"I don’t understand how they are still in business. They lie about services they perform (in my case honoring my warranty on a laptop). Neither store employees or management are the least bit helpful. In fact, if you have a problem with a lack of service, they just say, “I’m sorry but there’s nothing I can do.” Supervisors and managers are equally useless. They cost me ~$700 because of misinformation given to me so I reported them to the BBB. AVOID THIS STORE!!!!!"
"It takes Office Depot forever to process orders and ship. Then their prices are higher than the competition, too.
On the other hand, I placed an order online with their competitor, Target, and they shipped the order the same day and it arrived in two. Oh, and it was cheaper.

"I woke up one morning to an alert on my phone from my bank. Office Depot had taken $174 from my account. I called Office Depot to find out what the purchase was for then I was given two different answers. One rep said the purchase was for printer and a 2nd rep that I spoke to said it was for a membership. I never authorized either. I disputed my claim and they still took my money. Office Depot didn't seem to care about my claim nor my dispute just as long as they my money. Now I'm out of $174 and no merchandise to account for it. So basically they stole $174 from my account. Let this be a warning to all of those who are attempting to buy from Office Depot. It's not worth it."

"What an absolute disaster, I will NEVER use Office Depot/Office Max in the future. I'm quickly becoming an Amazon and Staples disciple. Everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. To begin; I ordered a Sauder desk online and was advised of shipment and receipt of the product by Wednesday, July 29th, 2020 between 8:30AM and 5:30PM. I called and scheduled an appointment with your recommended assembler, Apollo for Thursday morning, July 30th, 2020. When it got close to 5:30PM on the 29th I called your customer service department (a false moniker if I ever heard one) and was told delivery would now be at 9PM. No phone call advising me of the delay, no email although you had both as I WAS a Reward member. 9PM rolls around, no delivery, of course, and there wasn’t a phone call or email. So, I call “customer service” again and was promised delivery Thursday morning, July 29th. It begins getting late on Thursday morning and, lo and behold, no delivery, no phone call, no email. So, once again, on the phone and on hold for quite some time. I have now missed TWO DAYS of work as a result of this fiasco of a transaction. Now I’m told it was NOT on the truck and Office Depot/Office Max didn’t know when I would actually receive my, paid for desk. I reschedule Apollo and head to a local Office Depot/Office Max to pickup a replacement desk that they happen to have in stock, 15 minutes from my location. I am told I need to purchase the new desk and that the online discount doesn’t apply; I am also responsible for cancellation of the online order. I call your department that handles cancellations, and refunds and am told that they CANNOT cancel as my desk is out for delivery!!!! Amazing!!! However, I have already purchased the replacement as I have lost all faith in the abilities of Office Depot/Office Max to find their own heads at this juncture. I am told to reject the other desk “when” it arrives. Again, to beat a VERY dead horse, no phone calls, no emails, surprise! So, I get to my location as my online desk is being delivered; I now am the proud owner of two desks, however brief. I reject the order, file a complaint with Office Depot/Office Max and am told I will receive a return call WITHIN 24 hours. Are you prepared by now for this? No phone call, of course. The delivery driver suggests that I call Office Depot/Office Max after ten minutes to verify the rejection and refund. I am told the product is shown as received, not rejected! I am so completely disgusted with this entire purchase and will notify anyone and everyone within earshot, on social media and all available review sites of your absolute disregard for your customers. I am also in the process of exercising whatever remedies are available to me to recover the cost of the desk and the. now three days of lost work. Big box retailers are becoming dinosaurs, if your handling of my problem is indicative of your method of doing business your demise should not be unexpected. "Let me start by saying If I could give them zero stars I WOULD. I have spent the last month being told that I would be receiving a refund for a chair. I ordered this chair then was immediately billed for it on my account. Due to them having "financial issues" they allowed it to expire until they noticed 10 days later. The refund was processed by the representatives who assured me I didn't need to return the chair due to the inconvenience of the two overdraft fees because I didn't realize they refunded me due to being out of town. Then Corporate denies the request the same day I was told that it was approved and to wait 3-5 days. So I called them AGAIN the gal said Corporate will call you and I will send an email to you so you can provide your bank statements. Never received the email or a call. Corporate sent me a generic email showing how uneducated they were about the situation when my bank was charged. I'm apparently a "valued" customer who corporate doesn't care about even though this was something their own representatives said was happening to everyone who made purchases during that time. Never again. Not to mention the first time I ordered from them they cancelled order within an hours time without telling me then held my money up for 5 day. JUST TAKE BACK THE STUPID CHAIR *washes hands*"
"Printer Order on 6/26/20 checked in stock delivery due in 3 days. Then delivery delay till 7/6 then 7/7 then 7/8 then told that it was not in stock. I cancel soon after and was told that refund would be reflected to credit account. Not so, fourteen days later still no $159.00 and no printer. phone and chat Agents were very polite they can only follow co. policy and can't solve this kind of issue. Was told that there is a Office Depot policy of 5 to 7 day wait time for refund. Really, this was not stated when I placed the order what kind of BS is that I give you $$ you give product, simple and vise versa. And if Office Depot is telling me and you differently, then please be careful. I really don't have a beef with this co. I just want a printer or money back. "

