Years of Great Deals

"I love Vitacost! I have been ordering from them for probably about 10 years. I always wait to get a coupon usually holding out for the 20% off. And it does eventually come! I did have one disappointing experience where I
Put several items in my basket they did apply the discount but it brought me down to lower than $50 so they charged me for shipping.… I was super upset as it canceled out my discount. Yes, I should’ve been paying more attention, but I usually don’t have time to do these orders until very, very late at night and I am exhausted I was was bummed about it and held off on ordering for a while. Just be very careful. They will give you great deals, but they will bounce back up with shipping if you go below 50 bucks.

Why has the quality/service declined?

"I’ve been using Vitacost for years now without issue but in the last few months the service/quality has significantly dropped. Not sure what has happened but it’s as if they’ve been bought out and corners are being cut. Here are a few things that have happened:

1. Orders are not delivered by professional delivery companies anymore (Fedex, UPS, etc), they’re delivered by literally any random stranger with a car (just like Amazon). I’ve received numerous packages where all the contents inside are hot and muggy like it’s been sitting inside someone’s trunk for hours.

2. Not having orders delivered by professional delivery companies also means tracking information is completely vague. You’ll get a tracking number that literally only gives you an “estimated DAY of arrival”. No time updates or estimates or real time tracking. Clear your plans as you’ll be waiting all day for your perishables to be delivered at an undetermined time most likely already perished or virtually microwaved in someone’s trunk. I’ve waited an entire day for food/supplements to arrive just so they wouldn’t be sitting outside in the sun if I wasn’t home.. only to have the contents still baking hot once delivered after being in someone’s trunk all day.

3. If you have the aforementioned types of issues as well, you’ll be happy to know the entire customer service team has now been outsourced so good luck actually being able to accurately converse with someone who understands what the issue is and can speak english.

4. Orders need to be checked on now as I’ve placed orders you’ll be charged for and then nothing sends out. Recently I had placed an order, had the payment confirmation, waited a couple days, but never received an order confirmation from Vitacost. When I reached out to them as to what happened, they said their system never placed the order and I had to place it again even though I had already been charged for it. I had to go back, dispute the charge, place the order again, and lose my discounts. In all my years of ordering, that has never happened even though I’ve used the exact same way to purchase every single time without issue including that time.

5. If your order DOES actually go through, it now takes 2-3 times as long to ship and sometimes you’ll be waiting an entire week just for the order to be processed before even shipping.

Vitacost, ya’ll had a great thing going here but lately it feels like you’re selling out and the drop in quality/service certainly shows that. Stop cutting corners and go back to professional carriers, great customer service, and order punctuality.
