"I cancelled the order straight away. They (illegally) still took my money out and said that I won't get my refund until 30 days - even though the law (Distance Selling Regulations) specifically says that refunds must be done as soon as possible (yes, the maximum time is 30 days, but the DSRs specifically state it should be done as soon as possible - a matter of a couple of clicks for a site like WAE+.

I would avoid a site which doesn't comply to the law.

Edit: Due to WAE+'s response:

Fair enough about taking the money. The Terms & Conditions and order email stare that "The contract is not complete until a dispatch email is sent" which in the vast majority of cases means that the money is not taken out until you have marked it as dispatched.

However, you are still disobeying the Distance Selling Regulations by keeping the money for 30 days.

"I rarely write reviews as thankfully my experience of online shopping has generally been good, but in this instance I felt compelled to write something - THIS COMPANY IS TERRIBLE - IGNORE THEM LIKE THE PLAGUE.

I was looking to order a Wacom Bamboo & Stylus from them and given that the price was the best I thought I'd give WAE+ a go - what a mistake. The order said on time for next day delivery and so I expected it the next day. Wrong, the items wasn't due for about a month. I emailed them to complain and basically they said to get it quicker (despite showing next day delivery) that I would have to pay an extra £7.00. - I reluctantly opted to wait On coming round for the last delivery day I contacted them to ask where the product was. It was out of stock and not available for another 20 day!. So I emailed customer support about 5 times asking for a full refund with absolutely no response. Today I called them no response... then called again and finally spoke to someone. The order was cancelled but the refund period was thirty days - why when online refunds can be processed immediately?

Please don't make the same mistake as me and steer clear of this terrible company. Complete cowboys. Just shows not to always shop on price!

"Dreadful company nice polite staff that can't do anything to help because of rubbish systems and awful management proceedures that are very anti customer.

Purchased item on their website with a get this tomorrow promise date went all the way through the purchase procedure "Delivery Free!" was the only option available great.

But no this mean't I had to phone up and upgrade to 24hr delivery for another £11. 3 working days later nothing has arrived so had to cancel at which point I was told our T&C's mean you dont get your money back for 31 days!!!

"Everyone loves a good rant. I need to let off some steam. I have looked at all these reviews with horror and disbelif to see how bad everything can really get and my god is this bad.

WAE+ is a strange company, I mean why would any company go out of their way to take a long time to refund. They make it apparent from the get go that they will keep your money for as long as possible. What are they doing with it?!

I bought a ASUS XENSE due to the great prices, however in 30 minutues after reading the disapointment with lead times I canceled my order and asked for a refund.

I dont wish this on anyone, it is almost as if you are getting responces from a computer. It's been 20 days now and im not even sure if they even want to give me the money back. 30 days is your policy, but for the sake of basic customer service you cant hide behind that.

"If you want to lose your money then go to WAE+. They will take your money and not delivered the good. I ordered a printer and took my money from the credit card and never delivered. I chased them so many times no answer. They do not answer there phones and ask you to use their so called fast service, which they do not respond. Finally I had to get my money back through the credit card service under the dispute scheme. This is one useless company that I would not recommend to any person."

"i ordered a cpu for my new pc but as i never used wae before after i ordered i decided to read some reviews and i didnt like what i saw but i got my order on time and yodel possibly the worst courier service decided to actually deliver and not just throw it or something so i am pleased to say that maybe waeplus and yodel are getting better"

"Avoid this company. They failed to deliver within 6 weeks when the estimated time for delivery was 2 weeks. No explanation. Their website reported ample stocks during this. The struggle to get a refund is ongoing a further 5 weeks down the line. In summary, I paid them £100 10+ weeks ago and so far they have just taken my money and given nothing but polite emails in return. "

