"After all the hype and commercials, decided to give this new way to shop a try-totally disappointed....ordered 8 things-3 of them got cancelled because the said they couldn't fulfill them at this time....said I would get my ordered things in 1-2 business days...two of the items have still not arrived and we are going on over a week.....they ship each thing individually and charge it to you account individually-very difficult to keep track of what is being shipped and what you are paying for.....never ordering from them again-total waste of time...as I told the CSR, I ordered the stuff because I needed it not because I wanted it-now I still have to go out and shop for these items...."
"I have been a long standing customer of Amazon. However, I gave Jet.com a try to order "Kwik Goal Soccer Coaching Sticks, Yellow". The order was filled to precision, the costs were lower than in amazon. Given the experience (albeit, not always I find the item), I continue to buy in jet.com when possible. My last purchased item was "Nature's Best Isopure Protein Powder Zero Carb Creamy Vanilla" which I bought at $10 less than in Amazon (a 10% discount and free shipping).
One of the challenges that I found at least when I made my first purchase was the item list and some glitches in their delivery (yes, quite annoying). However, since then, I can say that it has improved dramatically!"
"We tried Jet exactly once. Ordered item, received email confirmation, all seemed OK. Then I was looking at my credit card statement and the amount actually charged was more than the amount quoted or in the emailed confirmation.
Called and got some song-and-dance about how the "seller may have tax liabilities". Well, that's all well and good, but where I come from, selling something for one price and charging more has another name -- FRAUD.
To Jet's credit, they made good on the difference. But given the minimal savings over Amazon, and the time spent straightening this out, it's not difficult to see why we said "Never again".
I tried contacting Jet on Twitter; got a response via PM, but they were unable to come up with any reason why it should be acceptable to charge more than the invoice."
"I ordered a power supply for my PC and was shipped a USB HDD dock. Normally I would not mind, but I was NOT offered the correct product, nor offered an instant refund for the inconvenience. Instead, they told me to ship the item back and wait up to 10 days after receiving the item for refund. Now I am out of the product, as well as my money for anywhere up to a month. It has already been 2 weeks since I first ordered it and still nothing. A follow-up email with the company resulted in them telling me to keep waiting for the refund. Will never purchase from them again."
"I placed an order and then realized I had put in an old shipping address. When I called Jet.com, the recording said that I can cancel an order placed within the last 30 minutes by going to the Order History. I went to the Order History and did not find an option to cancel the order.
I called Jet.com again and this time waited to speak to a representative. By now it was 25 minutes after placing the order and receiving the confirmation email. I was told by the representative that it is too late to cancel the order and that there is nothing they can do.
Jet.com's system does not work to be able to cancel an order within 30 minutes of placing it and their system is so inept that they cannot do anything 30 minutes after an order is placed to cancel it or change the shipping address."
"I have returned an item on 12th December-2015 which was damaged during shipping but till today i.e 6th Feb-2016 money ($152) has not been refunded to account. I spoke with several customer care representatives but every time I have been told that refund will take place in 2-3 days. I have lost the hope of getting the money back. "No big fuss about it. Got a great deal compared to amazon and other sites. $90 vs $130 other places. It came without issues. Didn't need to return so I wouldn't know how that process would go. "I had placed my first order with jet.com, and after having such an awful experience I am never going to shop at Jet.com again!
I placed an order for two items with an expected delivery date of 2-5 days. Since I am in the north east, and jet.com is in NY I figured it would be on the lower end of that range. I got the first item in 2 days, great. After the 3rd day the 2nd item still did not ship. I called for a status asking when it would ship, and they said well the seller was unable to complete the order. I said what do you mean, I bought it from jet.com. They said well jet.com doesn't actually sell and ship anything, they use other sellers, and that seller for my item was unable to fulfill the order and that the order was canceled. I asked why after 3 business days I was never told. They said I should receive something soon.
So I then order the item from another place that could guarantee faster shipping them jet.com. Then I just happen to see another email from jet.com (now a week later) stating they are still trying to fulfill my order. I called and asked why they were still trying to process a canceled order, and they told me it was not canceled (even though when I called a few days earlier they told me the order was canceled). After fighting with them over the phone, and being put on hold for several long periods I was finally able to get them to cancel the order, however they wanted to take away my promo discount that was applied to the order. Only after I threatened to dispute the charge with my credit card company did they allow it to be applied.
Whenever you call their customer service you have to hold for several long periods of time. They couldn't seem to even tell me how much I was going to be charged, its like their customer service didn't even have access to their billing information.
They claim they are an Amazon killer, however I do not see that. Their prices track exactly with Amazon, when theirs goes up so does jet.com's, and when Amazon's go down, so do jet.com's so there is no advantage to going with jet.com."
