"I have been a Newegg customer for many years. Late last year I ordered 2 items during Newegg's black Friday sale. Only one was delivered, however I was charged for both items. Over the last two months, I have contacted Newegg several times, and have been told a credit was being issued on more than one occasion. Nothing has been credited. The problem seems to be that their 'accounting' deparment can't add numbers. Seriously, the invoice says 1 item at $129, and the invoice total is $272. Hmm, that does not add up. I was told NOT to dispute the charge with my credit card company as that 'blocks' my account and they could not issue a refund. "Ordered RAM, PSU, and gfx card. Gfx card included promo game. PSU promo include USB dongle and some other throw-in-a-drawer item. Invoice itemization shows add and reduction of price for PSU promo items, but only the addition for the game price as a separate invoice #. Bank statement shows two separate charges - first for three main items, second for the full MSRP + tax of the game. No reply to email. Chat claimed I wasn't charged for second invoice. Bank says otherwise.

"Attempted to purchase an old refurbished macbook pro and they wouldn't ship the order until I called THEM. Every time I called them the wait was >1 hour and I didn't have the time in my day to wait that long. No option to get a call. No option to verify online.
How can a business think it's okay to make a customer wait and go through so much effort after dropping >$1K on one of their products? Absolute garbage.

Ordered a laptop computer 12/27/2018. Received it 1/9/19 Okay so far.
Started to load the thing with docs and apps. Closed the lid to read the MS code on the bottom and the screen never lit up again.
Called for an exchange, the guy says no problem. I said "your website says your out of stock." He claims to have one and it will ship in 2 days, if I give them my credit card number to expedite shipping while I return the defective one. I ship the defective one on 1/11 and it is received by them on 1/15. On 1/16, I call "Where is my replacement computer?" Sorry we are out of stock. Give me a refund, "Okay, you will be refunded in 2-3 business days."
MLK Day 1/21, a computer gets delivered. I think okay they got it worked out. NOOOOOPE, they shipped a computer with 1/2 the memory, speed and data storage, and $100 less value. I call 4 times and spend 5 hrs on the phone. Finally a manager says they will refund me in 2-3 days IF I give them a credit card number to cover the wrong computer in case I don't ship it. OKAY, did that. I shipped on 1/22. Today is 1/25, I am on hold for the 2nd hour. Still don't have a refund. They have hung up on me twice. I let them know I'm really "fed-up" I have used no profanity, but I'm about to. Making the 3rd call now. Another rep only authorized to apologize. The current call is now 1 hr. long with no resolution in sight.
DO NOT BUY FROM THESE PEOPLE unless you like being ripped off and enjoy frustration, Oh, and also being without a computer for 3 weeks.
I bought a laptop from BackMarket.com on 1/17. That's why I'm so angry, that NewEgg still has my money. I needed to load Win10 on it but I got it on time and it was a better value."

"Newegg's customer service has been declining for years. They still have good deals once in a while but it's not worth the hassle. The latest incident I didn't receive a digital download and even after a live chat, 2 phone calls, and contacting their social media team they unilaterally refused to assist. They are a bad company riding on the coattails of their previous reputation. Take your business elsewhere.
EDIT: After I posted this, Lindsay from Newegg's public image team reached out to me and issued a refund. It's not ideal that it took half a dozen contact attempts to get a resolution, but I do appreciate them making it right in the end. I increased from 1 to 3 stars."

"Ok so lets start with i'm from Australia, newegg just recently started officially doing business here, I was looking for an external HDD, 8TB or more, I found that the seagate backup plus was a good drive, I love seagate stuff so I went looking, local stores are charging over $300 for it but then newegg popped up and had it on sale for $230ish dollars, so I think bargain, watched and read reviews it all looked good so I ordered the drive, it took about a week to get here which was fast so I assumed they had their AU warehouse up and running, opened the box and was excited until I saw the US power brick, every review i'd seen either mentioned an international power brick or showed one, the specs on the seagate site were a little less clear but every other 3.5" external drive i've ever bought had one, most tech does, but this one didn't so I talk to newegg CS chat and they suggest an RMA, so I start one, it fails before it completes, I then email newegg CS and get a reply about a week later telling me I can't RMA it, after about a month of several useless emails from several different CS staff members telling me completely different things I decide to start a paypal dispute, if newegg can't help i'm not losing money becasue of their unwillingness to do anything. After about a month of waiting paypal sides with them(obviously coerced/paid off/whatever), so i'm out $230, I can buy a power supply for around $40-$50, and last week I get another email from another CS staff member telling me if I go out and buy a power supply they'll reimburse me the cost, after the way they've dealt with this I doubt it'd would happen, there would be some loophole where they'd claim I didn't do something right or becasue I used an after market power supply the drive is now uncovered by warranty and can't be returned, this is the state of mind they've put me in. There's is way more to this story but it's way too much to be typing here.
In conclusion newegg are complete untrustworthy trash, don't do business with them, there are plenty of reviews(maybe I should have done research on the site first, but i'd heard good things from people years ago, seems after new management newegg went to s**t though), bad reviews, people having terrible CS issues, incompetent staff at all levels of the business, don't waste your money, literally any other tech retailer would be better, I know this now.

"Long time customer of over 10 years. Latest I was worried as I went through their phone menu to return an unopened hard drive I bought by mistake and was denied. I got ahold of customer service and they understood what happened and I returned the item and was able to purchase what I wanted. Wish the phone menu worked. But the service was awesome when I called. I always go back to Newegg for computer stuff and technology. Haven't been disappointed yet except for battery I bought a couple months ago that died after 2 months but that's a manufacturer issue. So if you need technology items, Newegg is the place to go."
"Without getting too long winded, had an issue placing my order to a FedEx pickup location. It took 2 days to get in touch with anyone from customer service just to get my very simple question answered. Because of this, I ended up losing out on a deal I had in my cart. Okay, **** happens, we move on. Now that I lost a few days and am paying a little more for a replacement item from the one I lost out on, I then decide to pay expedited shipping and processing to get it here on time. This part went great! The order arrived the very next day, super excited to go pick it up and wouldn't you guess it. All the items were there, except the RAM, which leaves the entire build useless without it. I call to have the shipping j paid for reimbursed because, hey what was the point of expediting something I can't use because all of it didn't come. The best they did was offer a $25 credit to my next purchase on newegg and it'll take at least 2 weeks to get the RAM I purchased. Amazingly inadequate and inept. Really got screwed over on this one. THANKS NEWEGG, really showing your great customer support. Literally the worst experience I've had purchasing computer parts. "