"Worst experience I have ever had with any online retailer. My card was debited when I ordered and the item listed as in stock. When tracking my order I noticed the agreed delivery time had been extended (strange if the item was in stock) but had not been informed of this or why. I decided to cancel the order, and received a badly formatted and unfriendly automated email saying under legislation they could take up to 30 days to refund. Several attempts at calling them on the phone failed (either cut off, or I gave up after 20 minutes). Then I was emailed (also badly formatted and difficult to read) to say the refund had been processed, but several days later it hadn't. After emailing and suggesting I had registered a claim with my card company and would take them to the small claims court, only then did I receive a reasonable & apologetic communication and confirmation of a refund. I have now been refunded, but I have wasted frustrating hours of time and paid interest on the amount they debited. I am now very clear about this company's attitude to its customers, and would NEVER recommend them. The situation is now resolved but had I not pushed the matter I believe I would still be waiting for a refund."

"Well so far I've been highly unimpressed with this company, I ordered a camera for my brothers birthday on 14th June for over £600 and opted for their free delivery option of 10-12 days. How I wish I'd read these reviews before I used their site! It gave me a delivery date of 29/6-3/7 which would have arrived just in time for his birthday but as the days passed I decided to contact them to upgrade my shipping option. What a joke that was! Like almost everyone else I was completely unable to get through on the phone, receiving an automated message and being cut off, not even getting the option to hold in a queue even if I wanted to. I tried their "fast response" service and eventually heard back, advising me my order was "on track" (still awaiting fulfilment at this stage!) but to phone to upgrade my delivery if I wanted! The irony seeing as I couldn't get to speak to anyone on the phone! So I emailed again asking for the status as "awaiting fulfilment" for days after it was show to have been in stock and days after it had been paid for was concerning me. This time I didn't get a reply. Eventually I received an email yesterday afternoon saying they now had no stock and did I want an alternative item or refund! I instantly tried to call, same problem can't get through,to emailed and insisted on an instant refund seeing as they'd already had my money for 11 days with no way of meeting the order. I'm still waiting to heard back typically. I'm extremely concerned that I've been conned as I bought this item in good faith but it seems they don't keep any stock and only try to source things once the poor consumer is out of pocket. As its taken them so long to inform me of their failure to uphold their end of the contract I not doubt whether I'll be able to get a replacement in time, especially having read the reviews about the length of time it takes to get a refund from them! I wouldn't be quite as concerned if it was a cheap item but at over £600 it's not something I can over look and will be getting trading standards involved and if they continue to drag their heels with regards to refunding me I'll also pass this information on to my solicitor as they are in breach of contract by taking money for something they couldn't provide.

I will again try phoning today but I don't hold out much hope!

PLEASE TAKE ALL THESE RERVIEWS INTO ACCOUNT WHEN DECIDING WHETHER TO USE THIS COMPANY. I WISH I HAD AND WILL CERTAINLY NEVER USE THE. AGAIN.

Please note I gave them five stars for low priced products but unfortunately this can only go by the prices on their website of fictional items as what you order seems unlikely to materialise. Next time I'll pay more and go to a decent company.



Just to add I eventually got through dead on 9am this morning and spoke to Sarah who has advised the refund request will be passed to their accounts department and will be contacting me "in a few days" nice when it took them 1 day to take my money! She tried to give me the same rubbish everyone else got with regards to their stock but I explained I'd read the reviews and wasn't interested in hearing it, I've asked for a manager to call me back because I'm not going to let this lie. £600 is too much to be out of pocket.


Edit: needless to say although the refund has been "processed" it's not in my account, if it hasn't shown up by Friday there will be an official complaint going in to trading standards. And as for the comment about the phone lines being easier to get through to in the last few days this is nonsense as it has been the last few days when I've been getting cut off, I only got an answer today by calling repeatedly from 8.57am. As I say I'll only be able to relax once the money is back in my account where it should be.


Edit: considering my bank actually show pending transactions, including payments waiting to be cleared into my account I find it very suspicious that there's no sign of the money being returned to me yet. Is this yet another occasion of WAE+ not keeping to their word? I suspect so.


EDIT: have now spoken to my bank about my "pending refund" and they have confirmed its a load of rubbish as once it's in their hands it goes straight into my account. I'm now initiating a chargeback and will be contacting trading standards about this scam. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!!!!!!!!!