"I ordered two desks. Both came damaged, but the damage was not evident until they were almost all put together. They are both damaged visibly. Since it took 4 hours to put them together and you did not see the damage part until you got to the drawers (which do not close) bad design, I asked for a discount credit and I would keep the desks. I sent them pictures of the damage. They got a 20% discount credit approved by manufacturer, but it has been a month and Office Depot will not give me the credit. I paid Office Depot and they should fight for the credit from the manufacturer. They say it is approved, but will not release the credit. How is the manufacturer going to credit me when I paid OFFICE DEPOT. They should take care of me as their customer. I keep getting the run around. They are not interested in customer satisfaction. I've sent 7 emails and keep getting the same answer. They have horrible customer service. Beware!"

"I ordered some printer ink cartridges for my Brother laser printer on-line on 4/20/2020 for store pickup and went to the store on Bandera Rd. & Loop 1604 in San Antonio, Texas to pick up the order several days later. After I entered a very empty store, I searched for someone to help me as the check out registers were vacant and no employees were visible. I went around to the print order pickup window and there was a line of 1 and 1 person being helped. There were 2 employees, but only one was engaging with customers. The other one was busy doing something else. After about 10-12 minutes, a store employee asked me why I was there--and he had to unlock a special cabinet to get the order. Unfortunately one of the 4 printer cartridges was the wrong one (my fault) so I returned it on 5/20/20 because the store was not accepting returns before this. I walked into an empty store, no one at the cash register area and had to wait again in the print order/pickup area. A very unfriendly employee finally helped me after 5 minutes of standing there with no acknowledgement of my presence. I asked if they carried the right one. He did not seem interested in finding out, but after he had already done the return of the cartridge asked one of the other employees if he would go look. The employee went off, came back with the correct one and I asked if it was the same price. It was more expensive so I said I was not going to get it. They both seemed very annoyed about the whole transaction, despite the fact that I was pretty much the only customer left in the store that I could see! I think that I will just do business with Office Depot over the internet and not bother to go to the store because they don't seem to want customers in the store. Never used to be like this in my over 30 years or more of going to the stores."

"Let me start off with this, I fully understand that our world is going through a pendemic, however, the treatement, incompetence and utter disrespect I received while dealing with Office Depot ensured me that I will never order another product from them ever again. My fiance ordered a computer monitor, that was in stock, on April 9th. By April 17th, he still hadn't received a confirmation email of shipping; the order still said in process. He tried to reach out 2 different times via chat, and received no useful information. I then reached out everyday thereafter to talk to someone about the status. In short, each employee told me a different story, lied about when the monitor would be delivered, and everytime I spoke to a "supervisor" or "manager", they would tell me they were sorry and there was nothing else they could do to help.
We've since ordered the SAME monitor from another company and it was delivered to us within 5 days (not business days), just 5 days. Office Depot is a disaster!"
