"i've never had a problem with deep discount dvd. their customer service was prompt with their email and shipping was free. can't complain about that or their prices. popular on the anandtech, fatwallet, and dvdtalk forums for cheap dvds. that says a lot because everyone on those forums are going for the best deal at the most reputable vendors."

"I am very unhappy with this website. I purchased a CD for my son on Jan. 25th. for Valentines Day. He really wanted this particular CD. I thought three weeks was enought time to get it shipped in time for Valentine's Day. Two days after I placed my purchase I went back to the site to check the status of my order and found out the CD I ordered was out of stock and on back order. There was no notification on the item's description page that it was out of stock, nor were there any indications of such throughout the checkout process. If I had known that the CD was out of stock I would have either chosen something different or gone to another site. I kept checking the order status every few days to see if the CD had been re-stocked, but evertime I went they moved my ship date back. The CD finally shipped today (Feb. 11) and there is no way my son will get it in time for Valentine's Day. I emailed the company explaining how upset I was that I was sold an item that they didn'thave and that it would arrive in time for Valentines Day. I got back two automative emails with no explination or appologies to make me feel like a real human even glanced at what I had sent. I feel like I was "tricked" into buying something under false pretenses. There needs to be clear information on the item's description page and throughout the checkout process to inform customers on the status of the products they are selling. I would have rather paid twice as much for a CD and shipping if I can get it in a timely manner and know what I'm getting myself into ahead of time. I will not be purchasing anything from this website again. "

"I placed an order with these guys that they claimed to have shipped on Jan 18, saying 5 to 10 day delivery. Two weeks later, nothing had arrived. I contacted them asking what was going on and requesting that they either give me a tracking number so that I could verify the package was actually shipped or give me a refund. They refused to do either and said wait another week. I did, still nothing. I contacted them again and demanded a refund. They ignored me. I finally had to dispute the charge through my credit card company to get my money back."

"Ordered CD from "In Stock" item. Right after, I received email saying item is not in stock and I must wait. More than a month after ordering I received another email saying my order has been cancelled. No mention of returning my money and as of yet no response to my email for clarification. "I’ve ordered from DDD twice. Generally, prices are better than average and shipping is free. Items are shipped via USPS media mail so you usually get your DVD’s in about a week. The DDD site was extremely slow during the holiday season’s 20% off promotion, to the point their system was overloaded and orders would not go through. Diligence was necessary to finally place an order. At any other time, their system seemed to operate okay. Highly recommended."

"I ordered two copies of DVD that was on backorder. After a week I emailed them to ask when it would be available, they wrote back to say that it would probably ship around the 18th. It's now the 30th and I haven't heard from them, so I went back to their website and found that my order had been canceled. They didn't email me or call me to let me know that my order was being voided. I partially understand if they have to cancel an order due to availability issues, but there's no excuse for not informing your customer of their status.

I would be wary of buying things from them in the future... especially so if the items are on backorder, regardless of what their email customer service tells you.

"On Nov. 15th, 2004 I've place my order with Deep Discount DVD.
On Nov. 18th I received an e-mail confirming that my items were shipped and they would arrive on 2-5 working days.
Nov.29th, I called Customer Service and I was told to wait and, if in a week I receive nothing to call again and Deep Discount DVD will ship the items again.
Today, Dec. the 6th after calling Customer Service once more I was told to wait till Dec 16th.

Now I really don’t know whether I am the victim of a scam or this company will indeed deliver my order.

"You people never cease to amaze me! My order was placed on 11/20/04 (you say 11/21/04) we'll go with yours! It took you guys today 11/29/04 8days to "ship", according to "Brenda",but when I called yesterday"that person" said it was shipped a few days ago?You guys lie to customers and "trick" people into thinking you have items :in stock" when in fact they are "back ordered"or "OUT

OF STOCK"(only one was reflected BACK ORDERED ON MY ORDER, ONE ITEM WAS OUT OF STOCK"cat's eye" ) I can accept the real status instead of "IN PROCESS",as stated by "Brenda" several items were out of stock! I asked to speak to a superviser,she said everyone is busy,they'll call you later! You people have sent 3 day shipping orders eight days later(I paid extra) lost a movie,now this!You people never apologize,compensate,or for that matter offer any compensations for my trouble,you people refuse to use a clear tape or laminated labels, as I had suggested before(that's how my 3day order got LOST, my name and address was worn off from shipping from one end to the other,they had to use the barcode to pencil in my name&address when I got it,it was hand written in!)Thank you (again) for a big let down.Maybe it'll arrive before it's a Turner Classic! "Update:
On 12/02/04 sent email requesting info on order,
why was I being overcharged, why are your reps liars and why is it tolerated by your company, why am I being forced to wait on something everybody else has in stock and that I wanted this order cancelled. On 12/05/04 I received a reply, the only thing it said was I received a price adjustment of -6.95, cause that was the new price on their website. None of the issues were addressed. Checking website, my order now reads
completed, yet I never received shipping notification and as of 12/09/04 have never received this product, released on 11/30 and still
no product. These morons are extended so far beyond their meager capabilities its pathetic. Buy elsewhere.
End Update
Preordered Spider-Man2 (Superbit) and Lost in Space S2V2. Got shipping notification on Lost in Space, no mention of Spider-Man2. Website indicated Spider-Man2 was on backorder, a brand new release that everybody else on the planet has. You never get a notification of backorder problems, just hurry up and wait. Called the online order status, indicated it would ship on 12/16/04, wow, three weeks after it was available. Called to cancel, waited 30 mintues for an english-challenged rep. Wouldn't cancel. Said it was being processed today. Questioned why the online order status said it would ship on 12/16/04. Didn't know, just claimed it was in process already and couldn't be cancelled. Questioned her why was I being charged 22.49 when the website listed it for 19.14. Said to send email to change. If you read previous buyers experiences, you know that getting these people to change or do a price match is not going to happen. What craptastic customer service, their
satisfaction guaranteed and price matching are a joke. And why anybody thinks this place has low prices is unbelievable, every new release can be had cheaper at BB or CC. I.E., Spider-Man2 (Superbit) is 17.99 at BB and instock, actually available when its suppose to be. The ONLY savings to had at this place are on boxed sets, sometimes.
Expedited shipping,an extra 4.95, 3-5 days, right, my last order took 9 days for instock items. On my previous two orders I got notification that they had been shipped via UPS and provided tracking numbers. Unfortunately the tracking numbers didn't even meet UPS criteria, they were invalid and couldn't be tracked. They eventually showed up and had been shipped via the postal service. These people don't even know how something got shipped,
lie about it, provide invalid tracking numbers and
there is no way to verify via the website, no shipping info is available. And how about that site security, on a number of occasions you would get on their site and be logged on to someone elses account, allowing you to view and modify their acccount data. I guess they're into identity theft. This place has gone way downhill and embraces imcompetence with open arms. Do yourself a favor and get product somewhere else.

"Although they had a great price and shipped promptly, they also gave my CC# to a service called "Deepdiscount.com" which bills $9 per month for a "membership" to a service which I never herd of and don't want. If you order from them be careful not to accidentally sign up for this service!"

"Its hard to beat their prices. My order shipped right away, though shipping did take a while. HEy it was free I can complain :). I reccommend this place!

EDIT: beware! don't sign up for that bonus awards thing like the person above me mentioned!! They charged my Credit Card $9, but luckily I caught it right away. I got them to cancelled it, and they credited me back the money right away