"WAE+ are an appalling experience. I am without the goods I ordered and I'm still £235.79 out of pocket awaiting a refund. I do not intend remaining so. It seems that WAE+ cannot/will not supply when they promise, have an elusive and ineffective customer service which is casual and blithely indifferent to customers. Since becoming alarmed at the non-delivery of a Panasonic Camcorder, on the 8th May I began a series of emails and many phonecalls. I'm pleased I kept a record of both. When contact was eventually made, I was assured that my order was being fulfilled from Europe, and I was even given dates by email. Hopeful for a few days(my holiday approaching), it didn't arrive. On the 16th May I spoke to James Phipps, who I (verbally) tied up in knots, and I heard him whispering to someone else - frantically imploring, in vain, for them to take the call from him. James promised a cheque for a refund. I received an email confirming the cancellation and that a refund would be made within 30 days. Why not simply refund my Mastercard? Well, for all I know, my money could be used as WAE+ working capital for 30 days, or indeed to gain interest or, who knows? For longer than 30 days or more if they hang onto it that is... today they have had my money for 41 days. Therefore as of today, I am sending my complaint and a copy of my file to the Birmingham City Council Standards (I urge others with complaints about WAE+ to do the same - contact: http://.birmingham.gov.uk/tradingstandards). I am also sending a copy of my file to the Disputed Transactions section of my credit card, together with the question: "Can I insist on a refund via credit card, because the retailer holding onto my cash affects my credit card balance?" Who knows what is really going on at WAE+? I am not too aware of any well directed procedures and equitable practice behind their activities - given my experience that is (and now, I see, the experiences of others). If I do not get my refund (in whole) within the next matter of days, then a copy of my file will also land on the desk of the West Midlands Police, marked for the attention of the Fraud Squad, under my covering letter. It will convey my concerns that there may be a system employed at WAE+, whereby persons are encouraged to order items which are not actually available for fulfilment, for which money is received from the intending purchaser, and who are then subject to a refund system which is dilatory to the point of dismay and disaffection, and whereby the individual may simply just give up. Well, does it all seem a little odd perhaps? Are others experincing something similar? I am not making any accusations in this public forum. Others can form their own opinions, based on what facts they have available. I will make myself freely available to the police if they wish to review my file."

"Ordered two items, some speakers and a wifi card. Google shopping seemed to give a reasonable score and the site looked reasonably genuine. I wasn't in a rush so the long delivery time wasn't an issue to me. I paid using a credit card. I was given an expected delivery time a couple of weeks in the future for the items and waited patiently for them. Eventually I was informed the items were shipped but given no tracking details. I tried phoning customer support but gave up after 15 minutes of hold music that sounded a bit like the GTA IV theme. So I sent a message using their online form and got a reply in 1 hour stating my speakers had been shipped with tracking details. The speakers then arrived but no word on the wifi card, I sent a message back but got no reply. 3 days later I messaged again and was given tracking details for the wifi card and it arrived. The wifi card was actually shipped 1 day after the orginally stated period for delivery. Discovering all the negative reviews really gave me a bad vibe and clearly this company does have issues. Speed & comprehensive communication being the foremost. In future I would prefer to pay a little extra and use a more reputable, reliable and quicker supplier. I wouldn't recommend this company but they're certainly not an intentional "SCAM" as some people have said, just poorly performing."

"Worst internet shopping experience ever. I have placed the order for a monitor on 30th of May and yet still haven't got it.The original delivery due date is 15th and 19th this month, which is already a long long wait. However, the monitor didn't come until 19th. Then I phoned them on 20th and after 20 minutes' music someone told me the delivery is postponed to Thur. 21st. On Thursday I waited at home for that monitor for the whole day and still haven't seen anything arrived.

I phoned again the next day and another staff told me the delivery is on Monday 25th. I'm very disappointed but had to accept it. On 25th, same thing happened again, no delivery at all.

