"Ordered Canon G3 in March. Had to call to confirm my order. I know that as a trick to push overpriced accessories and extended warranty.
In fact, salesperson did offered them, but to my surprise he was not pushing and accessories price he offered was well below their official web price. I was planning to buy some stuff anyway, so I ordered Advanced Accessory Kit. Shipping was fast, but my accessory kit was not quite correct; I had to send one item back. Salesperson promptly resolved the issue and sent correct items via FedEx at no additional charge. I see it as a minor issue though considering the price and promptness of the service.

Bottom line: I have top of the line product for the price of previous geration model. Oh, yes, they encourage customers to provide reviews. But I do not see here a problem as long as you write truth: most people including myself never write reviews, so you would never read this one if I was not specifically asked for."

I located Dbuys through CNET. Due to Dbuy’s 3-star rating w/ CNET, this made using Dbuys a favorable choice.

I do not make a lot of online purchases, but the majority is electronic hardware. What I look for w/ a online store, is if they are rated w/ CNET, what the companies return policies are, how the company is rated w/ CNET and BizRate, and how their pricing compares w/ other online stores.

Online product information through Dbuys is accurate and helpful in addition to accessory listings. As a suggestion Canon’s web page offers PDF catalog pages of their cameras, this would be a nice additional option to Dbuys for customers (do not know if there are copy-right issues associated w/ this suggestion).

The purchase arrived on time and packaging was in excellent condition (no in-transit distress to the packaging). The products received were packaged well.

Overall, I am very pleased w/ my purchase. However, I did allot of research prior to making this purchase. It is this research which supplements the overall satisfaction of this purchase. The research consists of reading online reviews and discussing w/ piers.

I did not initially make the purchase of the extended warranty w/ Dbuys due to the listed price. If one goes to http://www.mackcam.com/ , one can get an entire listing of online companies offering Mack extended warranty plans. Dbuys did not offer the most competitive price on this item. It was not until the sales rep made contact with me to verify my order that the extended warranty was purchased for a more reasonable cost.

I was a little hesitant after the sales rep contacted me and agreed to provide me a more reasonable cost for the extended warranty, there was no formal confirmation on the agreed to price. I did not receive this confirmation until I issued an email to Dbuys requesting a purchase receipt. This was then verified through tracking my online order status. As a suggestion, a little more customer service would be helpful.
