day later than their scheduled delivery. When the item finally arrived (over 5 weeks after order), it was significantly damaged.

"I'm starting to get very nervous with this company. I ordered a GE Profile microwave with them on 9/9. I waited the 7-10 business days before contacting them about the order. When I called I found out that they would be closed for two days due to a holiday. So I then sent an email through their website. I got a response back within a few hours. Which seemed weird. Don't get me wrong, I loved the quick response, but I thought they were closed for a holiday? Anyway, on the next businests day, my order status was updated to "Shipped." This was on 10/4. On 10/6, the retailer is saying the microwave was shipped and picked up by UPS. UPS is saying that they have not received the microwave, only billing information. I do alot of selling on eBay so I use UPS alot and I find it hard to believe that two days have passed without UPS updating their information to show that the microwave has been received. I'm starting to feel like I've been scammed. Hopefully, it's just me being paranoid, but I wanted to share my month long experience in hopes that it helps someone. I post in a couple of weeks with the outcome of my situation."
"Ordered a grill on September 13, 2010. Merchant stated shipping time of 7-10 business days. Contacted on 9/20 and told another 7-10 days. Contacted again on 9/26 and told another 7-10 days. Spoke with customer service on 10/4 and told item "on the dock waiting for the next truck" and that it would ship by 10/7. Received email on 10/6 stating item back ordered expect another 7-10 days! Canceled order. Done with these guys."

This might help you in deciding to do business with HomeEverything.com or Not....I am remodeling our kitchen and needed new appliances. After reading the many pros and cons about ordering from HomeEverything.com, I decided to give them a try because honestly, their prices are very good prices. I took the caution to call and make sure they have when I need in stock - 4 pieces of GE Profile appliances (about $4K total). Called and talked to Shawn, who was very courteous, and he said they have them in stock so I placed the order. An hour later - I got an email saying my order is on back order with the manufacturer! Try calling back but the phone is busy. I hear myself saying... “Oh sh_t, I should have just gotten them at Lowes”.... stay tuned, will post more updates.
UPDATE 10/4 - after posting this, I actually got a call from a Customer Services Manager from HomeEverything.com. He saw this on the internet and wants to resolve it for me. He said he will get everything shipped out in 24 hours and upgraded my shipping and warranty! I am impressed with the customer service and let's hope the order will arrive fine. He did give me his name and extension and asked that I call him if I have any further issues.
UPDATE 10/11/10: Well, we got a call last Wed saying they will deliver our appliances on Friday. Sure enough, everything arrived and they called us 1/2 hour before. The driver even help pushed the applianes into the garage. All pieces arrived fine and there were massive bubble wrap around the induction cooktop to ensure it did not get damaged. Since we are not installing till next week, we didn't take the appliances out of the box, but they look fine from what we can see. So, lessons learned here is that HomeEverything does have the best price, and patience is important, and if there are any problems, make sure you contact a manager. He will do everything he can to make you happy. I will definitely but from them again. In fact, I ordered a Weber grill (with price matching)last week and it is on its way already. "
"I am surprised at the disproportionate number of five star ratings for home everything on review sites. I just looked them up on the Better Business Bureau website (bbb.org) and they have a C- rating. Like a lot of other people, I have had a bad experience with them.
I have edited my original review because my refrigerator has finally shipped, five weeks after my credit card was charged and I received one e-mail the day I ordered and then no word on progress (except for me calling the busy customer service number multiple times and waiting on hold multiple times only to be told 7 more business days twice). I was beginning to think I should cancel and that home everything was a scam company. All they need to do to fix this problem is to be upfront about how long processing and shipping really will take. The website says 2 days for processing and 5-7 business days for shipping, and then covers their legal end with some vague "different orders will take different amounts of time depending on bla bla bla" line. Instead in my case it took five weeks for processing and another 10 days for shipping. I will not be using this company again.
I should have read the bad reviews online instead of trusting the average star ratings. Avoid, avoid, avoid! "
"Poor experience. Ordered an over the stovetop microwave to replace an old one that died on a Thursday. Monday got an email that the order was being processed, I hoped that it was a shipping notice. A week after ordering, still no shipping. A call reveals they're closed Thursday and Friday for a Jewish holiday. I cancelled by their online contact system and received a reply, stating that I need to call to cancel. What a joke.
A request to cancel through their system is perfectly valid. A week wasted. I ordered elsewhere and moved on. First and last time ordering from them."
"I needed to replace a non-functioning appliance. After some research on product & price, I decided to place the order with Home Everything. My card was charged the same day. This did not concern me since I immediately received emails both confirming my order and letting me know that it was already being prepared for shipment. One and one-half weeks later I had still not received a tracking number or any sort of update.
I opted to contact them for an update, and 2 days later I was told that processing (5-10 days total) had been delayed an ADDITIONAL 7-14 days due to 'the recent holidays.' I subsequently discovered that they celebrate some obscure holiday and are closed for up to 5 days - this holiday began 2 days after I placed my order. I understand they may be scaring customers away by being up front about their bloated holiday schedule, but I find the lack of disclosure in poor taste. They compounded that poor taste by telling me that, if I so chose, I could pay extra to expedite processing—NOT SHIPPING, but processing. I consider this to be fraudulent and unfair.
Ordering from Home Everything was definitely not worth the $60 I saved by not purchasing from a (nationally reputable) big box retailer. I could be waiting up to 24 days for PROCESSING ALONE! Who knows how long shipping will take??? I canceled my order and requested a refund. I wish I had done more research on Home Everything before I placed an order with them. I was disheartened to find so many poor reviews detailing very similar issues. I have little hope that my experience with this online retailer will come to a satisfactory conclusion. I'm most likely going to have to institute a chargeback with my bank if their business practices heretofore are any indication...STAY AWAY!!!

"After writing this review I was contacted by customer service from HomeEverything. They were upset about my review but very quickly made it right. They expedited the shipping of my microwave oven and I received it two days later. They also told me they were updating their webpage to show their holidays schedule. The problem I had with the shipping time was that it concided with the days they would be closed for holidays. I had no idea this was even involved. I believe they honestly were not aware of this and I appreciate the way they handled my order after it was brought to their attention. I will order from them again.
I ordered a Maytag Over the stove microwave oven on 9/15/2010. Today is 9/30/2010 and I have not yet received the microwave. I contacted the customer service department with 2 emails; each response was that they were preparing the shipment and it would be 7-14 says to receive a tracking number. They are talking about 7-14 business days. My husband called them yesterday and they told him they were waiting to get a truck going south to ship the oven because they are offering free shipping and they don't get trucks going south very often. I might add they charged my credit card immediately upon the order which is unusual. I did read the reviews on this company and there wasn't anything negative, but I'm not happy with how I was treated. First of all, most companies charge the account upon shipping the product; having them charge immediate is a big concern. The fact that you can't really get a good response when you email them is another concern. My husband called them and was told that the oven should go out at the end of next week; the delay was based on getting a truck going south and the Jewish holidays?..HUH?
I'm not Jewish so does that mean everyone working there is Jewish and they shut down during the holidays? I can respect that but don't you think you should have told someone? I'm not a happy camper at this point."
