"It was always a pleasure buying from Newegg.com. Good prices, fast shipment, good support. But Newegg management showed its true colors with its February 2018 data forfeiture to Connecticut. I had a reasonable expectation of data privacy, which was violated without notice, warning or appeal. In an email to me, after the fact, Newegg claimed this was done because of a "new Connecticut law". When I politely inquired of Newegg support what "new law" was being referred to, support took 9 days to respond. In its eventual reply, my original question was ignored and I was instructed to read Connecticut's tax laws. It then took 4 additional support requests (while support tried to "earn" my business) before support would terminate my Newegg account per my request.
I most certainly take issue with Newegg's decision to forfeit data out of the obvious intention of self-preservation. However, Newegg acted dishonestly and used evasive and misdirecting tactics when communicating with me concerning this issue. That's my red-line. While I feel that Connecticut's methods in this matter were atrocious, I take issue with Newegg for its own mishandling of this matter.
In product advertisements there is usually a "No Tax" statement next to the Newegg's product's price. Newegg promotes "No Tax" just like it promotes "Free Shipping", and in doing so leverages its absence of nexus. This is a form of tax evasion without liability and adds to customer confusion over purchase taxation. Yet Newegg would forfeit buyer data to a state that threatens despite no standing with nexus. There are many historical examples of corporate integrity acting for the welfare of customers - the Tylenol scare comes to mind. Despite historical evidence that good treatment of the customer trumps all else, Newegg "sold out" a portion of its customers. This will not go unnoticed by all Newegg customers. Having now set a precedent with Connecticut, I presume that all states will want their share of Newegg's data as well.
Newegg, in my opinion, acted dishonestly in this matter in all respects, from promoting "No tax", to forfeiting data in volition of its own privacy policy without permission or warning, to making false statements to its Connecticut customers after the fact, to being evasive with its customers. Going forward, in my mind this places Newegg as the highest risk online merchant to purchase from, prompting me to go out of my way to purchase from alternative sources."

"I ordered two (2) different items on the New egg website, however one of these two items was ordered twice accidentally; Probably because I did it off my smartphone (small screen). So I chose to contact the ''chat'' customer service at New egg to this effect to have the duplicate order cancelled and have just 2 items shipped instead of 3. I was greeted by Chelsea W. who spoke in a professional and concise manner. I was very pleased to have no further complications with her assistance. If you need to ask any questions, you may contact the New egg customer service team with confidence. Moreover, it was around 12:30 am in Canadian eastern time when I contacted them and they were open on a Tuesday (night) / Wednesday (morning). Unlike bigger corporations which have specific business hours for the service they offer... such as telecommunications businesses for example... without mentioning any names... ROGER that captain!? Does it ring a BELL?! Ahem! Any who! My opinion is that New egg deserves to have your business when it comes to computer solutions matters!"
"I bought a macbook pro 2017 and ordered them to be sent to a fedex pick up locations (a local walgreens nearby). For whatever reason, the location was deemed undeliverable (The address autofill itself once I click on a place) and they sent a notification that the order is being sent back and I will get a refund on the purchase. I double checked on FedEx, Walgreens, and Newegg website afterward, and there is no reason why the address should be deemed undeliverable. That's ridiculous.
First time I called customer service, I let out all of my frustrations to Kiki, but she was SO calm and sweet with her response. Although there was nothing she could do then to reverse the process, she went above and beyond and offered to call me back at the end of the week to make sure my refund went through so I can order the item again.
As soon as the item became available again, my original order refund hasn't come through, but I went ahead and call customer service again to ask if I can get an exemption on the cost for a one day shipping (Because had the order went through the first time, I would've gotten the item on thursday/friday, and I the item was available again on wednesday night). I spoke to tobias and explained my whole ordeal, and he was also very professional and prompt with his response and told me that Newegg will be able to cover the one-day shipping cost once I get an invoice for the second order and to call back then.
Today is friday, and I got the laptop, and I completely forgot to call them back because I was so busy. But to my surprise, Kiki called back! I got my MacBook on time, and the shipping cost covered, and you guys are awesome again!"
