"I pre-ordered a DVD from Deep Discount at the end of March. The DVD wasn't to be released until May 11. I got my email around then saying it has shipped and my cc was charged. I wait 3 weeks and don't get my package. I emailed them and they say they will ship again. 3 weeks later, I still don't see it. I'd call this place a SCAM. What the heck takes 2 or 3 weeks to ship these days? That's rediculous."
"I have purchased DVDs before from Deep Discount DVD without issue. Last December I ordered a box set, and at first it was backordered, but at some point it supposedly shipped, and was swallowed up by the mail.
I found out it was shipped when I called to cancel the order, figuring I'd waited long enough.
Their answer to me, once they realized my order was lost?
"Do you want to buy another one? Why else are you bothering us?"
I just lost $70 and they wanted to play double or nothing with me. I asked for any information they might have had about their shipment, and they said they have none. So they ship without tracking, insurance, if they do at all.
I'm just one of many people they've scammed.
Think carefully before you 'save' that couple of dollars by ordering from them."
"What should have been a simple, straight-forward routine turned into one huge disappointment. DDD is OK when your orders go smoothly, but DON'T count on them when things go wrong!!!
I placed a CANCEL on a recent order since it had not been processed/shipped yet, and received an email confirmation right away verifying my cancellation. Expecting it to be cancelled as indicated, I order elsewhere for a better deal. Well, 2 DAYS LATER, I receive another email from DDD showing that my order WAS SHIPPED?!? Bewildered and upset, I emailed DDD immediately inquiring why they had still shipped it when a cancellation had been acknowledged and accepted. 2 WEEKS LATER, and one day after I receive the DVD, they reply that they could not cancel the order (duh!) and I should send it back (at my costs) for a refund (no RMA #). Too familiar with this RMA "service," I decided to forgo the "where's my refund?" headache and chalk it up as a learning experience."
"I have purchased DVD's from DeepDiscount on a couple occasions previously with no problems, but this time I was disappointed with the transaction.
After I placed an order for 2 items and received an email confirmation, I got a 2nd email confirmation (which includes the Order #) that inexplicably added a 3rd DVD to my order. I immediately emailed DDD about this problem, but they said my only recourse was to send back the extra DVD because the order has already been released for shipping. While they did promptly send me a letter with a shipping label to mail them back the extra item, this does present an extra hassle I'd rather not have to deal with in the first place. Furthermore, I am quite annoyed that they did not catch the discrepancy between my order total as shown on my account page and in the first email confirmation, and what I was actually charged. Finally, when my order did arrive, I noticed that one of the DVD boxes was slightly bent (although the DVD inside was not damaged), while the corners of a cardboard box of a DVD box set were bent as well. With the options of other online retailers with similar prices (and ones with which I have not had such problems), it's unlikely I will order from DDD again."

4-30 Received DVD. Nicely packaged. However, the DVD was loose in the case, so when it was opened, the DVD has several scratches.
I'm not sure why it took almost 3 weeks to receive the DVD when the last order arrived in only 10 days. I also am very disappointed that the DVD was poorly packaged and received scratched.

When I asked for an anticipated dated when my backorder would be filled after 1.5 months of waiting, they cancelled the order and stated that the cancellation was at my request.
I made no such request but it took the burden off of them to behave with proper customer service acumen."
"I am a regular customer of deepdiscountdvd.com because they are an excellent company. I have probably placed close to 50 orders with them in the past couple years. I always use the free shipping option and generally receive my items within a couple of weeks. The wide selection is awesome and the site is easy to navigate. Of course the excellent value is what keeps me coming back, LOW LOW prices w/ free shipping is the bottom line. I have had a couple of issue lost delivery and a defective product and althought it took several weeks to rectify both situations were fixed to my satisfaction. The customer service I received during those issue's was very competent. One thing to keep in mind if you order is that they do often have situation's were products are backordered, check back to the website the predictions for ship date are generally very accurate. Allow 2 weeks for the free shipping as it is via Media mail.

"I ordered three DVDs from DeepDiscountDVD.com on November 28th, 2003 and encountered numerous incidents of ineptitude with this company.
First, they shipped out two of the three DVDs. That's OK, except that they then sent me an e-mail to let me know that they were going to charge me about four extra dollars for the third DVD since the price had gone up. After e-mailing them _five_ times that such an action was unacceptable (as they needed to honor the price that they had quoted me when I ordered), they relented and sent me the third DVD separately.
When I opened up this third DVD, I noticed that the DVD has two disc two's and no disc one. I immediately contacted them for an RMA for an exchange which took about four pieces of e-mail to obtain. Incredibly enough, the RMA took about three weeks to arrive. Does putting a piece of paper into an envelope and sending it via first class mail really take that long?
I sent in the DVD as instructed with a very explicit letter enclosed that the DVD has two disc two's and one disc one and that I wish for an exchange. Now, FOUR months after my original order and about a full month after I sent in the RMA, they send me a piece of e-mail telling me that my "order was cancelled because we were unable to obtain an authorization from our charge card center." What the heck?
I have sent their Customer "Service" department a piece of e-mail asking where my exchange was, but they haven't responded yet.
I think that DeepDiscountDVD.com does have some really good prices and that, if you're lucky, your order will get shipped and there won't be anything wrong.
But, be warned that if there's anything at all wrong with your order, you'll be sincerely regretting yor purchase from this company.
Stay away from this company! Spend an extra dollar or two to ensure you won't be getting the experience of exceptionally bad customer service."
"i ordered from this company on 1-12-04. the two dvd's i ordered was on back order. saying that it will be shipped by 1-24-04. 2 weeks later i got a emial saying it was shipped on 1-28-04. it is now 2-12-04. my first dvd came. it is in great shape. but the delievery and waiting time is forever. almost 90 percent of the dvd's on thier website is on backorder. only there new releases is avalible. the ironic part about this company is that their new releases are more expensive than if you were to just buy from a local store. their older dvds are extremely cheap, however the wait time is about a month. so if you like waiting a month to get your order, or if you like to spend more money on new releases then buy from this company. but i wonder, what kind of bussiness is this company trying to run, when most of their customers has to wait a month for delievery. if they only keep a larger inventory and not depend on backorders they will have much more bussiness."

I was informed that Terminator 3 was shipped on 18 November 2003 and Finding Nemo on 26 November 2003. I didn't receive either of the DVD's, and got no reply to my e-mail enquiring about them.
