"I purchased a security system that didn't work even with tech help and not under the circumstances that I needed after much explaining to the person selling it to me. I called to get an RMA number and was told to put a paper with the pertanant info on it inside the box and write the RMA number on the outside of the box. I did all that and it was refused and returned to me and I had to pay for shipping going and coming. On the 27th I called and spoke to Marcus and he spoke to the manager Tony who said they were emailing me a shipping label and Tony was checking into reimbursing me for the shipping charges I had. I was not able to access thee label and Fed-Ex said they had no record of the label. On the 27th I spoke to Steve and he said Tony wasn't there and a shipping label couldn't be mailed to me and Tony was going to call or try and fix the problem. I called back again on the 27th and Steve never entered anything in the computer according to Gerganna. She spoke to a superviser and she told me a label was being mailed to me.
I called again on the 29th and Dannette said they would have to resend the label and she was talking to a superviser. I couldn't talk to one because it was to early on the west coast and they weren't in yet but would have one call. Never happened. I spoke to Antonio on the 16th who was going to give it to Jessie and send me another label. Never happened. On the 19th I sent Jeff in PR an email detailing the trouble I was having and resent it yesterday to him and still haven't received a response. I called again yesterday and spoke to Katie and not only did she send me another shipping label but she gave me her direct number so if I had a problem I could call her directly. She told me how long it would take to get the label and if I had any trouble to call her back. She then called me back to see if I had gotten it. It's too bad you can't clone her. You might want to get her to teach other people about customer service. After all the hold time and the horrible experience I have had with this company I would never recommend it to any one else although it came highly recommended to me. I think I read some place you were in financial trouble and if so I see why. You should start from the ground up with your customer service people. Katie solved a problem, that should have been solved a month and many phone calls ago, with very little effort. My hat is off to Katie.

"I ordered a home security system from X10 to expand my existing system of X10 home automation devices and cameras. It shipped the day after I ordered it (I ordered the previous day), and works great. The free shipping really sweetens the deal. Recently, I decided to install the last door/window sensor in my kit, but discovered that the packager had mistakenly included an optional accessory that resembles, but does not replace, the window-mounted magnet. I emailed X10, and Sara Ferong ordered me a free replacement magnet within two days. Great service!
I have ordered several items from X10 directly, and have also purchased brand new X10 equipment from both homesecurityandautomation.com and the eBay seller digitronex. I am including this information to explain the price rating I gave X10, since it is more complex than a simple number. :-) On their special packages, their prices can't be beat, especially if you qualify for free shipping, which is usually the case. That's where the number came from. However, I would never purchase an individual item from their site, since the prices are hugely inflated compared to what you will pay if you buy the same item from one of the sources I mentioned above. Although, X10's support is likely superior to that of the other sources.
Also, I wish they would make an adult-grade website and stop sending member newsletters screaming "LAST DAY!!!!!!" every day on sales that have lasted a week!"
"I placed and order with X10 on 10/24/05, the customer rep was Tyson Allen. Mr. Allen was very helpfull with his knowledge about the X10 products and he made some really great suggestions about the equipment that he felt would do the job. I was very impressed with the fact that he did not high pressure me to buy things that I probably did not need. Now a days that is very unusual. I was plesently shocked when my package showed up at my door this morning the 26th. So at this time I am having fun setting up our wireless security system. In fact I had it all up and working in about an hour. X10 has some really neat stuff, I have been using their products for many years and will continue to do so.

"Very disappointing service. I was leaving town so I wanted to install X-10 automation equipment so my home would look lived in while gone for 2 weeks.
I ordered the equipment on Friday, paid an extra $35 for “overnight service” and was assured it would ship the following Monday, and arrive at my home Tuesday before 3PM. I was leaving Tuesday evening so this would work out perfect.
Perfect that is but for the fact they didn’t bother to ship it until Tuesday, 5 DAYS AFTER I ORDERED IT !!! (some $35 overnight service)
