They perform beautifully, BUT... there is a constant low-level sound from both speakers,
like water boiling, unaffected by input or any controls.
There is a defect here, but since they are out of stock, they offered a refund

"I have ordered a sound card on Dec 14th sure I would get it before Christmas. Every sign on their webpage was assuring that: the latest order date was Dec. 15th, the item was in stock, I got item shipped confirmation on the same day. As the item didn't show up by Dec 20th I started to worry. I contacted them and it turns out it was shipped by one of the re-sellers (OneOutletDeal), so I contacted them. It turns out they were out of stock and the item was on back order and they had no idea when it would be available. No one bothered to inform me. That was really disappointing. "I purchase a LOT of parts for computers over the internet. I do as much as I possibly can through newegg.com. The fact that I talk to real humans who do not read from a script is invaluable. Due to the volume I purchase parts in ($2k - $3k per month), I have to speak with someone 3, maybe 4 times a month, and I always feel like the staff do everything in their power to help me. No online retailer, big or small, has ever given me the feeling of customer satisfaction that I get from newegg.com.
