"I went to the showroom on Feb 17th and worked with the design consultant and purchased the Eliot Sofa. The sofa was delivered on Feb 27th, by the way, great turnaround time. 3 days later, on Feb 29th, I noticed that the button on the cushion was not stitched properly and came loose, making it stick out from the other 8 buttons. I contacted the design consultant and she asked for pictures, which I provided, and she informed me that she would ask the warranty department to see what they can do. Unfortunately, since the button on the cushion is cosmetic, it was not covered as this was a clearance item and that my solution is to contact an upholsterer.
These are the reasons for 3 stars rating: 1) Policies for purchased item should have better customer support. Clearance item or not, stand by your product. It would be completely different if this was 3 months, I will even give it 3 weeks, from the delivery date. But 3 days and no help, that's questionable business practice. 2) JOYBIRD needs to be better with standing behind their quality and craftsmanship. "Our skilled workshop team holds themselves to the highest standards because we care." If this was true, they clearly missed the opportunity here.
The takeaway...shop around. Find a company that truly stands behind their quality and craftsmanship regardless if the item is on clearance or not. Just because their mission statement says it, they need to mean it. "
