"I've never had a bad experience ordering from NewEgg. I've always heard about their amazing customer service but never needed it in the over decade that I've been a NewEgg customer. But this past Christmas I ordered from a NewEgg marketplace seller who did not live up to their end of the bargain. Since it was not NewEgg, I didn't realize that NewEgg customer service would be able to help me. I worked directly with the seller for almost three months and received dismissive, even insulting service (Red Tag Sales is the seller). When enough was enough, I went to leave a review for the seller. I was holding off to give them the benefit of doubt. The chance to make it right. But alas, NewEgg has a time limit of 60 days. So, unable to leave my review, I contacted NewEgg seeking a way to leave a review. My representative - Skylar C - took the time to fully read and comprehend the issue and it's history of email threads. Then, immediate action steps were taken and explained to me. I am going to receive the product I should have received. NewEgg is going to make sure it happens. And they were not even the ones who sold it to me. All the stories are true. recieved computer with wrong graphics card 2/3
talked to newegg customer service on phone who suggested to me the fastest way to get the correct computer would be to request a refund, as opposed to exchange. so i requested refund. he assured me that the refund would be expedited.
computer sent back & received by newegg 2/9
various attempts to contact via email recieved what appear to be "stock" copy & paste , generic replies that do not address my questions.
call customer support again around 2/17.. they can't figure out what is going on & finally say they have "expedited" it. they confirm it was apparently not expedited before that time, and can't tell me how much longer it will take.
now (2/20) the item is no longer in stock & I still don't have money refunded or any word from newegg.
this is a item that was priced well (a good deal) so it is unlikely that it will come back in stock. my only option at this point is to buy the item directly from dell, for about $200 more..
moral of the story:
-do not expect to receive exactly what you order from newegg.
-if you need an item within a certain amount of time, do not rely on newegg.
i have wasted a lot of time on this, my money has been ****, and now it appears i'll have to spend more money to buy the computer (graphics card prices and hence complete system prics have gone up). not to mention the almost 1 month delay in recieving my item with still no quick resolution in sight?