I'm going to phone them again tomorrow and I think they will cheat me with another delivery date. This company is not good for internet shopping at all. Avoid it to save your time and trouble. I've made the payment on 25days ago and I still haven't got my item. You don't wan't to experience this.

Now I have asked for a refund. Seeing other people's experience, I don't know how long this will take. One of their staff Sarah promised to send me a conformation of the refund, one day passed and I haven't seen that email.

"DO NOT BUY FROM THIS FIRM NOT WORTH THE RISK.18 April ordered Bosch cordless trimmer £97.10 included extra postage I had paid to have item delivered within 5 day period. seven days had passed no sign of the trimmer. message left on my phone told me they could not deliver within 5 days would reimburse my postage which they did. 12 days delivery period being free postage I therefore expected the item as stated on their website within 12 days. waited and waited the grass grew and it grew I e-mailed wae endless times never received a reply. I phone them endless times when at long last I actually got somebody to pick up the phone. I was then told they could not supply the Bosch cordless trimmer there next delivery was not actually until May 25. Unbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!! none of which they had informed me beforehand. This would have meant I would not have received the item until sometime in June. The gentleman I spoke to was very polite and gave me the option to cancel my order and have a refund. Which I did they owed me £90. I received an e-mail from wae reminding me in their terms and conditions they have 30 days in which to refund my credit card. Well that was on 15th May it is now 27thJune still despite e-mails no refund. I received an e-mail from them after complaining. On June 19 saying they would try to hurry up the refund I still have no sign of this happening. Of course I have been in touch with my credit card an investigation into this will be taking place. I'll let you draw your own conclusions as to how dishonest . You may believe this company to be. A load of cowboys to put it mildly how dare they miss lead people when ordering items from their site. That they don't even have in stock and will not have in stock for months to come . To actually have the audacity to remind me they have 30 days to reimburse me as I have written above that was on15th May now 25th June they have had my money since 18th April. So very very many bad reviews for this firm for goodness sake don't touch them. I have long since bought a Bosch trimmer of the Internet elsewhere £99.99 including postage delivered within 48 hours."

"Where to begin, tom tom ordered on 11/5. Recieved confirmation waited and waited no tracking number 3 days after due delivery date asked for tracking number and was told tomtom not in stock and would arrive in another 4 working days, not acceptable, cancelled order on 30/5 and told would have to wait 30 day for refund, called after 1 week was told refund would take so long as they could only refund x amount of pounds per day, called again today 25/6 and today it's natwests fault, told them to send me a cheque, can't as have to make payment to my account they took the order from. Excuse after excuse have told them money shall be in my account by 30/6 by whatever means or I shall go to the OFT and small claims court, do not use, I certainly never shall again once I get my money back!!!"

"FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS GOOD AND HOLY - AVOID! AVOID! AVOID!

I was naive enough to think "Well, everyone gets bad reviews at some point, and it's only the bad experiences which generally lead to reviews" so ordered despite the sheer amount of unhappy customers on here. What a silly thing of me to do!

Ordered a printer from them, lot's in stock apparently, fairly good price - was the cheapest price I could find by about £3.

A month went by (after the 15 day expected wait!) - no printer. I ask them for an update especially as it said it hadn't been dispatched. They tell me it's the manufacturer's fault and they shouldn't be blamed - a regular theme throughout these reviews, it's never their fault, is it?! They say, wait two weeks. I wait two weeks, no printer. They say wait another two weeks. I wait another two weeks, no printer, although the printer's descriptions says it's back in stock again after a price hike by £90 from my order price.

Eventually, after a couple of months or so, I ask for my money back to which they claim a 30 day wait - which is absolutely unacceptable. 30 days go by, no refund.

So now, no money, no printer, and a big headache from banging my head against the wall asking myself why I was stupid enough to order from these guys.

In their defence, I don't think their utter incompetence is intentional, and they do apologise before deflecting blame on everybody else but themselves, but come on WAE+, get it together or you'll be out of business before your 9 month birthday!!
