"I received my sectional in early November and as of April 1st, I am still trying to resolve the quality issues. The base of the sectional arrived with scratches, the legs did not attach correctly, and the filling in cushions was inconsistent. Arranging for furniture repair takes weeks and I have to follow up to ensure that it happens. After the repair person placed an order for replacement parts, I heard nothing from Joybird and had to follow up. In addition, they can't explain why the cushions on one side of the sectional are filled properly but the other side is not. When I asked to return the entire sectional after all the delays and insufficient fixes, they told me that I would be charged for shipping costs. This is the worst customer experience I've ever had. Do not order from Joybird. "
"I spent $1000 on a set of outdoor furniture but the wood discolored after 3 months. The tabletop is also a poor quality painted glass that looks nothing like the picture on the website.They want me to pay $300 of shipping to accept a return. They also won't publish my reviews on their site and didn't honor $25 credit they claim I should get for writing a product review.
I would avoid, go to more established companies like C&B or Article that can deliver on their promises."
"I bought the Hopson Sofa in Essence Ash, looking specifically for something comfortable and stylish. It was even better that it was delivered into my living room! The couch is a quality fabric, but its not scratchy or firm. The cushions have broken in nicely and the couch is quite comfortable. I loved being able to choose the fabric and the wood for the couch.
Not only that, but customer service is amazing. They're quick to respond and always helpful."
"We stumbled across Joybird about 7 years ago searching online for mid-century style furniture. From there it became a love affair. We purchased our first piece from them, a turquoise Hughes Sofa, during their first year in business and have since purchased several other pieces over the years. The Hughes Sofa remains our center piece. It’s a constant source of compliments anytime someone is in our home. We’ve had several friends also become fans and purchase various items. Since our first order what we have loved the most, other than their exceptionally beautiful furniture, is there above and beyond customer service. When one of the buttons on our Korver chair came off, they immediately had a local company come and sew it back. When our Edgar bed frame was recalled due to needing an additional leg, they promptly replaced this too. 6 years later, we can see why Joybird has become such a in demand company. Because they handcraft and build all of their furniture in house, you may have to wait a little longer than most big box stores, but you are guaranteed to receive a high quality piece of furniture that will also be your centerpiece for many years to come. We’ve already been eyeing some new pieces for our patio. "

After moving across the country, from NYC to OKC, we had a lot of room to fill and while we loved a lot of our furniture, it was just too small for our new home (from a small 1 bedroom in NYC to a house). We found it really easy to find a sofa and fabric that fit seamlessly into our already existing furniture aesthetic. The process was really easy, I'm very happy with the way it looks. I recently purchased the Hopson reversible sectional in turquoise, as well as the Collete rug.
My boyfriend and I moved halfway across the country and have been watching movies from the comfort of camping chairs for 6 months. If I put as much effort into school as I did into finding the perfect couch, I would be a rocket scientist by now. We thought we had found the perfect sofa multiple times, but there was always a 'but'. 'But' it's too small, doesn't have a chaise, contains feathers, doesn't come in the right color, has a chaise but it isn't reversible, has a reversible chaise but people say it's wobbly, doesn't come with a good guarantee, costs half the price of the sofa to ship, costs half the price of the sofa if we want to return it, won't make it up three flights of stairs, won't get here for another 3 months, etc. The 'but's stopped with Joybird.
I had initially passed on Joybird because everything is so pricey, however found that even lower quality sofas were a lot steeper than I anticipated unless I wanted something that would literally fall apart in months. After reading countless reviews both on site and off, I felt much more comfortable as nearly everyone seemed to have a great experience with this company. Not to mention that every piece of furniture is beautiful, as well as customizable to suit both my needs and my boyfriend's nonnegotiables (namely: the reversible chaise).
It took about 4 weeks or so to arrive from when we placed the order, not counting the ridiculously long time it took for us to decide on a fabric. The bundle of swatches Joybird sent to help with our choice were unbelievable. Enough options that I could make a quilt out of them. We narrowed our options down, then expanded them, then narrowed them down again, then tried to make the cat decide. We used them as tiny coasters. We spread them out across the floor. It was an arduous process, to say the least.
Lo and behold, we made a decision, and eventually received our sofa. It is beautiful. I refer to it as The Cadillac because it is also very large. I can lie across it and my feet will not touch the chaise cushion (I'm 5'2"). My boyfriend and I can both lie on the chaise. Even our cat can join in and we would still have room for a future dog. The cushions are very firm! When I initially sat down, I thought I might be thrown from it. I say this as a positive thing - it is incredibly comfortable, and feels very substantial. I like a firm seat and my boyfriend likes a soft cushion, and we are both equally pleased. The cushions are reversible so you can turn them to decrease signs of wear over time.
My cat has been lying on the sofa since he got over his initial fear of it, and despite his tendency to sink his claws into things while he stretches out, has not left a single mark. He is also a grey cat and I cannot see any of his fur on it, even in places where he tends to lie. Joybird is not kidding when they refer to a fabric as 'pet friendly' - Dobby refuses to leave the sofa.
My one and only negative comment is about the shipping company. The men who moved the couch in were very efficient and polite, but the company itself is very unorganized. I had read many comments stating this, but brushed them off as I thought the customers had miscommunicated. This does not seem to be the case.
I will warn you that if you have two different contact numbers for the shipping company, maybe don't. They ask for a phone number to call the day before for scheduling, and another for the 30 minute window before they arrive. Long story short, they called my number instead of the boyfriend's (I was at work) and we missed the delivery despite boyfriend taking the day off to wait for it.
When I called back to reschedule and confirmed MULTIPLE times that this time they were to call MY phone number because I would take the day off this time, they called...my boyfriend. At work. They also called when they were outside and not 30 minutes before. We nearly missed this delivery also, but luckily boyfriend saw the call in time.
This brings me to Joybird's customer service. They compensated me for the delivery issues without hesitation, and more significantly actually read and wrote a genuine response to my email. They also sent us a 'thank you' gift after we received our sofa, which came as a huge surprise to me! They respond very promptly to any correspondence, and the customer service team is SO friendly, personable, and again - genuine. These things go such a long way for me. Between the quality of furniture and the quality of the customer experience, I would always choose Joybird and recommend them to everyone. If you are looking for things that bring you joy, you've found a company to provide them. Joybird is nothing but accurately named."
"My Joybird experience was wonderful. I ordered fabric samples and sat with them for months before making my decision, and having them really helped me choose a couch that fits well into my decor. I was given constant updates about where my couch was in building and shipping. The couch itself is firm but comfortable, and I can tell it will continue to break in and be exactly what I need. I got the Hughes Twin Sleeper couch, and the sleeper is also very comfortable. I use it as my primary bed, but as a small person I feel like I can get away with it. For a taller or heavier person I think the memory foam may start to sink in after a while, but would be perfect as a guest bed. I got the orange couch of my dreams and I'm very pleased!!"
"I bought the Eliot Apartment Sectional with Bumper in Bentley Daisy about two years ago and it continues to be a beautiful couch. My dogs accidentally destroyed a cushion and the customer service team worked quickly to get me a replacement. Now it looks as beautiful as it always did. Thank you Joybird!"
