The only complaint I have is that the callback system for customer support did not seem to reduce my hold time that much. The system called me back, but then it took close to 15 minutes before Toby and I were connected. So, I had to wait longer than I wantedd to, but the end result was positive. "I wanted to return an item. I accidentally purchase wrong Computer Case. A lot of them look the same. When I process refund there was a charge of restocking fee and shipping. I know it was my fault of the purchase but thought hey let me see what Newegg can do. I'm a first time customer with Newegg and spent a decent amount so I wanted to see if they can waive shipping or restock fee. "Newegg used to be a go-to site for me, but recently, I've had far too many problems with things being listed as "in stock" when they're not. Many times, I've gone to order something that will show, for example, 8 items in stock. Oftentimes, I've looked many other places, but decided on Newegg because of the quantity. But when I go to place the order, it doesn't go through, because it turns out there are only 5 in stock. Yet when I go back to the listing, it still shows 8--and it's not a caching issue, as I'll clear the cache, try other browsers, try other computers, and try from different ISPs (e.g., cellular vs. wired). I've encountered this issue way too many times now.
Most recently, I ordered qty 3 of something that was listed as "In Stock," and had it drop shipped--overnight--for a traveling colleague. 10 days later, they asked "what happened to the shipment?!" I checked Newegg, and the status showed that nothing had shipped from the warehouse yet. Worse still, I couldn't even edit or cancel the order, which was quite a problem since my colleague was about to leave their location. I called Newegg, and even the representative couldn't cancel nor change the shipping location.
Really, I used to love Newegg, but I will avoid them going forward unless it doesn't matter when something ships, or if it ships."
