good products, terrible customer service

"Post one price on the website. Then when adding the product to the cart, the price almost doubles. I was thinking of giving Joybird another chance (after a terrible customer experience 3 years ago) – since the products after all are really good. But unfortunately, the customer service is still terrible."

"Every encounter I have had with customer service @ Joybird has been positive! They have always been able to fix any issues I have had and I am a happy customer.
The products are also made with quality and care! Love my Elliot sofa, ottoman & pillows, only wish that they still carried the Prime Blush fabric option.
Definitely recommend Joybird!

A job made easier by customer rep.

"We had watched the product for some time on line. The style and color seemed right, but something kept us back. Finally, I phoned and missed any available representative. I phoned back and got this young man who took me through the process of describing the unit and that, along with some great tech information I got from a query to the tech division involving construction, assured us that these were the chairs to buy. Living in the furniture capital of the world, High Point, NC, I told the rep I knew just enough to be dangerous. He was pleasant and very confident in his information and the process. We had a couple of laughs as I tried, in vain, to negotiate a better price. I had to try. In the end, the details all came together and the price and shipping were all quite fair and this world of 'logistics'. Order placed and hard fabric samples on the way. We look forward to the manufacture and shipping of our two new chairs."

Unethical business practices

"Joybird knowingly misleads their customers saying product is ‘high quality’, designed to last a lifetime, etc, when in all actuality they manufacture the lowest quality crap anywhere.

My 6 month old Holt sofa is falling apart, literally makes my body hurt when I sit on it, and looks like a 10 year old sofa. Joybird refuses to take any responsibility for the quality of their product and then says that there is nothing they can do because it is out of warranty.

The only suggestion they have is that I spend another $1800 to get replacement cushions.

Besides that, had I returned the sofa during the 90 day return period (1/4 as long as the standard furniture warranty) they charge the customer for return shipping as well as a 10% restocking fee!!!

MY ADVICE TO ANYONE CONSIDERING THIS COMPANY IS STAY AWAY!!!

Additionally, Fabric pilling does not necessarily mean that the fabric is defective and even the best fabrics can have this issue. Furthermore, we can confirm your first claim was submitted after the 90-day return window which prevents us from accepting your return. We thank you for your understanding.”

Overpriced low quality furniture

"I purchased a sectional from joybird in dec 2021 for almost $4000. Upon receiving it, the cushions don’t fit properly, the seams are crooked and the fabric is stretched and low quality. I wouldn’t have paid $500 for it if I’d seen it in person. The company told me the cushions needed time to “break in”. Definitely not. A year later it looks worse than ever. Absolutely regret this purchase. If joybird didn’t bury their bad reviews I would have known better. Horrible horrible horrible product. "

Save your money!

"Purchased our couch less than 2 months ago and we noticed the back one of the cushions has a tear in the seam…called customer service and they said there is nothing they can do for us. Paid thousands of dollars for a couch that broke in less the 60 days. Save your money and buy a couch that’s better quality! "

Can not delivery a proper couch in 8 months!

"The worst experience ever. I ordered a couch back in July 2022. It is now February 2023 and after the 4 deliveries of the couch, they still have not gotten it right.

They are unable to offer any type of discount for the fact that it has taken 8 months to get me a proper couch... and the 4th time was not a charm. The first time, the 2 pieces were not aligned. The 2nd delivery, the couch had a hole in it. The 3rd delivery the couch had a funky smell... which apparently I am not the first to report. And the 4th delivery was missing the bracket to attach it to the other couch piece. What a mess!

Poor manufacturing quality, terrible support

"I wrote a very long, detailed, 1-star review of my YEAR LONG process with Joybird and got my $25 for it, yet they haven't posted it online. Interesting. For a shorter recap, bed delivery was delayed for a month initially. Frustrating but whatever. When it was delivered, the white glove delivery I paid for didn't happen because "someone had to go home" from the delivery team. So my husband and I put together the bed, because we had our mattress being delivered the next day. There were missing slats and hardware pieces and some of the upholstery was damaged due to the way it was shipped. Additionally, one end of the footboard was poorly finished, causing lumps and wrinkles in the upholstery. I opened a claim. Then spent 10 months trying to actually get it remedied. During that timeframe we got an entire new slat system shipped to us (we just needed 1 piece!), a technician showed up randomly to "build the bed", I guess he was here to build the new slat system, but since we had no idea that person was coming we declined because we were working. An upholstery tech was scheduled, canceled last minute, then finally got someone months into the claim. At this point the channel seams on the headboard had started to pop out. He stated the bed was poorly manufactured and likely Joybird would replace rather than pay him to spend so much time repairing it. I then spend several more weeks (months?) back and forth with JB trying to get them to honor this. They finally ordered a replacement, I waited weeks for this to be delivered to the local warehouse. When they scheduled delivery, I made sure they were going to breakdown the old frame, take it away, and build the new one. When the team showed up, they informed me they couldn't do anything but build the new bed. I don't have room for two king sized beds, so we sent them away. JB was insistent that they couldn't break the bed down. Then randomly I got an email that someone could be scheduled to come out and take it down then schedule within a week to take it away and build the new one. This did FINALLY happen. Almost a full year later I have the replacement bed. And guess what?? It has the same problems. Same poorly finished footboard, same damage from shipping and I can see the channel seams are going to pop again. Unreal. Avoid them!!!"

Table could not stand under its own weight!

"I ordered an expensive glass top table. After waiting 5 weeks for the "build," the delivery people opened the boxes and the legs were in pieces. It did not appear that they were damaged but, rather, that they had never been glued and nailed together by the manufacturer. Unfortunately, this was to be delivered on December 21st. Obviously, there is no Christmas dinner this year. Attempting to speak with customer service is a nightmare. There phones are busy and you are forced to leave a voicemail as if you were calling an individual person as opposed to an actual business. The chat function is delayed and the assistants are not able to provide any useful information. The chat assistants continuously asked me to fill out a warranty card for new legs, even though the delivery was refused and the delivery company took it away. At this point, I am contacting my credit card company to dispute the charge. This is not a reputable company as far as I can tell from either a furniture manufacturer/sales standpoint or customer service. I would strongly advise purchasing from any other company. "
