As a first time buyer, and not really having too much experience with returning merchandise online, I found the livesupport chat helpful (even though I had to wait half an hour), and after a mishap with shipping (UPS's fault), I called again and a friendly gentleman told me to just keep the item as its not worth the shipping cost (it was under $20).

"Recently I have ordered some computer stuff on www.newegg.ca (Inv.#1100001008 and Inv.#1100015547) and totally satisfied with their high level service, product quality and prices. Unfortunately, one item in my orders, the web cam Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 was not working properly (I tried several VX-3000 and everyone had the same bluring "quality"), I could not recognize even my face.
I asked Newegg to arrange a return of this piece of garbage, but Lillian Hu (a kind girl from Newegg) offered me even the better way:
"Since the cost of the item is not worth the shipping expense for having to return it and you are our valued customer I would like to issue a credit in the amount of $25 instead of returning the item. In this case the item does not need to be returned and you may do as you wish with it."

PRICE: Prices are usually quite low and very reasonable, often being a lot less than what you would find at a brick-and-mortar electronics or department store. The best deals are usually on products that include free shipping.
SHIPPING: The cost to ship my purchase (a 34-pound uninterruptible power supply) was $35 CAD. This was for UPS' standard worldwide shipping--the cheapest option for a shipment to Canada (a priority option was also available for $155 CAD).
Shipping was initiated quickly. My order was placed on a Friday afternoon and shipped about 8 hours later. Newegg.ca orders are shipped from their facility in New Jersey, so my package had to cross the border and switch hands to a different company before being delivered to me. My package was originally scheduled for delivery on Thursday, or 3 business days after placing my order (there was a holiday that week), which was very reasonable.
I ordered my item on Friday. It shipped to New York on Saturday where it waited to be sent across the border to Quebec on Monday. It went to Quebec and was shipped to New Brunswick Monday night and arrived late Tuesday afternoon. On Wednesday (a holiday) I was surprised to find that the package had had a 10.5 hour return trip to the facility in Quebec after having been scanned in New Brunswick, but the delivery date was still set for Thursday (the original date), and it was a holiday, so I wasn't too concerned. It arrived in New Brunswick again on Thursday around 6 PM local time, so the estimated delivery date was pushed back to Friday.
On Friday morning, my package arrived in Nova Scotia about 45 minutes from my location. Later that morning, a notice showed up in the UPS tracking file stating "INCORRECT ROUTING AT UPS FACILITY". So I figured they'd made a mistake and put my package on the wrong truck (an unprofessional, yet forgivable mistake). This would delay delivery until Monday, or 2 business days later than the original estimate.
Early Monday morning a new scan at the location occurred in the morning, followed by another message about 7 hours later: "INCORRECT ROUTING AT UPS FACILITY". I thought that one instance of putting my package on the wrong truck was unprofessional-yet-forgivable, but twice with the same package in two consecutive days was just plain incompetent. So I called UPS to get information on the reason for the shipping delays. The CSR looked at my file and told me that the facility didn't think it should be responsible for delivering the package to my area, although UPS' system showed that it was the proper location for packages with my postal code. She said she'd call them to straighten them out. I received a phone call around 7 PM Monday night from a UPS CSR, perhaps the same one, I'm not sure (she didn't sound out of breath after rolling a few heads at my local shipping facility, so perhaps it wasn't). She told me that my package had been placed on the wrong truck--although that's not what was stated earlier in the day--and would be delivered on Tuesday.
On Tuesday, a notice appeared on the tracking page: "OUT FOR DELIVERY". Sure enough, around 4 PM local time, I had my package.
WARRANTY/RETURNS: I haven't dealt with such things, but their policies and procedures are readily available on the website. In order to return a product, you must first contact customer service and obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number.
CUSTOMER SERVICE: N/A. Newegg's part of deal was executed well so I didn't experience their customer service.
Newegg.ca offers a good selection of items for good prices, especially if you can take advantage of their free shipping deals. They can't be blamed for the delays my item saw in being delivered to me, however they only have UPS shipping options available, so I will have to test out the same procedure the next time I order something from them. Adding a Canadian distribution centre and using established national shipping procedures could help these problems."
"The prices are very good and the shipping is prompt. Another thing I liked was that there are generally many reviews for the products written by customers, so it makes it easier to make decisions.
The only issue I had was in using a promo code. Since the items were to be shipped from two different warehouses, the order was somehow split into two and the promo code was applied on only one portion of order.
I did use the Online Chat service and it did not take very long to get a hold of someone to solve the problem, so that's good. However, the customer support representative told me to email them personally once I got the shipment so that they can issue me a credit (the missing rebate due to the promo code bug). I did so last week and I still have not had any response. Perhaps that person was on vacation? Anyway, I will update this review if and when this issue is resolved.
EDIT: The promo code issue was resolved today, so everything's good."
