Poor management decisions

"I ordered curtain rods from Wayfair. I did not even receive them yet and the item went on sale. Wayfair refused to credit my account. They said I had to return the item when I receive it and then repurchase it at the sale price. What poor management!! The cost for shipping alone is not cost effective. I waited on the phone for 2 days for over an hour without satisfaction. I never had this problem with Amazon,Ebay or any other reputable company. Stay away from Wayfair. Find your item on another website. Poor management from top executives to customer service."

Truly a horrible company in every possible way

"Worked here for a short time. Very bad management. Terminal and warehouse managers want people to know THEY are in charge, do exactly what they say, without question.

Warehouse staff has a very high turnover. People are fired every week. Terminal manager Brian McConnell was passive aggressive and regularly had people fired for anything he desired.

We had a warehouse training manager who was very verbally abusive to the workers. He would constantly yell and scream at them. Nobody could make him happy. I remember one worker was tired of the abuse and stood up to him. He didn't want to fight, but he made it clear he had enough. The training manager said good, tell me if there is a problem. Within a few days the worker was fired because he stood up for himself. That is exactly what this company is like. Those who don't take abuse WILL be terminated.

IT manager Brad Hicks was frankly incompetent at his job. Often could not answer simple questions from his team, yet expected his direct reports to provide answers. Weekly coaching sessions were completely unnecessary. Formed all his decisions based on what his employees said, with no first hand knowledge.

Something I noticed in my short time working there is the managers really prefer people kissing up to them. They want strictly obedient employees. Anybody who is not subservient is usually terminated. Coworker named Rob Moore (based in Denver) fit the profile perfectly. He was a regular employee, but expected others to treat him as a supervisor, answer to him, and was very passive aggressive to those who didn't. His business profile now shows manager. His manipulating personality helped get him promoted.

As for customer service, if your furniture arrives broken, all they will do is offer a discount or refund, and make no other effort. If a customer threatens to leave, call center employees basically say sorry, go somewhere else. They really don't care. If this is how they treat a customer who is paying them, imagine how horrible employees are treated.

Please keep all of this in mind if you choose to order from this place. Do you want to support a company that rewards abuse and terminates those unwilling to put up with it?

Refused to either give my refund or send me the product.

"I ordered a vanity for my bath, delivered damaged. Second order was shipped over one month and a half. Wayfair cannot find my order. They keep saying someone will be contacting you within 24 hours after we find your order! After being put on hold every time i call for over fours hours and then told this would not make anyone a happy camper. How can i get my money back. How can they continue to put me on hold. Will not give me an order # for the replacement order."

BUYER BEWARE

"I purchased a bench for 850 dollars . A few days later I saw it was on sale reduced 135 dollars . Since it had not yet been shipped out , I contacted Wayfair hoping for a price adjustment . I waited on hold for over 2 hours and was told there was nothing they could do . I suggested I cancel my order and re buy it . They told me there would be a cancellation fee and a return shipping fee . They are definitely not a honourable , reputable company . I will NEVER order from them again . Think before ordering from this un reputable company with VERY poor customer service ! "

The worst customer service

"I ordered a patio furniture set on May 10th and still haven’t received it. I’ve called twice now. The first time I waited 3 hours on hold to be told I would get a response by the end of the day 5 days later. I never heard from anyone. I called back and waited on hold for 45 minutes on a Thursday. I was told I would revive a call on Sunday, which never happened. I’m cancelling my order today and will never order from this company again!"

Disappointed...

"What a disappointment, horrible customer service. On hold for 2.5 hours, dead serious, to a call back from someone that was clueless. Wayfair missed my delivery date, lost my furniture, and needed for an event. They can’t tell me where my product is or when I’ll get it. Money just thrown away, this why we should by local. "

Disappointed

"I ordered a living room set and dinning room set a month ago. I got confirmation emails for both sets that I ordered with the date that they should arrive. A few days later I received a text saying that both orders were ready to be shipped. A few days after that I received another text saying that the orders had been shipped. When I selected the link it only showed the couch had been shipped. I called to make sure that the rest of my three piece living room set would be shipped shortly after. After being on hold for forty five minutes I talked to a very nice lady that informed me that the set was discontinued and the warehouse just sent me what they had. No one called or emailed me to ask if I wanted to proceed with my order even though they did not have all of the items that I paid for. I was then told that I had to wait two weeks, when the couch would arrive at my house and reject the package, and then wait three to five business days in order to receive my refund. We did just that and that was on the 19th of June. I called today to find out what was taking so long. After holding for thirty minutes this time I was then told that they messed up again and had to manually approve my refund. So now I have to wait another three to five business days to get my refund. Also when I opened my dining room table there was a huge gash in the middle of it and I had to wait for them to send me a new table to replace the broken one. This is unacceptable. They sent me a 10% off my next purchase coupon. I honestly do not feel like that was an appropriate offer. So now I have no living room set and still no refund to go get a new one."

Had to File Chargeback to get refund back

"I ordered 4 pendant lights form Wayfair. They ended up shipping only one. They kept stating the others would ship, but when it appeared that wasn't going to happen after one missed date after another, I cancelled the order and shipped the one back. I received a partial refund for the one I sent back, but kept getting strung along on the remaining portion they never even sent out. Had to eventually file a charge back with my credit card company. For all those in similar shoes, do a charge back on your card. It may be the only way you'll get your money back."

Wayfair.com Nightmare

"I ordered a dining set from Wayfair.com and they sent me a shipping confirmation for the table that had a fake (none working) tracking number which made me look into the item in my Wayfair account, the message for the table showed the Item as "out of stock and unable to tell when the table would ship" however Wayfair still shipped the chairs and when I tried to call their customer service three separate times with the intention to request the order to be filled when all item were in stock, I ended up sitting on hold for a total of 4hr and never reached Wayfair customer service. As a result I decline the chairs delivery through FedEx BUT Wayfair reply in my account was to change the status of my WHOLE ORDER (including the table WITH THE FAKE TRACKING #) as delivered.

I was forced to open a case with my bank... SAVE YOURSELF A LOT OF TROUBLE AND AVOID THIS COMPANY.

They tell you the sales items are out of stock

"I wanted to order a Pittard End Table that was on "sale", but the item came up as "out of stock" on a Monday at 10 pm EST. I asked for a notification when it was in stock, but at 7:30 am EST the very next morning (yes less than 9 hours later) the product was listed in stock, just not on sale any longer.
When I called the customer service # the representative indicated that perhaps stock came in earlier than expected but they could not meet price from the sale.
This was my first experience with this site and very bad taste around the integrity of their site, but also the customer service... Would never buy from this site.

Futon matress

"I received a futon matress. I opened it up and it smelled like bug spray..wayfair told me it had to b aired out for 3 days. Meanwhile I was smelling bug spray thru the house. I hope I dont get sick. Calling them back again."