"Ordered a TV for my daughter's 21st birthday (50" flat screen) as a surprise. I ordered it on 1/28/16 with confirmation that the delivery would be no later than 3-5 business days. On the sixth day, 2/4, I called to find out the whereabouts of the tv only to be told it would not deliver until 2/16! Literally 3 weeks after I ordered it. Totally unacceptable. You would think they can give you a estimate with in reason when ordering that is in the ballpark of the original date. But to tell me that its going to deliver 12 days after the original date, due to weather is ridiculous! I can understand a day or two, but 12 days! I can drive there and back in way less time. Do not order from this company if time is in anyway an issue!"
"I know people are more motivated to write when they are disgruntled. So am I. This time, despite all negative rebiews, I decided to give it a try. My order (a can of olive oil) arrived promptly, the price was by far the best, so overall it was a very pleasant experience. Judging by other reviews, if something WOULD have gone wrong, I'd have a heck of a time to correct that. But this time everything was right. "
"I have given Jet.com enough chances and they are AWFUL! First, I ordered an item, and when I received it, it was the wrong size. They ordered me the item again. Again...the wrong size. I received a full refund (after threatening fraud) and reporting them to the BBB. They also gave me a $30 credit. I gave them one final shot! I placed my order, and used my credit. My order total was $0.19. I put it on my debit card. When I checked my checking account, I found out that Jet.com authorized my card for the FULL AMOUNT of the order...$30.88. THEY FAILED TO USE THE CREDIT. Now, I get nothing but excuses from them and their unethical billing practices! I was told that it was just their "business model" and other businesses do that. NOT any one that I have done business with! Long story short...instead of authorizing the $0.19, I now have over $30 missing from my checking account, that I have to wait 3-5 business days, for it to be returned to my available balance.
I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN! "
"Jet has become my preferred online retailer due to price competitiveness. The website experience is different, and it can be time-consuming to find savings on your order, but it has been a good experience overall. Seems that people complaining don't have experience with the hassles of small online retailers, or of course ebay; jet is smoother than these, but it's true it will never be as easy as Amazon, which unfortunately has been losing its focus on low prices. "I usually avoid merchants that have so many negative reviews, but I was only ordering a single item and thought that they could not screw that up too badly. Wow, was I ever wrong. I ordered a high quality desktop power supply that Jet had advertised for an incredibly low price. First, the item price increased while it was actually in my shopping cart. But Jet offered a first-time buyer coupon code, so even with the price increase, the power supply was still a decent price. Hence, I ordered it anyhow. Instead of the power supply that I had ordered, Jet shipped me a replacement battery for a laptop computer. WOW, not even close! Customer service was friendly and emailed me a pre-paid FedEx return label. However, it was not for good for home pick-up, so I have to re-pack and return the item to a FedEx store. Finally, I was told Jet would not get the power supply that I had ordered back in stock, so I was just out of luck. Also, I would not receive a refund on my original item for up to two weeks after their mistake was returned. I guess I placed two orders with them at simultaneously. My first and my LAST!"
"After reading reviews of Jet.com, I went in to my purchase cautiously optimistic. Since Jet shows you who will be fulfilling your order and expected delivery prior to finalizing your order, I took the time to read online reviews for each before placing the order. Since each of the vendors was rated highly I completed my order. Communication on shipping was excellent. Two of the packages were delivered Tues on an order placed late Friday night. The other was delivered Friday. All we packaged well and were as expected. I will use Jet again in the future if the occasion arrives, but again will do my homework before finalizing the order. "
"I am a seasoned online seller with over 15 years of experience selling on sites like Amazon. When I first heard about Jet I, like many others, was very excited. The promise of another marketplace that might be able to go toe to toe with Amazon was very exciting. I currently sell over a million dollars a month on Amazon.com, and another 200-300k on sites like Rakuten.com and Newegg.com. Jet however seems to be trying to change the entire marketplace game. The first strange thing I encountered was that there is no GUI to upload and manage your products and sales. Everything is done programically which can be a big problem for many companies. If you are not efficient in XML and PHP you will have to hire a developer just to get set up on the marketplace. If this isn't enough to scare you away be aware. Support is stretched way too thin. Although everyone seems pleasant on the phone simple tasks that should only take an hour may take a week to answer or look into. Data quality is also horrible. All products are matched by MPN and UPC. However, most products listed on Jet.com have the incorrect UPC. This causes prices for one product to get linked to another. Thus, sellers either over price their items and they never sell OR they sell their products too cheap and loose money. I brought this to Jet.com's attention over a 6 weeks ago. I was told then that they would go though my catalog of only 215 items and correct the UPC's. They seemed to acknowledge the issue and I thought the issue would be resolved in a couple of days. Since then weeks have passed and when I ask for an update Jet support refuses to tell me anything other then its going to take a long time to go though each listing. They wont tell us if they have checked 1, 2, 10 ,100 products and refuse to give any kind of ETA. "
